Adam and Eve the only two people on earth at that time ?
ibldcars4u replied to ibldcars4u's topic in General Discussion
Thanks everyone for your comments, hope we all can continue to discuss this without any racisim involved, and in a civil way. Another area I am confused about it Gen 1 vs 26-27 where I take this as on the 6th day God created male and female as hunters and fisherman. In vs 28 God blessed them and said be fruitfull and multiply and vs 31 God saw everything that he made and it was very good. He then rested on the 7th day. then In chapter 2 vs 5 before any plant, herb, was on the field had grown for God had not caused it to rain and there was no man to till the ground (I am reading this as creating a man as a farmer) but this is either the 7th or 8th day,I am not sure, but it seems it definitly is not the 6th day. If this is a special man where Christ would come through then 1 thing I have learned studying is alot of things are repeated,or givin as another example but all have the same principle. If this would be true that satan did this to Adam and Eve,killed all the new borns when Christ was born, etc. Satan always trying to ruin the lineage that Jesus will come through. Feel free to discuss anything on this,Hopefully not in a racist manner. I just want to try to understand the first few chapters of Genesis. Me being raised a certain religion, these verses are confusing to what was taught, and its the reason I now look up anything taught in the Word itself with Bible, strongs concordence.and any tools I can find to help. -
Adam and Eve the only two people on earth at that time ?

So what do you do with this verse? Gen 3:20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. Peace in Christ. I take this verse as Eve is the mother of all living,if someone does not believe in God,you are not living. or your spiritually dead. And she is the begining of the lineage to where Christ was born. again its just what I feel it means, not saying its right, but I am really trying to understand these first few chapters,Thanks for your comment -
Just wanted to get peoples opinions on what they might believe on the topic that Adam and Eve was the only 2 people on the earth at that time.I am newer to this forums and noticed a very old (closed) post on this. I am just curious on if I might be missing something when I read Genesis,am always open to learning, and see if there is something I am missing. In my opinion Adam and Eve were not the only 2 people at that time. It states that Adam and Eve had Cain and Abel. In Genesis 4 vs 17 it states Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. Where did Cain get his wife if they was the only 4 at that point (Adam,Eve,Cain,Abel who was killed at this point) ? In Genesis 4 vs 25 it states And Adam knew his wife again and bore Seth for God has appointed another seed for me instead of Abel, whom Cain killed. So we are brought back into the 4 (Adam,Eve,Cain and now Seth) Its written the generations of Cain from Gen 4 vs 18-22 to how Cain's seed started, but nothing in between about Adam and Eve having more children, multiplying at all, before or after Cain and Abel, untill Eve bore Seth. Then in Genesis 5 vs 4 it states After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were 800 yrs,and he had sons and daughters. Why wouldn't this verse be after Cain and Abel was born, or even before they was born,to then prove Adam and Eve were the only 2 people on earth and everyone came from Adam and Eve. Your thoughts ? There is no wrong answer, would like people to post what they think without anyone questioning them,to see how they take this part of Genesis.

my feeling on this is anyone who does anything that is written as a abomination has to answer it themselves when the time comes. When you look at Leviticus 18 vs 22, Leviticus 20 vs 13 Romans 1 vs 24-27, Galatians 5 vs 19-21, 1st Corinthians 6 vs 9, 1st Timothy 1 vs 9-10 My opinion its hard to say any that are repeated in all these are ok especially when it is written so many times and said these will not inherit the kingdom of God. Again, only the person themselves can answer for any they do agree to comit,so for anyone to judge or treat them differently is wrong. If someone asks if its written you can show them and let it go. Glad we only have 1 judge who is fair, and He can decide when the time comes

Deuteronomy 5 vs 9 You shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me. Personally I read these and my opinion that I take from it 1st to be born with sin is that I could have never hated God when I was born/baby with the family I am raised in,both my parents love God. and 2 that you can have 10 generations in a row who hate God,if a person in this family/generation switches and loves God he will not fall under what the previous 10 generations (starting with his/her parents) did by hating God. You can also look at Deuteronomy 24 vs 16 “Fathers shall not be put to death because of their children, nor shall children be put to death because of their fathers. Each one shall be put to death for his own sin. Exodus 20 vs 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me.

In my opinion it is saying in a simple form, to remember how you was (the church of Ephesus) before you stepped away from the truth,or started doing things differently,etc..and to repent and go back to the original way you was doing it,before you had fallen. I also feel the fallen angels are in Jude vs 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

luke 15 vs 4-7 4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? 5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. One thing I always try to remember is when you plant a seed it is up to God if he wants it to grow or not. As Matt 7 vs 6 says Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you . You can talk to a non-believer until your blue in the face, if God does not want them to have their eyes and ears opened,he will not allow them to. Plant a seed and God will take it from there if He wants to or not. Romans 11 vs 8 According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear unto this day But EVERYONE has their own fingerprints(think about that,a thumb is only so big,to have your own unique fingerprints) even your DNA. you are unique, and you have your own gift. Whatever purpose God has for all of us,there is a purpose and he wanted someone just like you

