  1. Embarrassing?. The kids will never hear the end of it from their friends and classmates. I think humiliation better describes this scene. How sad. I have to agree with the statement of one you tube viewer. We can’t talk about Jesus on school campuses, but this is acceptable??
  2. It wouldn’t surprise me if the this was the work of one of the individuals mentioned in the article and stuck themselves in an attempt to extort money from walmart. You can bet that each of the victims will be under investigation.
  3. I seriously doubt the man used magnetics, or even force fields. Considering that there are photo’s of him using traditional tools used to move heavy things. His idea for a jack screw isn’t unique, for a guy back in the 1880's invented the tool and it was primarily used to by the railroad for lifting locomotives. It is also documented that the tool was used by those working on bridges of the day. From the pages from the coral castle web page, it is noted that when asked he said he understood the laws of weights and leverages He said very little about the pyramids, which left people just speculating in a bunch of nonsense. Nobody really saw him raise the blocks onto the truck beds, so they can’t really say how he did it. Take a look at this youtube clip, which shows a guy all by himself moving heavy blocks vary easily.
  4. It does not matter what party gets into office, NO politician is a friend of the general public. The only people they truly care about is themselves and anyone who will line the politicians pockets full of money. Their ultimate goal in life is living in endless luxury. Anybody who thinks that any of these people are godly, are kidding themselves. They may say they believe, they might attend church, but it is all for show and lip service.
  5. Below is the only example I could find that showed a reversed swastika that the nazis used and one that the hindus use. The nazis not only reversed it, but also tilted it to the left. Its meaning was two things, one it stood for the national social party and the other is that the symbol is also two esses. (S S ) swastika example Hmm. Now that I didn't know. Can you provide a link or another source to this information? Yes, archeologists have found the symbol amongst american indian artifacts as well as mayan. History web pages and encyclopedias type pages mention Mesopotamia, so its been around for a long time. Its had /has many different meanings but always pagan themed as is with most other symbols.
  6. The swastika symbol has been around since before the bronze age and has its origins in religious meanings particularly amongst those from asia and some areas of the middle east. The monks of Tibet tattoo this symbol on themselves, people in India use it as a sign of good luck and fertility. It is heavily used in buddhism, jainism and hinduism artifacts from around the globe have been found that have the image on them. The nazis used it to symbolize arianism and thus it now associated with hate and antisemitism.
  7. The first post of this page is a copy from this web page. The guy’s name is Brian Walker. I did not see anywhere on his site that he is a pastor just that he is someone who is interested in theology www.knowbiblefactsfromfiction.com

    transformer owl

This bird is native to southern Africa and is known as a southern white faced scops owl and is small. It has earned the nickname “the transformer owl” because of its amazing ability to flatten its feathers and elongate its body. In doing so it mimics a dead branch in the hopes of hiding itself from a larger bird or other predator. In this video, at first it attempts to make itself appear larger than it is when that appears to not work it tries the dead branch method. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJrupqPqKYo&feature=related
  9. I remember reading about this prayer back when it happened in the 90's and the ruckus that his prayer in the house of representatives stirred up. And thought it worthwhile posting. The story of Pastor Joe Wright is true. When Pastor Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas House of Representatives on January 23, 1996, everyone was expecting the usual politically correct generalities. But what they heard instead was a stirring prayer, passionately calling our country to repentance and righteousness. The response was immediate - with a number of legislators walking out during the prayer. In six short weeks Central Christian Church logged more than 5,000 phone calls, with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. Commentator Paul Harvey aired Pastor Joe Wright's prayer on the radio and received a larger response to this program than any other program Paul Harvey has ever aired. In addition, Central Christian Church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa, and Korea. Pastor Joe's prayer Heavenly Father, we come before You today to ask Your forgiveness and seek Your direction and guidance. Lord, we know Your Word says, "Woe to those who call evil good," but that's exactly what we've done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and inverted our values We confess that we have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it moral pluralism. We have worshiped other gods and called it multi-culturalism. We have endorsed perversion and called it an alternative lifestyle. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have neglected the needy and called it self-preservation. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building esteem. We have abused power and called it political savvy. We have coveted our neighbors' possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our fore-fathers and called it enlightenment. Search us oh God and know our hearts today; try us and see if there be some wicked way in us; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent here by the people of Kansas, and who have been ordained by You, to govern this great state. Grant them Your wisdom to rule and may their decisions direct us to the center of Your will. I ask it in the name of Your Son, the Living Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
  10. Oops, sorry about that, I was reading about hindu beliefs and on the same page was also on the topic of muslim beliefs regarding women and the situation the opster is in. And somehow, the word muslim stuck in my mind when I posted. Yes she said her family is hindu and are forcing her.
