  1. It seems reasonable to conclude many UFO encounters are demonic in nature, though I wouldn't use that as a blanket statement to describe all strange phenomena regarding UFOs. There does seem to be a connection between new age, the occult, and alien phenomena. Whether it is supernatural or man-made, it does act as a deception to get people to question God and turn their attention to something else. In that sense, I do feel it is demonic, as Satan does everything he can to drive a wedge between us and God. While many new age practitioners are led further astray by these means, it's important for Christians not to become too preoccupied with this type of phenomena.
  2. Well said. I agree, Christian entertainment isn't even subtle in its attempt to moralize everything. We simply need more wholesome, good quality entertainment, not more preaching. As Shiloh said, Christians in the entertainment business see themselves as serving in a type of necessary ministry, and it is a ministry, but it needs to be refocused. Rather than using entertainment as another medium by which to preach at people, why not provide something that is simply entertaining yet wholesome? I feel that would not only cater to Christian audiences, but would better reach non-Christians as well.
  3. I don't know much about yoga. From what I've read, the poses were intended as a kind of worship/offering to false god(s). Deuteronomy 12:30-31 says this: "take care that you be not ensnared to follow them, after they have been destroyed before you, and that you do not inquire about their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods?—that I also may do the same.’ You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way, for every abominable thing that the Lord hates they have done for their gods, for they even burn their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods." I believe this principle still applies today; we shouldn't seek to worship God in the same way others worship their false gods. As yoga was created and intended for religious purposes, I don't believe in trying to "Christianize" it. Just because we put a Christian label on something does not redeem it for God or necessarily bring Him glory.
  4. It is absolutely correct that we are created in God's image. I don't think any personality test can do that justice or completely encompass our character and personality as God has made us all entirely unique. However, such personality tests can be useful. As mentioned previously, employers often use them to determine what kinds of jobs certain people are mentally equipped to handle. Personally these tests have been helpful for me understanding myself better. While naturally they will be incomplete and can't completely define who I am as a person, it can help me determine where some of my strengths and weaknesses lie. For example, I'm fairly introverted and enjoy the company of friends and getting to know new people, but because I understand that I'm more introverted, I know my boundaries and when I need time alone. It also helps me understand others around me, and how they perceive situations and react to them, extending grace when they don't react as I expect. Of course, idols can be made of anything, and I wouldn't want to put personality tests on a pedestal and rely on them for insight to every situation. It's easy to feel as though such things are the missing puzzle piece that will make you see your life in a new light and make everything click into place. Personality assessments, while fascinating, can't do this, but they are useful when used in the correct context.
