  1. GerdaHannah, You should not cut your association completely, because you have started a commitment to God, and you might be able to help her to know God better and also His son who died as a Great Ransom to save up from everlasting death, John 3:16. If you are sincere, she will not be good association, at least for a while, so when you see her talk about your faith in Jesus, and if she listens to you it might be that salvation could come to her from you, 1Tim 4;16. If you speak about Our savior each time you see her, you will be able to see whether see is interested in God or not. If she shows that she likes to hear you speak about spiritual things, she may have a good heart, and nothing can bring two together closer than a mutual faith, and sharing that faith and a study of God's word together. So make sure you have something spiritual to talk to her about the next time you see her. Look into the scriptures and find something especially interesting and be ready to share it with her. If she shows interest, it will draw you together, if she is not interested she will stop coming around you, and that will help you to end your close association, 2Cor 6:14-18, Prov 13:20, 1Cor 15:33.
  2. Jesus had just read in Isaiah about a prophecy pointing to the Messiah, Luke 4:16-20, then he said that this prophecy is fulfilled. The people then praised Jesus, for his beautiful words, but then he wanted them to understand that they were not putting faith in him, as the Christ, as they should, because these scriptures were a prophecy from Isaiah 61:1,2. You notice that when Jesus told the Jews that there were many Jews back then, in the time of Zarephath, and Naaman, but Elijah, and Elisha were not sent to any leper in Israel, but to a GENTILE named Naaman. There were many widows in Israel during famine, but Elijah was sent to a GENTILE widow. The Jews hearing this got extremely angry because the Jews were God's chosen people and they were the descendants of the people Jesus was talking about. This was like blasphemy to them to think Elijah and Elisha went to Gentiles instead of Jews, and Jesus was pointing out that a prophet is not unhonered except in his own home territory. This saying by Jesus made the people so angry that they led him away to throw down off the mountain the city of Jerusalem was built on. It was not time for Jesus to give his life yet, so he just walked away through the midst of them. They really had no power over Jesus.
  3. OldSchool, Anyone who criticizes the Apostle Paul, does not understand The Holy Scriptures at all. Paul wrote 14 Books of the Greek Scriptures, the Christian Greek Scriptures. Paul knew about ten times more about what God and Jesus wanted The Christian Congregation to be than all the other Apostles. It was to Paul that Jesus gave many revelations of Sacred Mysteries, that had been secret for generations, Gal 1:11,12, Rom 16:25,25. It was Paul that wrote 1Cor, and 2Cor, where we find out so much about how Jesus wanted The Congregation to function, and the positions of most importance in the Congregation, 1Cor 1:28-31, 13:1-13. Paul was the teacher to all men, Jews, Gentiles, a Kings, Acts 9:15,16. The Bible tells about Paul doing miracles during all the time of his ministry, Acts 19:6-12. Paul was actually the greatest of all the Christian teachers, Apostle. This is because Jesus did not teach Christianity, because he was a Jew, and it was against The Mosaic Law Covenant to teach another religion, until the death of Jesus, at which time The Mosaic Law Covenant ended. Jesus instituted The New Covenant on the night before he was put to death, alike 22:14-20, 1Cor 11:23-26, Heb 8:6-13, Gal 4:4.
  4. Marilyn C, Some of the things you speak about are true! The things you really need to understand is what the seven headed, ten horned Beast is, and the rider, The Great Harlot that is riding on his back, the woman that commits fornication with The Kings of the Earth. Meditate closely and I will make these things clear. The Beast with 7 heads and 10 horns represents all the Kingdoms that have ruled down through time, Egypt, Assyria, Banylon, Medes and Persions, Greece, Rome, and the Anglo-American World power, which is now ruling. The ten horns is used to mean ALL the kingdoms of the world. The heads are the Worldowers at ant time, the body of the Beast represents all the other nations of the earth. Ten is used in the Bible for completeness. The Kings of the Earth are the top leaders of each nation, a Presidents, Prime Ministers, Dictators, etc. The Great Harlot riding on the back of these nations, and her daughters, represents The World Empire of False Religion. She is said to commit fornication withe the Kings of the Earth. This is the mixture of religion with politics, which is fornication in God's eyes? If you know about the history of The Israelites, you will realize that the seven nations are the ones who had dealings with them. Most of the things I have mentioned are recorded at Rev chapter 17. Consider the Harlots actions, she kills God's true followers, just as false religion has always done, verse 6. There is to be an eighth King, after the Seven rulers, the seven heads of the Beast. This Beast is going to be The United Nations, and The United Nations will attack the Woman, false Religion, and completely destroy her, Rev 17:15-18. Once false religion is destroyed, then The United Nations will make an attack on God's true followers. This will bring The United Nations against The Lamb, Jesus, who will then destroy The United Nations, and Armageddon will start, shortly after Jesus destroys all who do not Know God and obey The lord Jesus, he will begin his One Thousand Year Judgement Day. A paradise earth will be then attained, and The Great Resurrection will begin shortly after The U N is destroyed, 2Thes 1:6-9, Rev 16:16, 19:11-21, John 5:28,29.