  11. I'm not a comp. tech but perhaps your operating system has updates that need to be installed that will allow that browser to operate on your puter. If so, update your operating system or windows first and then try to reinstall the browser you want to use. I don't know if that is the answer, hopefully it is. I know on my puter that a lot of programs run a lot smoother when I keep the operating system or windows updated and installed as well as getting the update for the browser. Also double check to see that your installing the correct version for your operating system. Safari is mac's op systems default browser but there is also a safari version for ms windows. I hope this is helpful.
  12. GerdaHannah has my sympathy for her predicament. Living within a culture which does not allow women to have a say on who they want to or do not want to marry is sad. I truly wish she had the option of being able to choose. But since she does not, let us pray that the Lord will close the doors on any muslim marriage that her family is forcing upon her, and provide her with a way to marry a loving and kind christian man instead. We also need to pray that her faith in Jesus will remain intact through this trail and she is still standing firm in Christ. GerdaHannah know and be assured there is nothing that can ever take away Jesus’ love from you or keep you from loving Jesus. NLT (1973) Romans 8:38 - 39 For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t, the angels won’t, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God’s love away. Our fears for today, and our worries about tomorrow. or where we are–high above the sky, or in the deepest ocean–nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us. KJV Romans 8:38 - 39 For I am persuaded , that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present , nor things to come , Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  13. I don't get it. Why harass the pastor ? I don't know who the apostolic church is or what their beliefs are. But. . .uh. . .even if they have a false doctrine, that's NOT nice.
  14. It is always sad when something like this occurs, but I agree with you mizzdy pastors are human and like everyone else they are vulnerable to temptations. We need to pray for those in positions of leadership in the body of Christ, so that they are able to keep serving our Lord, without something like this hanging over their heads. But at the same time, I also have to wonder how truthful the media is, they are like a pack of hungry wolves looking for anything rotten to print, and the public at large just eats up all gossip as if it were a dainty morsel. My condolences to his family, friends and church members on their loss.
  15. I agree with one light, there are a lot of red flags. their interpretation of this passage in their statement of beliefs sounds like they have read it to mean that it is ok to pick and choose bits and pieces they feel agrees with their philosophies instead of what God intended. Just my opinion, but I’d steer clear of this church. I know a lot of people like the king James but you know, we don’t speak that same dialect and a lot of words used in it take on a whole nother meaning in todays dialect and language. And it sounds like this church has taken advantage of that or they are missing the mark themselves. Compare a few other versions on the exact same passage. All of the following are from reprints during the 70's 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth modern language Do your utmost to present yourself to God approved, a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly interpreting the message of the truth living bible Work hard so God can say to you “well done”. Be a good workman, one who does not need to be ashamed when God examines your work, know what his Word says and means revised standard Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth good news Do your best to win full approval in God’s sight, as a worker who is not ashamed of his work, one who correctly teaches the message of God’s truth
  16. In doing a bit of looking around online, I came across some information from one of the people who worked on the book. Their intention was to stir things up; controversy wise. (Their words, not mine.) Publishers didn’t even want to touch the book because of the controversy and backlash they would receive if they published it. The author and collaborators that worked on it, ended up publishing it themselves in the beginning. They claim to have sought the way God has revealed himself in the bible. I don’t ever recall any where the bible describing God as a woman, nor have I ever read anything that says he appeared to people as a woman or as anything else in man’s conceived mind. As for reading "the shack" uh... no thank you, I'll pass. I don't have a real interest in reading novels.
