Good point Mike, however, the main point of Revelation is that it reveals that Jesus is God, and it points to the timing or the events that lead up to the time when He will return as the King of kings and Lord of lords, this is the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Hi Constant, Very interesting book of the bible with many insights into what is about to take place on the earth. First off, please dont think I am being nit picky here but it is called the book of "Revelation" not Revelations as many call it, please dont be offended, but it is important. The reason this is important, is that the book is about the revelation or unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ. which will not come in many revelations but one unveiling. However it does speak of the events that must take place here on earth before the Lord reveals Himself, better known as His second coming. Revelation 1 1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John, 2 who testified to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near As you see there is a special blessing for the study of this prophecy, so you are doing well in your reading and seeking understanding. Actually every country in the world knows who Jesus is or have heard the Name, the muslims heard and rejected, baddest heard and rejected, rastafarrians (sp?) heard and rejected, etc... There may be some individuals who have not heard of the Name but this is a small percentage, however, lets look at the text: Matt 24:13 "But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. 14 "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. 15 "Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), The gospel has been preached in every nation in the world, this has been fulfilled. Actually we come back with Him and reign with Him for the 1,000 years here on earth not in heaven. Those who have not been born again and have been spared by God from His wrath, will participate in the millinial blessings. After the 1,000 years satan will be released from the abyss and it is these that he will gather together and wage war against Jesus and His saints as DadE has pointed out. These are the ones who have not been born again. Revelation 20:7 When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison, 8 and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore. 9 And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. By the way, there will still be those who sin by those who are not of the Kingdom during this 1,000 year reign, but it will be dealt with immediatly. Which shows that man has a sin nature with or without the devils deception. They will not be able to put the blame on him for their makeup because he will be imprisoned. Mankind has not been thrown into the lake of fire at this point, only the devil, the false prophet and the beast have. I am not even sure if the rebellious angels or demons have been condemned to the lake until the judgement. It really doesnt say as far as I have seen. It is after these 1,000 years that the Great White Throne judgements takes place. Hi Calamus, Intersting questions and I am sure you will get several different views as to what some think it is. I will point one thing out however. There really is nothing that is called "mystery Babylon" If you look in Revelation which is where most people seem to derive this title from it says: Revelation 17:5 and on her forehead a name was written, a mystery, " BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." If you look closely at the verse it says that name was written, a mystery, the mystery is the name "Babylon the great, ......." Whomever she is, she sits on many waters and harlots are sometimes used in scripture to depict those who have turned away from the living God and have joined with the world system and ways. Rev 17:1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, "Come here, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, I believe that it will be made up of false religions and political systems that exsist that are contrary to the true teachings of God that will give their alligence to her. Rev 17:2-3 2 with whom the kings of the earth committed acts of immorality, and those who dwell on the earth were made drunk with the wine of her immorality." And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness; and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns. Now I do have my own views on whom I think this system will be made up of, but I will hold them in check for now. You know, I dont know much about the ICC, so I dont want to make a judgement there, but I like the idea of home fellowships. I think that is where it will eventually go back to, to some extent as opposed to organized religion. It was the way that the early church was and with the way things are going, I see it happening again and often wonder if we should have ever got away from it. I would be willing to bet that there were more that came to Christ in their neighborhoods through home fellowship, as people were probably more accountable to their convictions because of it. But this is just my opinion and I have no facts, but I can definately see the value in it. I attended a home fellowship years back, not sure of the denomination or if they called themselves any particular name, I really dont remember. But the intimacy there was great. I looked at the lyrics to quite a few of the songs and to be truthful, they seem pretty dark. I didnt even see one reference to Jesus or salvation, but one of hopelessness. Just my opinion

Hi O'Dannyboy, I am not sure of the prophetic significance of the article you have sited, but I believe the verses you are thinking of is in Isaiah 11: 5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. 6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. 7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. 9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. There are many words in Revelation and in Daniel that are symbolic. I am just thinking that the mark spoken of will not really be a mark on our body at all. I think that Satan is just using that idea as a distraction from the real issue involved. The real issue is worship. Satan has tried to take God's place ever since he was kicked out of heaven. He wants all people on earth to worship him, not God. No one who is righteous will ever give him the worship he craves. So the only way for him to be worshipped, is by force. He will try to force, deceive, trick people into worshipping him. The Lord gave us a commandment regarding worship. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. It just makes sense that Satan would mess with the 4th commandment. When Jesus was in the desert, Satan came and tempted Him. Jesus used the Word in dealing with Satan. Every word he spoke to Satan he quoted from the book of Deuteronomy. This book gives us the sermon that Moses gave to the Israeli people before he died. Here are just some verses: Therefore you shall dep every commandment which I cammand you today, that you may be strong,... Deut.11:8 Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him. Deut. 8:6 Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments,...Deut. 8:11 Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. Deut. 11:18 Take out your Bible, go to Deuteronomy and mark all the verses that mention the word commandments,ways,law, covenant. It's really amazing. I don't think we will be chipped, or marked, I think it will come down to keeping God's commandments. Jesus states many times in scripture, If you love me, keep my commandments. We do not enter this rest through works of the law, our works are a result of our faith and trust in Him. I too believe that the mark will be a literal mark of some sort, satan is too arogant and will want to show his temporary power. People will not be able to buy or sell without this mark. It will have to be something, that if we dont have it, will prevent those who dont have this mark from doing so. satan is not omni-present and therefore will not know who worships him or not, nor will his followers, without some sort of outward (or inward if it is indeed a chip) mark on the hand or forhead as is written. Silly me, I thought missionaries did that. Which they have done since the earliest days of the church. I thought that pretty much every country of the world had been evangelized before the advent of radio and TV. So I suppose Paul and Silas were wasting their time, without a satellite hookup and a website. What was I thinking? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not every country in the world has been evangelized. There are still millions of people in the world who have never heard the gospel. With TV and satellite, the gospel is able to reach thousands all over the world much quicker than any missionary group. The gospel must be taken to the whole world, every single person. Hi Old Timer, I really dont think this is an accurate, nor a fair statement. I have brought several that support the spirit going to God. The scripture that has been brought forward, was reasoned away. Such as the following Revelation 4:4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones; and upon the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white garments, and golden crowns on their heads. Here John was called up into heaven, he was before the throne of the Father and who else is there? the 24 elders, now this is in real time here. Now notice when one of the elders speaks to John. Rev 5 5 and one of the elders said to me, "Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals." Notice that none of the seals had yet been open, so this is most definately before the rapture as was explained away earlier in the study. We know that the elders are not angels from this verse: Rev 5:11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, Then of course thert is the thief, and Abraham and the poor man, also this verse John 8:56 "Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad." It says that Abraham saw this day when Jesus , God came to Israel, it says that he saw it and was glad. This could not happen if Abraham was sleeping. The thief has not been explained either, it was a good post that you gave , but not convincing, to me anyway. Jesus said this very day! Not it will seem like this very day, go to sleep now. The soul has been explained away as mere breath, I see no scripture that supports this and have given my reasons why.
