  1. Man in such a case perhaps just say that things had not gone as you would have hoped for but The Lord knows best..or just something along those lines. No-one would expect all the details or any in depth conversation ....just a little feedback would be appreciated.
  2. Too right...its quite simple obedience
  3. It would be really encouraging if those who request prayer would take the time to give us an update, often prayers are requested ...we pray...and we hear nothing more. There are some who do but most don't..and that's really sad.. We would love to give thanks as we ought to for answered prayer..we are all a part of a big church family and as such ..we love each other in The Lord and have concern one for the other so please consider those who took the time to pray for you...give The Lord the glory and..give us some encouragement Luke 17 :17-18 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. He is worthy to be praised He is worthy of honour He is worthy to receive glory
  4. What??? Accolades for women?...... .... Don't you know bfloydo that there will be no women in heaven ???? Rev 8:1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.
  5. Sadly yes.. it does become an idol to some.... but as those who are soldiers of Christ we should not get so involved with the things of the world 2 Tim 2:4 No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.
  6. Do you have a question? Are you addicted to something? Just trying to get a feeling for your post.
  7. I agree, and humbly ask, if he knew he was soon to leave, would it not be a grievous burden to know that those he Loved so much could only be united back to him thru a Faith and understanding of his words? The reason why The Lord waited till Lazarus was dead was for the glory of God....and that they may believe that the Father had sent Him John 11:4" So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.” I hope this helps.
  8. We serve a God who is full of compassion ..who understands us and loves us. When I see my children cry ..I cry with them. The Lord loves His children much more then we could possibly love our children. Psalm 78:38 But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yes, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath. 4.) Did Jesus not know that any grief would be soon be turned to joy as Lazarus was raised? Yes He knows everything. 8.) Why would any weep in grief if they know without doubt Jesus could or would raise Lazarus, and told his disciples he would? I believe it was because they knew that Lazarus would be raised on the last day but....they were expecting The Lord to heal him while he was still alive.. they lacked faith
  9. Callmestormy, I don't the reason that has caused you to become an alcholic ...you know and The Lord knows and thats what matters. You say you have tried AA and counselling and neither have helped you...why do you think this is? Have you had any Christian counseling ? You say you are sick of the guilt that drinking brings with it and yet you don't quit. You acknowledge that with God all things are possible and you believe that to be true...,,,so then do you think that The Lord has failed you? Be sure of this He cannot fail all His promises are true....He is always faithful. No-one can prevent you from putting out your hand for a drink...The Lord will help you but you need to help yourself as well. Have you tried prayer and fasting? and do you spend time with The Lord? These things are so very important if you really want to overcome this problem. Scripture says that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" You can do this but only through Christ...draw near to Him and He will draw near to you He loves you so very much. . I will be praying for you my sis.... that all the fetters that bind you will be loosened.
  10. I use KJV and NKJ You can see the differences here http://biblehub.com/2_thessalonians/1-8.htm
  11. I don't like the cold winter months when all the dark shades appear ...light/ bright and floral lighten the mood for me.
  12. Some translations of 2 Thess:1:8 read....... In flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God" and on those" who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. This tells me that there will be vengence on those who are lost... and... on those who are saved but are disobedient. Other translations leave out the "and on those" out. That would then mean that only the lost will suffer vengeance. Two very different meanings...Those three words make a huge difference don't they?
  13. Its sad that one the reason would leave the forum over the "point issue" because thats not the reason we participate here. On most forums there is some sort of "scoring" what others post and there is always those who are offended in one way or another. I've never liked this because of the hurt it causes to some, and for that reason would like to see it gone..the "like" button which some forums use seems kinder as no score is kept.
  14. It matters not whether it's set in stone or not..The Lord already knows. What matters is.... that you be ready when that day arrives.
  15. Any believer who marries an unbeliever is rebellious and disobedient...and as such steps out of The Lord's blessing...He will not bless disobedience. Getting married is a huge step to take and there is no excuse for the believer to go ahead and marry an unbeliever totally disregarding what God's word instructs us.
  16. This is true. It's the simplest form of true happiness. It's a happiness that comes from the heart. It has nothing to do with material things and everything to do with our attitude toward God and our fellow man. Right on man...happiness is to know the Savior
  17. Wow-- the promised land I spoke of was heaven as he was in the transfiguration with Jesus ..... and this transfiguration took place in the promised land....... so you be the judge of why he was there, or prove to me he was not there.. I rendered my opinion. I was not commenting on what you posted....why did you think I was?? It showed up in my e-mail as a post from me that you responded to...Sorry if I offended you but, it did give me a chance to clarify what and why I feel the way I do.. so thank you for pointing my short coming out. No offense taken

  19. To me it means that when all things come against me, when I feel surrounded by those who don't understand me or my circumstances, those who attack me and I see a battle ahead... Its then I go to the table that The Lord has prepared for me...His word...having fellowship with Him ..drinking deeply from Him. When I am having my quiet time with Him my enemies can't touch me and I have peace as I meditate and worship Him.
  20. Wow ....looks really cool and a bit scary too. I also love looking at the moon ...and wonder off in my own little world at times
  21. Evidently the Holy Spirit is doing a mighty work in your life...I'm so glad that you have been sensitive to His moving. We all have sinned and fallen short ...its what we do about it when we realize that we have. You have done well my bro ...toss them all out they are lies from the evil one.... and rejoice he is a defeated foe...Praise God!!
  22. I concur with you Nebula...yes some of us have experienced even more than discouragement ...its very sad some of the things that are currently taking place in some church organizations..I believe that it greatly grieves The Holy Spirit.
  23. Reading this article gives a new meaning to the old saying "live and let live"
  24. The woman was not a Jew, she was what the Jews referred to as a dog....The Lord in saying what He did was testing her faith...and as we know He healed her because of her faith.
