  1. So, after Jesus spoke the words did Peter still have the freedom to not deny Jesus? Could he have changed his mind after that point?
  2. And yet the debate on this topic has waged for centuries with neither side being able to put it to rest
  3. But there is still free will in choosing God, after he reveals His Son to a person, correct? It seems that the answer lies between calvinism and arminianism, in that God only reveals His Son to a select few, but those still have the free will do say "no thanks"...which is why one can find verses to support both sides of the argument.
  4. Most tactics that overwhelm an enemy involve deception, especially when the enemy has superior numbers.
  5. Will there be a sense of “man I wish I had more rewards”...almost an envy? I ask because the idea of different levels of perfect paradise does not make a lot of sense. If the main reward is being with God for all eternity vice burning in hell for all eternity...will anyone care if they are with God in a small mansion vice a larger one?
  6. I am a practical person, not a deep thinking philosopher, I try to live in the reality of the situation. In the Bible God himself directed Gideon to use deception to overcome an enemy. How could it be wrong for me to do so to save the lives of innocents?
  7. Rahab is not the only example we are given by God of this sort of thing. The mid-wives lied about killing the male babies, the Jewish people mislead(lied) when they asked to “borrow” gold and riches from their Egyptian neighbors, Elisha lied when he told the soldiers struck blind by God that “this is not the road and this is not the city”...
  8. Question for you, had you been in Rahab’s position, would you had lied to save the lives of the spies?
  9. It is what she is most known for. Ask 100 Christians who Rahab is and I bet greater than 90 of them mention the lie that saved the lies of the spies.
  10. We live in a fallen world, if I had to choose between telling a lie and the death of innocent people, the lie will be told every time.
  11. And yet Rahab is in the "Faith Hall of Fame" and her main claim to fame is her lie.
  12. We can only judge by what we know and what we are. We are the fallen creation, thus there is a mixture in us.
  13. All things have degrees, as it were. Light and darkness has varying levels of both. Most people have never seen total darkness. While there is no darkness is God, we are told that there are things that He calls abominations, and other things that He does not term that way. Lying is "evil", except when it is done to save the lives of two spies in the Bible. God list things that He loves, seemingly more than other "good" things. Very little in life is black or white.
  14. So, 40 years ago she added a note to make Moore look guilty? Is that your position? Lots of people add dates and locations to yearbooks not signed at the school by people from that school. Makes a ton of sense actually, it helps people remember 40 years later where and when it was written
  15. Actually a lot of people do if their yearbook is being signed by someone outside their normal circle. I have two such annotations in the yearbook from my senior year. We had two famous, world class runners that worked a camp in between cross country and track season that I was a part of and I had them both sign my yearbook and after they were done I added the date, the camp name and the location so that I would always remember when it happened. The accuser never made the claim they were his words, by the way
