  1. Here is some scripture to help you through this trying time: Matthew 6:34 "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." Phillipians 4:6 "Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." John 10:27 "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 30I and my Father are one."
  2. Genesis 19:8 "See now, I have two daughters who have not known a man, please, let me bring them out to you and you may do to them as you wish; only do nothing to these men, since this is the reason they have come under the shadow of my roof. Lot thought that in doing so, the "mob" as you put it would take his daughters, thus saving his home and community. It wasnt what seemed good in their eyes but to do with them as they wished, because if the men continued then the angels would be forced to destroy Sodom and Gamorrah for God sent them there to do this very thing less Abraham find 10 good men. As I said earlier, this place was engulfed in debauchery and sin! I dont see much more that is to be understood in the passage other than that Xero, can you find anything that I missed? ~blessings~ Genesis 19:8 "Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof." I dont know what version you read but it would serve you best to switch to the KJV because its closer to the original. Little things like changing "do what is good in your eyes" to "do what you like with them" have major repercussions in understanding. Its not your fault. Heres a link and you can see the different variations: http://bible.cc/genesis/19-8.htm If you get yourself a strongs concordance (theres plenty of them free online available in PDF format) you can check out the original article and youll see that the KJV is very reliable as far as accuracy in comparison to the original.
  3. Hell gets cast into the lake of fire so no it isnt the end: Revelation 20:13 "And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." The soul isnt immortal its like a seed which is quickened by the spirit: 1 Corinthians 15:42 "So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 48As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly." See ^ first man Adam living soul last Adam a quickening spirit, the first earthy the last heavenly, weve borne the earthy and will bear the heavenly. Soul not immortal i.e. temporal, Spirit immortal i.e. eternal.
  4. Youll notice Lot says to the mob, "do with them (his daughters) what is GOOD in your eyes.", then the mob is blinded, by the angels, when they continue pressing in so theres more to be understood than Lot was handing over his daughters.
  5. Its cross reference of the OT with the NT.
  6. I had to step out quick so I posted what I already had written, Im on an iPod if youre wondering, I came to understand that the world is Babylon because of these verses: Psalm 110:1 "The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool." Isaiah 66:1 "Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?" We see in the Psalm that the Lords enemies will be made His footstool and in Isaiah that earth is His footstool. Revelation 17:15 "And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. 16And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. 17For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. 18And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth." 2 Peter 3:10 "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." We see in Revelation that the harlot is people, multitudes, nations, and tongues which will be burned and in 2 Peter we see that the earth will be burned. Yes Babylon has a physical locale but it isnt ancient Babylon. I could say but I wont because it isnt well recieved and the Bible makes it clear who the harlot is as far as God is concerned. Without a doubt all thats going on in the world is relevant but dont get too picky about labelling one or another Babylon because her fornication isnt limited to one nation.
  7. Mystery Babylon isnt only about religion its trade and business, politics, art, science, math, et cetera. The mysteries were colleges i.e. schools. Its far more than religious ideology and its world wide.
  8. Im not nitpicking just letting you know. As far happy vs. holy Im with you brother. We have our joy in the Lord theres no pleasure in sin. You wont find many who share the same stance in your immediate locale but your not responsible or their actions, as vexing as they are, give them a couple admonishments gently, Im a sucker I try and try and try to tell the truth, but if they dont listen not your problem.
  9. Matthew 5:48 is what youre quoting with "Be ye holy" but its really "Be ye perfect" Ill post from 5:43 for the context of what Jesus meant by be ye perfect. Matthew 5:43"You have heard that it has been said, You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy. 44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them who despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46For if you love them who love you, what reward have you? do not even the tax collectors the same? 47And if you greet your brethren only, what do you more than others? do not even the tax collectors so? 48Be you therefore perfect, even as your Father who is in heaven is perfect."
  10. Spiritually yeah but the whole world is really. Fresno Joe made it clear as far as the physical locality.
  11. No problem sister. Were all here to help edify one another and everything is worth investigation. Just dont be disheartened to share what youre thinking and accept reproof when it comes (even if it isnt kind it doesnt mean they dont care).
  12. I went to this link. Which article are you suggesting for us to read? I wasn't sure. I did read a few on terror organizations in the Mid East. I find it hard to believe that people can live that way. They live with almost non stop violence. We really are blessed here in America. This is another reason we need to obey God. If He ever takes His blessings away from us, then we'll be like the Mid East. We need to remember God in everything we do. You must live in the suburbs.
  13. Ynot? lol I really dont know y ynet doesnt want me to read its articles. I tried .com and it was all chinese or japanese, .org was nothing, .net same, .us was just a picture of an envelope, and .edu doesnt exist.
  14. Sounds neat but I dont think the trumpets are literal trumpets sister. Dont take offense but you seem a bit young in the faith. Im not saying anything bad about that but you will find that the older brethren are… cautious, lets say, about interpreting prophecy according to worldly occurences. Theyre not entirely wrong nor completely right. No doubt there are things in reality right now which are shaping up for the end to come but we cant be certain, unless God sends us a sure message along the lines of "thus sayeth the Lord", whats going on. Weve had lots of wars, earthquakes, famines, pestilences, and the gospel has been preached throughout the entire world so definitely things are coming to the full but God is longsuffering so it could be another several thousand years before this is over or it could be in decades, noone knows. Its good that youre keeping your eyes open and noone should make you feel uncomfortable for sharing, its hard enough being a believer in this world, but remember its not the end of the world until we see our Lord coming. Trust and believe it wont be something anyone will miss. We may have some trials ahead of us but sufficient unto the day are the evils thereof, or in more modern parlance one day at a time, so keep your eyes peeled but remember its not over til its over.
  15. I dont know man. If it comes to pass that this is taken down without being moved to the vid section or without any reason as to why I think we know what that would mean.
  16. I think they have a video section and prefer videos to be posted there. Im not certain Ive never posted a video but Ive seen some threads where its stated. Havent seen the vid yet but will do.
  17. Ive been beaten, imprisoned, reviled, mocked, and hated without reason.
  18. Romans 9:14 "What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. 15For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. 17For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. 18Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. 19Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? 20Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? 21Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? 22What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: 23And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, 24Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?"
  19. Matthew 5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."
  20. There are still gifts, I see many of them in use, not so much miracle working but definitely discerning spirits, speaking in tongues (not babbling actual languages), even prophesy (though moreso in revelatory interpretation) theres plenty of charity. @Interplanner I always took the sign of Jonah as Jesus alluding to His crucifixion and resurrection.
  21. lol @Gary Well said. @BelieveinHim you make a good point all too often people ask halfheartedly. @AlexanderJ were definitley all broke here but God will put the pieces together.
  22. Psalm 51:17 "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise." Thats a big part of it. Let em know you love them were all we have here in this world.
  23. Matthew 16:23 "But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men."
  24. According to faith; as its written: so it be.
