  1. Fantastic! But I think if I had seen them I would've freaked a little.

  4. I hope I'm right in this, but I doubt if these were dirty needle. Maybe some off-kilter kid or mean-hearted adult just put them around to scare (and prick) innocent customers. I'm not sure what the store can do about it, but customers need to exercise caution. And, let's not forget the Tylenol killers from a few decades ago. If I remember right, he/she was never caught.
  5. I was wondering that myself. But, barring that, I think Newt is an excellent candidate with very good credentials. Except that I'm not sure he could beat Obama.
  6. HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all you guys at Worthy! Giving thanks to Our Lord for all He has brought to my life!
  7. I can't stand rap, jazz or Elvis (sorry to his fans), and I'm very picky about R&B. Other than that I'll listen to a little of anything including rock, metal (some), opera and show tunes (I still sing Funny Girl lyrics around the house). My favorite is very definitely contemporary Christian (just went to a Third Day/ Steven Curtis Chapmen concert a couple weeks ago), with country second.
  8. Welcome back I'm just recently back myself (though I don't have nearly as good of an excuse.)
  9. Hi Hillson, I wrote the song quite a while back - I could email you an mp3 if you like? Ross Whoa! Cool!
  10. I'm happy to see that there are open-minded, logical, intelligent people in the US - Cain's points in the polls have gone up 3%. I also just heard on NBC news that it follows that, if Cain drops in the polls, Gingrich will rise to take his place. As someone from Georgia all I can say is, be careful what you wish for.
  11. IMO whether or not these allegations are true, or as bad as the press will make it appear, Herman Cain's candidacy is undoubtedly done for. GOD can forgive him but the press will never let it die. The lesson is, if you lead a Christian life from the git go you won't have to worry if you run for office.
  12. I've been away, actually kind of busy (great vacation to canyon lands, getting ready for my sister-in-law's visit in just two weeks- yikes!) and generally been feeling a little low - nothing serious, just missing friends and family, and dealing with some spiritual issues. I notice several new, to me anyway, posters. Hope I get to know you all soon. And to the "old" crew, Hi, I missed you. And will someone please fill me in on any births, weddings, promotions, etc.?
  13. Sometimes theNKJV or NIV, but I seem to always return to the KJV. I find the old phrasing and language is most comforting to me.
  14. It took me lots of fits and starts before I gave myself to Jesus in full. I guess it's not how long it took, just as long as it happened!
  15. God is great! Some years ago I was putting something into the trunk of my car. My husband thought I was clear and slammed the trunk shut. In that split second we were sure that, at best, I'd have 2 broken hands. But, somehow the trunk lid didn't even touch me! It had to be "divine intervention" that I was totally unharmed. Thank God for continuing signs and His unending love!
  16. Before (just before) I was saved I had a terrible crush on a man (I'm married, he isn't). I never thought it was sinful. Ironically, this same man was the instrument God used to open my eyes to salvation. It's about 3 years now and I'm over it, but it was tough and the only way I found to work was to cut myself off from him totally. Now when I see him (we go to the same gym) which is maybe once a month, I can honestly say that I'm OVER IT, and very happy that I am! I ask God to forgive me for my sin every day, and ask for the strength to never go back to my old self. God gave me the power to overcome my weakness, and kept me from seeking out this man. What I'm saying to you is, perhaps you need to unfriend the man. Cut yourself off from any contact with him. Let your heart heal, and keep your head from kidding you that you can do this without God's help. It's Satan's work and he wants very much to keep you stringing along until you fall. Use God's strength to defeat Satan. May God bless you.
  17. I had a nasty experience today, too. WalMart was out of the brand of butter I use! And you, Fez, thought you had a harrowing day! OK, seriously, Great story once again. I appreciate the colorful way you recount pieces of your life. Thank you! (How's South doing?)
  18. Let me start by saying I'm relatively new to Christianity. I love my relationship with God and Jesus and it makes me very, very happy. I read a lot of books on Christianity, including, of course, the Bible. But a few things still escape my understanding. 1- When Jesus died on the Cross for our sins, which sins was that? Original sin? Sins from before He died? Sins committed before people (like me) were saved? 2- If you are written in the Book of Life, can you get deleted? I realize these are elementary questions, but I'd like to finally get it straight in my mind. Blessings Leona
  19. Good grief! Well I'm glad you're alive and I pray that your chronic pain will ease. But, really, wasn't that going a little too far to get out of jury duty? PS I used to work in Walnut Creek and lived in Concord! How's Mt.Diablo?
  20. I would not like to be hypnotized because of the lack of control aspect of it. That's me, but what if someone is hypnotized by someone they can trust absolutely? Just posing the question....
  21. When I first started reading this thread it seemed pretty cut and dried that Satan is evil, evil is hated by God, etc. But then I thought, that He created Satan and then sent him to hell to rule over it. So maybe He doesn't hate Satan so much as He is punishing Satan. You can punish your child and be very angry with him but you don't hate him. I don't know...but it is thought-provoking.
  22. I often think that I will die alone (I only have my husband and his sister) but I guess no-one is really alone at that time. Still, it's a little scary.
  23. 1. Anyone from the Bible, New or Old Testament 2. Any of the men who drew up the Declaration of Independence. I would love to speak with Jefferson or Gwinnett or Franklin (or whomever) and get a sense of the excitement and hope they must have felt 3. Amelia Earhardt, because she was a pioneering and brave woman (and I'd sure like to know what happened!)