  5. shas456, You sound exactly like my younger sister. She started dating a boy who was terrible on every way. He had a filthy mouth, had absolutely no morals, drank excessively every day. He told me that he was going to marry her. I just laughed, because she was the prettiest girl in school and the smartest, Suma Cumlaude. He started to change, and everyone started to like him, because he then seemed the ideal boy. To make a long story short, they got married. As soon as they did, he went back to his old ways. I had gone into the Air Force, so he started to treat her very badly, even beat her. He would have been afraid to do that if I had been around. fer he beat her a few times she finally left him, but buy this time she had a little girl, which made it rough to work and take care of her child. They have a saying about the leopard changing his spots. If you truly want to be a Christian, you must obey what The Bible says about bad associations, 1Cor 15:33. Bad associations bring you down, rarely does the good person bring up the bad one, it's like getting into a pigsty and try to clean the pig. Also the Bible warns a Christian against being unevenly yoked to an unbeliever, 2Cor 6:14,15. Even more pointed is what is recorded at 1Cor 7:39, a Christian is only to marry another Christian, marry only in the lord.
  6. Kwikphilly, Remember, there are several ways to be witnesses for Jesus. Just because you think you have done nothing, does not mean that your Heavenly Father thinks that way. We all know that actions actually speak louder than words. Have you been a good example in some way? One thing I know that you have done is to take the time to write this post that gets all the reads to stop and meditate a minute. The bible states in 1Cor 3:5-8 tells us that do the planting and the watering are nothing, but God is, who makes it grow. Even though what you did may be little every life is precious and everyone needs watering. Remember also, Rom 10:13-15, where we are told that the feet that brings good things are beautiful, so you can believe your Heavenly Father appreciates all that His people do to help others, Matt 25:33,34. Many times you may do something that you may think is nothing, but that might not be so to the one that happens to see you, who you do not know about. You can do good in many ways and God sees all you do.
  7. "niki23", When God created Adam he put within him the ability to father all the different races of mankind, Acts 17:26. It seems strange, but I read recently that a test was made on some Indians, and it seemed that their descendants were related to the Jews. As for the way they came to North America, it seem that most scientists believe they came across a land bridge that extended from the Aleutians Islands, that once connected Asia with Alaska.
  8. Hamletcat, When you pray you are talking to God. When you read His word He is talking to you. The Bible says that God knows what you need before you ask Him, Matt 6:8. This means that all your questions are answered in the Holy Scriptures. It takes a lot of study to understand what the Bible is saying to us, we must search for truth as we would for hid treasure, Pro 2:4. When a person starts to study it may seem overwhelming, so after a little reading they give up, because they don't believe they are learning anything. I have studied the Bible for many years, and I have found that you need to study the Bible Topically. This means you pick out a subject or a doctrine that you want to understand, then look up all the scriptures that pertain to the subject, analyze them, compare what they all say, then try to determine what they are saying when you put them all together. Understand that many scriptures just give a part of the whole truth so you must put all the scriptures together to find the whole truth. If you are truly serious about understanding God's word you need a concordance, and a good Bible encyclopedia, at the least a Bible dictionary. Then most of all you need to pray to God for His Holy Spirit, to help you understand. Every time you learn a Bible doctrine you have a priceless gem, that no one can take from you, so take your time and do not feel confused, because it takes time to learn, but the time is positively worth the effort. Remember, there are only three professions listed today, Medicine, law, and Religion. Each one takes many years to become proficient. Don't give up, because everything you learn makes you that much closer to God. If you truly want to feel close to God, I believe it makes a difference if you use God's personal name when you pray, Jehovah is God's personal, proper name, and this name, represented by four Hebrew letters, YHWH, God caused to be written in His word, over 7,000 times. So He must want His name used by people who love Him. Most Bible writers have substituted LORD, or GOD, in all capital letters, whenever His name was originally written.
