  1. 1 Tim 4 1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: they are just a sign of end times, we need to focus on the BOLD and get ready time is short
  2. I say if you are living by the old law it matters so get it right. if you are not of the old law have at it , all is well.
  3. Hey Willamina I have only known one person in my personal life with your screen name and she was a lovely person and that is how I take you. Sorry if what i said came accross as a reproof. it was not meant to be; I simply wanted to point out the verse. I did not start this to reprove anyone I started it mainly because I never heard reprove or reproof used in a sentence in my life. The first time i heard of it was when I read the bible the second time was when I reread the Bible. Oh and I WAS one of the finger pointingest people you would ever meet before I got saved. Im sorry for coming across as a judge. used
  4. Verse 3 seems to have been missed by many many. No hair spray and very very little makeup is the way to go.
  5. i think he was referring to the fact things are changed now that he was on earth and people wanted to stay in the old law and not accept the good news.
  6. I have to agree with OneLight on this issue. But I do think that the reproof you are speaking of, is done by the Power of the Spirit; Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. John 7:24 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. I Corinthians 2:15 IMPO a spiritual man will never judge another believer for weakness of sin in the flesh (James 2:8-13). But the Holy Spirit can't tolerate when someone throws a stumblingblock or occasion to fall in front of a believer. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock, or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. Romans 14:13 I must be missing somethng; I do not agree with the verses you chose I would not apply them to this. maybe one could say if you reprove a person it could be considered a stumbling block, I am one that thinks this verse is reference to actively, secretly planning to cause another to stumble in their walk not a reprove.
  7. I am aware of this, and agree
  8. Willamina, I like your post (and agree with it) it shows what happens most times. I agree about the finger pointing not a sin but it is covered in scripture Isa 58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
  9. Good point one I missed. And I do think pride comes into play. The word reproof is fading out of use while the use of the word judge has became much more prevalent.
  10. anyone heard " mercy came down " by Del Way
  11. It just seems everyone uses the phrase "don't judge me ' and in most cases its reproof they are calling judgement. You make a good point about how something is said determines how it is taken. I had not considered myself liberal before. After your post I guess I too am in some ways liberal. Thanks LK
  12. I find in most cases where reproof is used the majority of people call it judgement. Anyone know why these two words confuse so many reproof is informing a person of wrong doing without a sentence of punishment judge is gathering facts of wrong doing And pronounce a sentence fot it. judge [ juj ] a senior official in court of law: a high-ranking court officer, formerly a lawyer, who supervises court trials, instructs juries, and pronounces sentence re·proof [ ri prf ] censure: the act of criticizing somebody for having done something wrong, or something said as a rebuke
  13. Hello BlessedByTheBest, Jesus in Matthew 18:15-17 explained the condition where forgiveness is granted. Mat 18:15-17 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. (16) But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. (17) And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. " If he shall hear thee" may be translated as " if he repents" as may be seen in Luke 17. Luk 17:3-4 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. (4) And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. I think we can liken this repentance to the condition Jesus places upon the sinner to enter the Kingdom. Mar_1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. I think luke 17:3 is the one verse in Q. Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