  17. Ronald Reagan gave speeches which convinced many Evangelicals that the man was a Christian, but in practice. . .him and his wife didn’t make any decisions without consulting an astrological advisor. Whether it was personal or political. Hillary Clinton is another one who is into astrologers for she went to one so she could have a chat with Eleanor Roosevelt. This is all public information . . .right from their own mouths. Our government is NOT run by just one man. There are many representatives and congressmen who are NOT truly Christians. Every politician running for office claims to be a Christian or pretends to be one. From those in small towns to large cities in every state and then after they are elected, their real beliefs come to the surface for all to see. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If your ship goes down in heavy seas, how you gonna get it to land?
  18. You need to speak with a consumer law attorney in person on this I think. Your initial appointment with this person should be free. You may not be able to get this resolved without hiring an attorney, since your wife has already been making payments. But in the mean time, I would be making use of caller id and an answering machine and not picking up the receiver unless it is someone you know or recognize the phone number. All other calls, let the machine answer ******** You DO have the right to be free from any and all harassment. You DO have the right to sue a collection agency or company that is fraudulent, deceptive, or practices other unfair business practices. They are NOT to abuse you in any way shape or form. They can NOT threaten you with bodily harm, threaten to publish your name for non payment, use abusive language, or continually call you to annoy you. They can NOT make false claims such as; your committing a crime, they are a gov. agency, credit reporting company, misrepresent the amount you owe, papers they send you are legal forms if they aren’t; papers they send to you aren’t legal forms if they are They can NOT threaten to have you arrested for non payment. Seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages UNLESS they are permitted by the court. Give false credit information about you to anyone, including a credit reporting company. Harass your family or friends or other third parties. They are NOT to call you before 8 am or after 9pm, unless you agree to it. If they have been told that your place of work does not allow calls, then they are NOT to call you at your place of work or harass your boss or co-workers.
  19. I was reading thru Ezekiel and in ch. 14 it speaks of idols erected in the heart. I always thought of idolatry as something that you placed your trust in or say that a particular physical item did something great for you or keep you from getting into trouble. Now when I looked this up online, I came across a bunch of pages, but none tell you what or how something or someone is no longer an idol. Most just talk about the fact that we can make anything an idol an erect it in our hearts. I know that a lot of people make money an idol, but since you can’t go through life without using it, how does one not make it an idol anymore. Some pages talked about how they made a family member an idol. How would one go about not making a family member not an idol anymore or any other thing? What makes it an idol anyway? Importance in our lives or something that we thing we can’t do without? As I said earlier, I always thought it was something you put a lot of trust and faith in to help you. My first example of this is when I was younger and was with a older friend one hot summer afternoon and the friend needed to run an errand and asked me to go with her, anyway. . .we stopped in at a 7 eleven for slurpees; and there on the counter were these ugly looking plastic necklaces in a box with a sign that said “good luck charms”. I had no idea what these really were at the time, but she put that stupid looking plastic thing on the rear-view mirror and told me that it was guaranteed to keep her from having an auto accident. I couldn’t keep a straight face, and bust out laughing. But she however, was quite serious and wasn’t very happy with me. The next day, she came over and told me that she had just came from the doctor’s office and that on the way there she was involved in a minor fender bender. Not wanting to be late for her appointment, she left the spot since it happened almost in front of the office and went in to tell the receptionist that she was going to be late and went back out to the place of accident. Because she was gone when the cop showed up, she ended up with the ticket instead of the other person who rear-ended her. When she finished her story, I said, did you a lot of good putting that thing on your mirror yesterday didn’t it? You were so sure, that would not happen because of that thing. You put a lot of trust in it. She looked at the ground sheepishly and said, "your right, I did"
  20. Glad to hear everyone is ok. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you build with a crooked cornerstone, how you gonna make it stand?
  21. Why not? They already made newer versions of the original series.
