  1. I was only 15yrs old when I entered a Francisian convent in the UK. Five years later I left or should I say The Lord rescued me from the that church. I was told by a priest that "I had put my hand to the plough and looked back" and therefore not fit for Heaven. This caused me to turn to living an immoral life and tried suicide three times before I was saved. The Catholic church will have a lot to answer for one day.
  2. May I suggest that you join a Christian dating site. I would be happy to share the sites I have used ..if you are interested please PM me.
  3. My ex husband and I were wanting to be baptised by a missionary couple ....after chatting with each of us separately they informed us that they were willing to baptise me but not my ex. They said after speaking with him they did not believe that he was saved. That was some forty years ago...they were right he still is not saved. Laying hands on that man would have been the wrong thing to do.
  4. My real name is Colleen ..my Grandmother named me...she was Irish.
  5. The only tears we will shed will be on the planet...no tears in Heaven
  6. It is the world who has turned from God...scripture tells us that He is not willing that any should perish...No He hasn't turned His back on the world.
  7. Yes we all have a conscience but as Willamina pointed out if our conscience is pricked and we continually ignore it...it then becomes dull or seared...then we are in trouble !!
  8. Hi and welcome to Worthy I know the Bible is true because The Spirit witnesses with my spirit that I am a child of God..I believe by faith that it is the true word of God ....written by man......inspired by the Holy Spirit. The outworking of The Lords love and faithfulness in my life leaves me no room to doubt.
  9. I agree with this..The Lord looks at our motives..in all that we do.
  10. I have been guilty of this as well...I've seen people going around foul mouthed and behaving badly and thought ...well they are lost and don't realize or care what they are saying or doing. As a child of God I know not to behave like that simply because I want my walk to please The Lord....we have scripture to show us how to live. I don't see myself as "better" than anyone ..just better off....having The Lord as my Savior.
  11. Yes I believe that ALL things work together for good ...Rom 8:28 I also believe that we "reap what we sow".......there are always consequences to our actions whether good or bad.
  12. I have'nt read all the responses to this post but will give my personal experience. I entered the convent when I was 15yrs old..I choose celibacy . I was a virgin at that time and sex never bothered me at all...I never had it so I did'nt miss it so to speak. Was it difficult...no...was it a gift to me...no.
  13. Yes The Lord does give us more than we can handle...that we may turn to Him, who alone is able will bring us through. 2 Cor 1:8-10 For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life. 9 Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, 10 who delivered us from so great a death, and does[a] deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us,
  14. eben4Christ you quoted: Baptism is the commandment from Jesus Christ Himself (Mark 16:15-16; Matthew 28:19). It was implemented by the apostles on the day of Pentecost, those who believed were commanded to repent and be baptized for the remission of their sins (Acts 2:38). Everybody who believed the gospel were baptized including Paul (Acts 8:36-39; Acts 18:8-9; Acts 10:48; Acts 19:1-7; Acts 22:16), all these tell us that baptism is very important because the apostles taught and preached it as they were led by the Holy Spirit. The thief on the cross died before Christianity and Jesus Christ whilst on earth had the power to forgive sins (Mark 2:10) so the thief on the cross was not lutely Christian because Christianity started on the day of Pentecost. Thanks and may God bless you absolutely correct.
