Get Offended: Helping you let the opinions of strangers on the internet determine your quality of life
  2. There have been numerous instances of God raising the dead. Elijah and the widow's son, Elisha and another widow's son (God really likes widows I guess), and the apostles restored many people to life. And honestly, raising someone from the dead seems a lot harder than to just put a corpse back together. We are also saying that God is simply going to resurrect these lifeless bodies, nothing says that he is going to take people from Heaven and put them back into these bodies immediately. "Matter cannot be created nor destroyed, it can only be transferred." The original atoms/energy of a person still exist somewhere in the world and if God wanted to he could just place those back in the bodies. I do not see why God cannot do that, give me one instance in the Bible that God couldn't do something because he lacked the power.
  3. I see no usage for your argument. We have already established that God can put the dust of a person back together. God created the universe, and knows everything, he can put a person back together without having to worry about what their remains are now used for with just a word. God doesn't have to repeat every action; just because the Bible didn't say he did something, doesn't mean he can't actually do it. Do you think that God can't make an Iphone simply because the Bible doesn't list him as making an iphone? And even if you insist that you need to see proof in the Bible for something that clearly doesn't need proof, look at Elijah 37
  4. Yea, trying to limit God's power by our modern level of physics is like giving a caveman an Iphone and asking him to build another. These extremes are so far apart that it is basically impossible to even get started. God is, God, and he can do everything and anything he wishes. He can build a universe with a single sentence, explain that with science. The idea that God can't restore dead bodies is ludicrous and is seriously underestimating God's might.
  5. We are clearly on the wrong wavelength here. And why are we now suddenly using Genesis? Is this the verse you want me to read? Genesis 2:7 "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." My position still stands, now please, please, please, tell me what your point is.
  6. I am still confused to what you are asking about. I have given my position in good detail, yet I am not sure of yours. From your earlier comment, you seemed to have expressed disbelief in everything I have stated, which included the rapture and the end times. I don't know how to adequately respond to your claims, because I have no idea what your claims are. If you are talking about God putting the dust of the dead back together, why can't God do that? He made a living breathing creature out of dust, I don't know what is prohibiting him from doing the same again.
  7. Your welcome I am not sure what you have a problem with, or why. I can't really counter your argument without anything to base it on. Would you mind adding specifics? It seems to me that you are having a problem with the whole idea of the Rapture. My last sentence was also just a joke, so don't take it seriously.
  8. Yet another example of the government interfering in people's life and just making things worse.
  9. For some reason the quoting system was bugging. I think the reason why Answers in Genesis avoids that argument is because it is hard to support scientifically, which is kinda their thing. I mean, it seems hard to find evidence that it didn't rain thousands of years in the past. The only real reason the notion exists in because of the Biblical mentions of it.
  10. The phrase"dead in Christ" is referring to the Earthly bodies of Christians who have gone up to meet the Lord. There is no way for a born-again Christ to be spiritually "dead in Christ" this phrase is referring to a physical state of being. Correct me if I am wrong, but every instance of being "dead in Christ" seems to refer to the Rapture. God says that he would call the bodies of the Christian dead up to Heaven before calling the rest. This is one reason I support the idea of Christians being rapture physically as well as spiritually. I am not sure why God will raise the dead bodies first, but the common joke around my church is because the dead have 6 feet further to go than everyone else.
  11. I think that people ought to dress well when going to church. After-all, you are going to God's house, you should put some effort into looking good for Christ. But I don't think a dress policy is the best idea. Certain people simply won't change into something nice, or they might not even have the cash to buy nice clothing. We shouldn't exempt these people from services, but welcome them. But yea, my personal belief is that men should at least wear decent pants and a dress shirt to church, and that women should wear a skirt or dress. But I am not going to force that on anybody, there are far more important things to worry about.
  12. Now, I am new, so I am not 100% of your policies or whatnot, but I believe any topic about the validity of the Bible should be under apologetics. What I have been taught, is that the Earth was in sort of a greenhouse prior to the Flood. The atmosphere was in such a way that water didn't accumulate into rain clouds, but instead ascended like the dew does. This greenhouse kept the Earth cool and moist, perfect for reptiles (aka Dinosaurs.) This could also be a reason why the people wouldn't believe Moses about the Flood. It has never rained before so the people thought Moses was crazy to say that it would rain so much to destroy the world. The onslaught of the Deluge had God breaking that greenhouse and effectively releasing all the stored waters unto the Earth. After the flood, the first rainbow was shown because it never had rained before the deluge.
  13. I have literally used the exact same verses that guy in the video did, to support a pre-trib argument. And it made a lot more sense than his did, the guy I was debating, who is studying to be a theologian, didn't even counter those claims, just did a walk around of those verses. The Tribulation is God's wrath, I see no arguing about it. God sends the horsemen, God has the angels blow the trumpets, God basically overrules the whole event. Satan is just a pawn in God's master plan. God actually protects Jews during the Tribulation so I am not sure why Jews are suddenly being singled out
  14. This is so funny, all the liberals are going to get so furious about this. The hilarious part is that the modern leftists are proposing the opposite. They are literally saying"Hey, lets give our only ally in the Middle East to a bunch of people that hate us!" From a historical, theological, and tactical stance, this makes no sense at all. The only thing they really care for is getting that Muslim vote. The man was clearly just mocking the liberals and their "Political Correctness" with all his Jewish jokes. The last joke was actually pretty funny, referring to the stereotype of Jews being less-than-reputable but brilliant businessmen.
  15. KJV Matthew 21:12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. Anger isn't a bad thing, it is what you are angry at that makes it bad. Jesus was angry that people were utterly defiling God's house. We went in and basically kicked all the sellers out, and flipped their tables of the merchandise. But he had rightful anger when he did that, he wasn't angry because of person or sin, but because they were clearly committing wrong. Christians should stand fast to their beliefs, and not worry about hurting others feelings if they are truly working for the Lord