  9. Michael is a created being...... Jesus is not..... so they can't be the same. angels are created beings and Jesus is not.... so he can't be an angel. How do you understand this from the book of hebrews? Did God not created a body within a virgin to be born as the Messiah? I don't believe Messiah was an angel. And I understand he existed before the world began. But did his body? Was not his body created like us, in human form? Though his Spirit was before creation, the Holy one. Shimshon, Many times people do not know who is being talked about, because most copiers of the scriptures use the same word, lord, for both Jesus and God. At Luke 4:18 Jesus was saying that the Lord GOD anointed him. It is very hard to explain anything to a person who does not believe what the Bible says. What exactly do you think it means to the the Firstborn. It means you are the first born to an individual, and in the case the First of God' creations, exactly as the Bible says at Col. 1:15, and Rev 3:14, the beginning of God's creation. You either believe the word of God or you do not, but the Bible says to trust in God with all your heart, Prov 3:5,6, do no believe what men say to you, if it disagrees with the Bible, Jere 17:5, Ps 146:3,4. At 1Thes 4:15 Jesus is the lord mentioned there, and then in verse 16, he has the voice of The Archangel, why then do you believe Jesus is not the Archangel?? When Jesus was in heaven he had a spiritual body the same a God has, that is why Jesus is said to have been in the form of God, Jesus was in a spiritual form. The Bible tells us that Jesus was made lower than the Angels when he came to earth, Heb 2:9. Then we are told that Jesus was exalted by God for what he did for us, taking the form of a man, and giving his life, Phil 2:6-11. Jesus could not be exalted if he still had a human body, and the scriptures tells that when he died he was put to death in the flesh and made alive in the spirit. Jesus was exalted to a higher position than he was before, to the glory of God the Father, Phil 2:11. Jesus asked for the Father to restore him to the Glory he had before he was flesh and that is what happened.... What you are saying here boils down to Jesus being a created entity and I disagree with that. Jesus is actually Yahweh of the old testament. Shimshon, I have around 40 different Bibles and all say the same thing, the Jesus was the beginning of God's creations. Why is it you have decided not to believe the written word of God?? Do nt be like the Jews recorded at Rom 10:1-3, where they were trying to establish there own righteousness instead of listening to the word of God. The written word of God is to help people understand what God wants for all His people. No one can hope to gain salvation if they deny the Bible, because God's Holy Spirit carried the writers along as they wrote, making sure that what was written was accurate, 2Tim 3:16,17, 2Pet 1:20,21. As Jesus being the same person as Yahweh, please read what is recorded at Dan 6:13,14, where God, Yahweh, was sitting on His throne and Jesus was brought in before Him, to receive kingly power, as King of God's Kingdom. Please explain to me how a person is sitting on a throne and he, himself is brought in before himself. This same thing is also recorded at Rev 5:2-7, here Jesus, athe Lamb of God come in before God sitting on His throne and takes a book from the hand of God. If you have access to a Bible that has God's name in it, as His name was in the Origialn Autographs, you will see at Ps 110:1 that, as written by David, God said to my lord, Jesus for him to sit at God's right hand until He puts all his enemies as his footstool. As you can see by these verses, God was giving instructions to Jesus. By the way, God's name was symbolized by The Tetragrammaton, YHWH, or JHVH. This name may have been pronounced Yahweh in Hebrew, but the name is most often translated, in English, as Jehovah. The name Jehovah was put on many coins in the past, for several hundred years. This name was also on the fronts of many houses, especially in Germany and surrounding nations, whose people were Christians long before The United States was born.

