Study: World Is Turning More Religious; Atheism Declining
coheir replied to nebula's topic in General Discussion
I agree with you on that.I am not into being "religious" but having a true "relationship" with Christ. I do not believe that agnostics and atheists with be the smaller population of our world but will only increase. I just watched a video that show the population growth for a lot of Europe and the USA and it claims in 50 years according to the growth we will all be run by islam, i think that will put a damper on some things like atheist and a couple more. -

Did Jesus Christ go to hell between His death and resurrection?

hi coheir Paul spoke of Paradise after Christ's ascension. Before Christ's ascenscion, Paradise was in the earth. ok another Q Bible says when Christ returns the dead in Christ will rise first. this makes one think they will rise from the earth or ground; but if they are in paradise which is up near heaven I never did get figured out right ?????????? -

As A Christian How Should I Handle This?
coheir replied to LadyKay's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
11 Thess 3;10 come to mind. My youngest brother ( an adult ) is worse than that he will not work for long has stayed with all six brothers and 4 sisters and two uncles and grandparents two neighbors; everyone throws him out once they catch him stealing. Its a hard thing but some time you got to say no; you have obligations other than a 26 year old grown man. blood kin I might help 5 or 10 times before I catch on but not 10 or 20 times. If you can not say no then make him sign an iou and pay direct do not give him money, but get iou each time even if you never plan use them against him let him know you can enforce the iou. it may discourage his borrowing. If it really is borrowing in cases like this it often become money written off not really borrowed. sorry for my strict code of conduct. i always been told; you can not help someone who will not help their own self. -
2 Corinthians 12:2 . Some take this as a level for "Super-committed Christians".And a level for "ordinary Christians",and a level for Christians who did not serve God faithfully. This is not Biblical. the way I understand things is from earth surface to stratosphere is 1st heaven then that goes out to a point ( dont know name ) then there is third heaven. gen 1: 7-8 If i not mistaken there will be an inner court and outer court inner for Jews outer for all others

Will we be naked in Heaven like Adam and Eve?

And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. Revelation 7:13-17 Im liking V 16 id say I like it about 65 degrees. I will go with a white robe, seem most plausible. -

coheir replied to missmuffet's topic in General Discussion
ok I got a Q about this. everyone seems to think Jesus went into the middle of ( down into ) earth to paradise. Luke 23:43 in 11 Corin 12:4 Paul is going up into paradise. Is this one of those times; I can say I dont know which way is up or down -

This comes to mind Ecc 3:11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. or Ecc 8:17 Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea farther; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.

How is this different than what Muslims do? The laws are fine and you should obey them unless they conflict with Islam, that's what I've been told by countless Muslims. And in Christianity you can either submit now and enjoy the blissfulness of Heaven, or reject it under penalty of Hell. While it may not be as flashy as a beheading, although countless Christians forced conversion on pain of death during the Crusades, the conceptual threat of eternal torture after one dies is much worse than the conceptual threat of death once here on Earth. In that respect Christianity is far worse than Islam, albeit Islam has its own version of Hell (although it doesn't posit eternal torment as Christianity does). Sharia law is quite simply 'God's law(s)'. For a Muslim to try to implement sharia law into the US is no different, constitutionally of the establishment clause, than a Christian trying to get a law passed banning gay marriage. It is no different than trying to get creationism into the classroom (which I know you support), or any other host of Christian values/ideas/teachings trying to get presented as law or supported by the government. As far as forced conversion goes, neither Christianity or Islam itself condones forced conversion, but both have used forced conversion in the past and present. The comparison isn't so ridiculous as you seem to make it out to be. True democracy cannot flourish when ideas are prohibited to have a voice. Just because it has a voice doesn't mean that it will get any legal power, only that said idea can be heard, understood, analyzed, and evaluated to see if it has anything to contribute to our society. I am not saying that we should adopt Sharia law, only that Sharia law as an idea should not be prohibited from discussion, as I think any prohibition is at odds with the democratic process. Taboo and ignorance is no way to fight back, it is a loosing strategy. Whether Sharia law is valuable or worse than useless, it has become an important/major element in world wide politics, and as such we should educate ourselves in it so we can formulate educated opinions about it. Someone's getting their blood pressure going. You do realize that your above statement is unconstitutional, right? You legally cannot halt a person's immigration solely based on their religion, race, ethnicity, and so on. The Constitution was not erected just so your rights are protected, but everyone's, even those you vehemently disagree with, lest we digress into special pleading and hypocrisy. I am not really defending Islam, rather I'm defending their right to be here and do as they will provided they don't break the law or harm anyone. Cain's idea of letting local communities decide whether or not mosques can be built is highly unconstitutional - it is a breach of the first amendment. Because Islam is not here to simply exist as equals with us. They want to implement sharia into our legal system as one more step of Islamicizing the US. Do you have any examples of Muslims trying to do this beyond some fanatic off on the deep end? How is this different than Christians trying to get Christian values/laws into our legal system? http://nation.foxnews.com/justice/2011/03/24/florida-judge-defends-imposing-sharia-law