That's the way I see it. I'm not saying it's "def. not" all the saints, but of all the Israelites in Egypt, only 2 were given the power of the waters, to turn them to blood - Moses and Aaron. They were also the only 2 chosen to be God's witnesses to Pharoah. Have you considered that Ephraim was a man who became a tribe whose name was ascribed to the whole Northern Kingdom and even beyond? In the transfiguration Moses and Elijah appeared with Jesus bearing him witness. The law and the prophets. But Ephraim and Dan were not part of the tribes of the children of Israel who were sealed. Rev 7 vs 4-8 They was omited with Levi and Joseph taking their places. the reasons are Lev 24 vs 10-16, Deut 29 vs 18-21, Judges 18 vs 2-31, 1 Kings 12 vs 26-33, and Hosea 4 vs 17. But they are restored later in time (after Rev 7) as mentioned in Ezekiel 48 In my opinion I feel these might just be the 2 witnesses (Moses and Elijah) but we will all find out whoever they are when that time comes

In my opinion the trumps are the warnings,as they used in wars years ago,but you will not pysically hear them. the bowls/vials is the wrath that will be poured out, and the seals are what you are supposed to have on your forehead (rev 9 vs 4) The seals are taught in Mark 13 example Rev 6 vs 12-13 and Mark 13 vs 24-25 is the 6th seal, the other seals are also in Mark 13 for anyone who might to do a study on them. I also feel in my opinion the 2 witnesses are individuals, will be 2 people maybe teaching the truth, and having the power to make that part of Gods plan to go into affect at that time.

The one I like is in 1 king 18 vs 22-38 when the baal prophets was leaping on the altar and crying out for hours with no responce, maybe your god is talking, sleeping or on a journey 22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men. 23 Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: 24 And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken. 25 And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under. 26 And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made. 27 And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked. 28 And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them. 29 And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded. 30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down. 31 And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the Lord came, saying, Israel shall be thy name: 32 And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed. 33 And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood. 34 And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time. 35 And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water. 36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. 37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. 38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

You don't have to tread on egg-sheels here and worry about offending.... Well put, I feel the same way about anything on here really. We are all students meaning we will always be learning and nobody is perfect. I personally will not knock any personal belief,or any way someone may think is the right way to interpet the Word,or their opinon on what a miracle is,etc..If we don't agree,I will be the 1st to just leave it alone and move on. We all sin and there will be different opinions, nobody should feel like walking on egg shells.. Matt 7 vs 3-5: Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. Also in Ecclesiastes 7 vs 20-22 For there is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin. Also do not take to heart everything people say, lest you hear your servant cursing you. For many times, also, your own heart has known That even you have cursed others.

I know how you feel. what I have done with my 2 children yrs ago was explained what was the true meaning of these holidays are when I felt the was old enough to understand, obviously there will be different ages depending on the child. Any candy, gifts, toys, etc that was givin to them we told them came from us. I personally could not give my kids candy on "easter" then let them go to school/outside and hear all the other kids talk about what they got. Again this is my personal choice but my children knew the real reason of these holidays. Was trying to think of any scripture that might help you,the only one I can think of is 1 Corinthians chapter 8. Might not be pertaining to this exact subject with children, but it is the only thing I can think of right now.Not sure if it will help or not. I perceive it as lets use chicken as a example. I know it has no bearing, worship, meaning at all to God so I can sit down to eat chicken with someone who is looking at it differently. They might be worshiping, offering it in their mind, but I have no such thoughts. Now if that person feels its repulsive to eat that chiken you are better off not eating it. It would be a stumbling block for them to do so in their mind. Meaning if someone partakes of easter I can sit down and partake of it with them,I know the true meaning, will not have any affect on me. If someone does not partake of easter,it would then be a stumbling block if I would partake of it with the knowledge I have. Hope this might help,The thing to remember most is no matter what anyone says,(my words I just wrote included),ask God to help in your decision. That has helped me ALOT,with that your mind is at peace knowing you did the best you can to come up with the best possible solution, and you talked it over with him. We make mistakes,God doesent

I guess that would depend on how the parent explains the holiday, if they decide not to partake in them they way society does. Exactly,it is all in the explanation and the way any parent would explain it and what changes they make if any at all to gifts,candy,etc..that make up the holiday. Just makes me scratch my head of how a bunny got added in

John 15 vs 18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you Romans chapter 12 vs 17 :Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. (notice the first 4 words IF IT BE POSSIBLE) 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

It is a fine line with the holidays. Looking at it if one was to say no x-mas, or no easter for children, they might get the wrong impression about Religion, Faith, or God in general. Seeing other children celebrating it and receiving candy, gifts, etc and they would not receive any because you would not celebrate it,in my opinion might push them away,or make them grow up thinking thats the reason why I didn't get to have that holiday. Its just my opinion, maybe after going over it,pray about it and ask God for help to get peace of mind over making the right decision. Good luck