  11. Michael is a created being...... Jesus is not..... so they can't be the same. angels are created beings and Jesus is not.... so he can't be an angel.[/quote) Other one, Where do you get the information from that Michael is created and Jesus is not a created being?? My Bible, and almost all Bibles say the same thing at Col 1:15, that Jesus was the first of God's creations. Revelation says the same thing at Rev 3:14. John 1:18 says that Jesus is the only begotten son of God. This term means that Jesus is God's son in a very special way. It means that when God created Jesus, there was no one in the universe except God, and after Jesus was created, God used Jesus in the creation of all other things. The Bible says that God created all things through Jesus, and For Jesus, 1Cor 8:6, Col 1:16, Heb 1:2. Very interesting scriptures are recorded at Prov 8:22-31. Most theologians believe that here is wisdom personified in Jesus. Verse 22, in most Bibles says that Jesus was brought forth, seeming to be a sign of Jesus being created. The same ides is recorded at verses 24&25. Verse 30 tells of Jesus being the master worker, Jesus being the helper in all things created. At John 6:57, Jesus said that he lives because of the Father. Proverbs 23:22, says that your father caused your birth. Do you believe that Jesus was lying or being deceitful when he said the God was his Father and his God, John 20:17?? Jesus called God his Father many times in the Holy Scriptures, Matt 11:25, Matt 20:23, Matt 7:21. All people who are serious researchers of the scriptures recognize that the Bible uses Anthropomorphisms in the scriptures, theses are also called Accommodations, because the words mean that common words that we know the meaning of are used to help us understand scripture. When God uses the term, heart, we understand, even though God is a spirit and has no heart as we have. The same is true of the word Father, it means that God created His son, and is therefore his Father, an accommodation for us.
  12. Hello, When you consider what is said in other parts of the Holy Scriptures about Jesus and the things he is going to do, it seem that Jesus is The Archangel. Archangel means the Top angel. That would surely be Jesus. The Bible tells us that Jesus is the one who judges with an iron rod, and that it is Jesus who God gives the power to resurrect all the ones in the tombs, John 5:25-29, and then 1Thess 4:16,17,tells us that the one who resurrects has The Archangel's voice, it seems that Jesus would certainly be Michael, probably Jesus's heavenly name. Also consider exactly what is being spoken about at Rev 12:1-6. The woman is God's woman who produces the King of God's Kingdom, who is Jesus. These verses are telling about the birth of that Kingdom. Rev 6:2 , tells us about the one riding on the white horse, Jesus, receives a crown, and immediately after that is the rider on the red horse, WAR. This is what also happens directly after the birth of the kingdom at Rev 12:7-12. Here Michael is again doing what the Bible says that Jesus will do, Heb 2:9-14, 1John 3:8. The Archangel is also mentioned at Jude 9, disputing with the Devil, who else could be disputing with the Devil?? One other place that Michael is doing something that the lord Jesus is assign to do, is at Dan 12:1,2, Isa 11:1-5, Matt 25:31-46, 2Thes 1:6-9, Rev 2:26,27, 19:11-21. Some think that it is belittling Jesus to call him an angel, but that is not true, for Jesus is also called an Apostle, which is a name usually reserved for men, Heb 3:1. It must be that Jesus' heavenly name was, and maybe is again, Michael.
  13. Teditis, I have studied the Holy Scriptures for over 50 years. The Bible says that if we think we know something, we do not yet know it as we ought to know it, 1Cor 8:2. So even though I have not been convinced that The Trinity is a Bible belief, I am always ready to hear any evidence. Please give me some scriptures to ruminate on, ponder, and meditate. I love to learn something new about the Holy Scriptures.
  14. It is true that we will receive blessings for honoring Jesus, but we must also remember that we also must love our neighbors as ourselves, as the second most important Law states, Matt 22:35-39. Also Jesus said, to receive the reward we must do what is right even to the least of Jesus' brothers, Matt 25:40. Jesus even said that we would know his disciples by the love they would have to one another, John 13:34,35. Another thing that is important, we must work what is good toward all, but especially toward those who are of the Christian household, Gal 6:10. Of course, above all, we must love our Grand Creator, Father, and God, The First and greatest commandment, Matt 22:36-38.
