  1. well, I did not read the entire thread so missed that anyway, I don't know if Jesus almost died from blood loss alone...but apparently that was not God's plan...apparently He gave His life thanks
  2. I am under the impression that Jesus actually gave up His life? when He said 'it is finished'...bowed His head and died OT prophecy states none of His bones were broken..as per the 2 thieves who were not dead and had their bones broken, but when they came to Jesus He was already dead I think it is important to make note that He gave up His life...not that He died because of the 40 lashes what do you think regarding this? thanks
  3. not sure where you got those ideas from maybe too much analysis of what I wrote I have a good grip on what the book says...apart from all the University psych classes I took you have misunderstood what I wrote perhaps it's the lag time...I have noticed threads in this forum really move sloooooow
  4. I really like what you said here and agree with regards to the word transgression just remembered what God said to the Israelites about not moving boundary stones...physical application with a spiritual overtone
  5. haha I heard a bad joke about that marriage is like flies on a screen door...the ones on the outside want to get in and the ones on the inside want to get out!
  6. Have I or do I try to control others? frankly I think everyone does that to different extents short answer: I would not have bought the book if I thought I did LOL! I think we probably all try to control the space around ourselves..boundaries, the book, is about controlling everyone elses' space people control through intimidation, manipulation and downright in your face threats, anger, sometimes physical abuse, emotional and so on we probably all have experienced some of that to one degree or another
  7. I'm not on alot, so sorry about the time lag for response. Searching through the drawers of other people, looking through belongings for something to gain information, saying things that are controlling like "God told me to tell you" or 'God is not pleased with you. You need to repent" Disrespecting the choices made and overiding them...anything that exerts control. You should not be controlling other people Well I would say the book is for everyone in my opinion, but it's not for people who like to control unless they desire to stop what they are doing Boundaries are normal...even God gives us free choice...when someone crosses the line, they can even take the place of God in a person's life by controlling and disapproving things all supposedly because it would not please God when in truth, it does not suit the purposes of the person doing the controlling
  8. I have that book. Have not read it from cover to cover and bought it because a family member has no boundaries lol! I think it is a really good book but maybe not for everyone. and no, boundaries are not selfish!
  9. sorry was just getting interesting for me
  10. Getting pretty bold to name a show after himself IMO Won't be watching it
  11. no in fact, I am no longer confused about the posts thanks
  12. Because it's the question and answer forum? and I ask if I am not sure?
  13. you don't believe Jesus is God? so you don't believe in the Trinity? so what do you believe...pardon me if I am overstepping..just trying to get to know people here thanks!
  14. To be clear. the second post is mine...no really! for example, when a person in scripture says..'I believe...help my unbelief' that could be me, but at the same time I totally believe The example of the Israelites being led in the wilderness is so often used as a kind of 'don't be like them' example..but I think we..me...are I might be getting philosophical now, but I like to look at things from different angles
  15. num...I am really get confused here would you mind resaying what you said? if you want to continue that is
  16. I think you are saying something I don't know anything about? sorry? I certainly don't reject Jesus is God...so ?
  17. ummm did you read what revelationwriter wrote above? what are your thoughts on that? see, for me, my question is open ended. I don't think I can know for sure? open for discussion by all means though
  18. well sure. look at my post above where I answered thereselittleflower I agree they lacked understanding...no different nowadays though I would think. We still don't really 'get it' on our own. Like there is a disconnect between what we believe or even see or experience. I know I can be that way
  19. well I guess I can 'see' that. however, what scriptures did Jesus expound upon after His resurrection when walking with the disciples (who didn't recognize Him at first) I'm just musing here. Jesus explained about Himself according to prophecy in the OT the passage states. I think the Holy Spirit has to make things 'real' to us no matter which testament we are reading or studying in Anyway, here is the passage I was thinking of from Luke 24 19 “What things?” he asked. “About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. 20 The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him; 21 but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place. 22 In addition, some of our women amazed us. They went to the tomb early this morning 23 but didn’t find his body. They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive. 24 Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but they did not see Jesus.” 25 He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” 27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.
  20. Whaaaaaa? pretty sure I won't be the only one responding that way lol! very confusededed
  21. Hi Revelation I guess Paul et al would be quoting often from the OT (as thereselittleflower above provided the quote for) Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like to have only the OT scriptures to read or draw conclusions from
  22. a bit of a difficult question to answer I think I understand water baptism to be an affirmation of faith in Christ and a desire to follow Him BUT it is also a metaphor for being buried with Him and having your life now in Him, so I'm really not ready to say it will give someone incentive to change I guess I'm saying that I do not think water baptism has the 'power' to change someone? I might also think however, looking on the other side of the coin so to speak, that a person could possibly think a little more of what they are doing before giving in to sin, if they took baptism seriously, that is as a desire to commit not to sin?
  23. OK..that makes sense I didn't think it all that serious either, hence the smilies
