  1. Boom! Very well said. This is been my struggle my struggle. Certain people can just trigger me and I have to really avoid that
  2. 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. 2 Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. 3 And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. 4 You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
  3. Jerusalem 30ad There was no internet, no CNN, no radio, no newspaper, no phones. The only communication that the common folk had was word of mouth and as is the case with such communication, (just as you find on Facebook today) there were a lot of wrong stories. Stories slanted to suit the needs of the teller, some tall tales, and some outright lies. There was no way to "fact check" these stories so you never knew if a war was real until it hit home. So wars and rumors of wars,
  4. Thank you for your opinion, but I reject preterism completely. I could go through this line by line and argue it with you, but I feel I would simply be spinning my wheels. Peace to you.
  5. The older I get the more I appreciate David's heart. Surrounded my enemies, with no one to turn to but God. Not and entirely bad place to be. Joshua 1: 5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. Even if your promised land is just your family, walk boldly knowing that is God who as brought you here and God who will see you through Thank you for the blessing this was a good word in time for me, yet again.
  6. The abomination of desolation is a prophetic event found in the book of Daniel (Daniel 12:11) and referred to by Jesus Christ (Matthew 24:15). Though it has historical fulfillments, there is also a future fulfillment when daily sacrifices will be offered in Jerusalem and then cut off and replaced by some sort of blasphemous display. This prophecy is significant because it represents an important time marker signaling the nearness of the return of Jesus Christ. abomination of desolation
  7. The Jewish leaders where lying manipulating users of people and the system to get the power and riches they wanted. Jesus shined the light of truth on their sin, and like sinners some accepted the light and repented (Nicodemous) and others rejected the light of truth and called it blasephemy. He was a threat to their hold over the people. If His truth spread (and it did) then their time would end (and it did) and so they wanted to kill him (and they did) Still going on to day. If anyone speaks the truth of God on many subjects, they are labeled haters by those who hate the truth
  8. Then why did the blood sacrifice begin with Adam, through Abel Abraham, and many others who preceded Moses Moses provided us the Law. And the Law Included provisions for atonement through sacrifices. But like prayer, faith, et al, the blood sacrifice preceded the Mosaic covenant
  9. The old testament people believed in the coming Christ, we believe in the risen Christ. But it is the same Christ who saves all. Since time is merely a creation of God, He is not bound by it. From the first time man sinned, blood was shed to cover that sin. (God gave them animal skins for covering. And from that time on Sacrifices were given to God, lambs and other animals as an atonement for sin, until...The Lamb Of God who takes away the sin of the world...Jesus....came and died for us. Do you think he would have died such a gruesome death for us, if it was not necessary
  10. Hmm pretty sure that is not evolution you speak of Ev·o·lu·tion /ˌevəˈlo͞oSH(ə)n/ noun 1.the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth.
  11. Okay Understood. There are not that many choices here. You just have to seek God as to which is the right one
  12. Our thoughts and intepretations are flawed and incomplete, and if one is willing to sell out the word of God, to bolster their favored belief. That is a problem.
  13. That is the point, you are modifying the scriptures meaning and context to support your favored belief. When we should modify our beliefs to fit scripture
  14. did he move the cat with his foot, like putting his foot under the cat and moving it away, that sounds more likely, no hurting the cat but moving it, correcting it and perhaps shocking it
  15. There are times I feel like chicken little, when an acorn to falls on my head and I think the sky is falling. Over reacting and panicking when there is little to be afraid of. Then there are times when we face great disaster with dire consequences where it would not be possible to over react to the impending doom that hangs over us, restrained only by the thinnest of threads. In both cases the Christian response should be the same. “Be Still and know that I am God” Each Christian should hold fast to the reality that it is God that is is in control of our life, and orders its days and outcome. He is God, and his way is supreme. It doesn’t matter the evil man has planned, God will surely turn it for the good of his people. Though for a time we might endure a trial to get there. We know that Joseph grew up in the favor of his father Jacob who delighted in him. He was adorned with a special coat of many colors, surely his life was blessed. Until one day his brothers fell upon him and took it all away and sold him into slavery. Abandoned by his family and separated from his father, Joseph was bereft and alone, but what was his response? “Be Still and know that I am God” We know how the story ends, through the tests of Joseph a family was saved, and because a family was saved, a nation was born, a nation accustomed to both happiness and tears. Because of a nation that was born, a Messiah was born that saved all who would come to Him. Because God takes the long view, and knows that a season of suffering can reap a bounty of eternal life As Joseph tells his brothers: (Gen 50: 20) But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. “Be Still and know that I am God” Today our country faces what seems to be disaster as the people who would like to destroy God and his morality seem to be taking power…but never forget, God is in control, and he is taking the long view. so what should be our response when we face and see the trial that is coming? “Be Still and know that I am God” God has it all in his hands, and if we face a season of suffering, it will bring a bountiful harvest of blessings. Trust God, rejoice in Him and His promises to us and let not your heart be troubled. “Be Still and know that I am God” Psalm 46: God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah 4 There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, The holy place of the [c]tabernacle of the Most High. 5 God is in the midst of her, she shall not be [d]moved; God shall help her, just [e]at the break of dawn. 6 The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted. 7 The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah 8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, Who has made desolations in the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire. 10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! 11 The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah
  16. Please use your words to explain the message you are trying to convey with this group of scripture.
  17. When we start changing definitions, and discounting the meaning of scripture to support our desired agenda, we must step back and re-evaluate. There is just WAY too much in the New Testament and Gospels about avoiding sin and doing the right thing to ever support the idea that we are sin free. We are the beneficiaries of the grace of God. We are not sin free, we are forgiven. 1st John: 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
  18. You said 2. “but you are not free to choose what it IS that you want to do” And is with that, that I disagree
  19. But it wasn't until God breathed life into that mudpie, that he became man
  20. History is written by the victors and RARELY is a accurate telling of the entire subject
  21. Adapting to their environment in no way changes their species. Favorable attributes for different areas bred more successfully. Short Squat people (Eskimos) thrived in the far north reaches, tall Athletic dark people thrived in the plains of Africa. These favored traits breed successfully is not mutation and not in any means evolution. It is simply the favoring of successful attributes for their environment Neither one of the above is less human than the other.
  22. Many people who were not Jews derived from Abraham, stemming mostly from his dalliance with Ishmael's mother. People who derived from Abraham are called Semites, and this is Arabs and Jews and others. Samaria is very likely to have been where the remnant of the northern ten tribes stayed, having long abandoned the Hebrew religion, this would account for the animosity that existed between the Samaritans and and the Jews. Israelites came strictly from the 12 Sons of Israel (Jacob) Abraham's Grandson and Jews derived from the Southern two tribes of Israel that remained faithful. As to sharing Ancestry, I am happy to share the ancestry of Adam and Noah and know that My Lord did too
  23. Because God made them that way. (simplest answer, Ocaam) But he only made one race, the Human Race But
