    WHY?

‘And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.’ (Eph 3:19) Hello @Yowm, Looking at my Bible marginal notes, I see that the word, 'knowledge', in Ephesians 3:19, is (Gr. gnosis), meaning knowledge acquired by learning, effort, or experience. So, as you have intimated, this knowledge goes deeper than our knowledge. For it is a knowing that cannot be received by self-effort, by learning, effort or by experience, it has to be Divinely revealed. There also has to be a 'strengthening' with might, by the Spirit, in our inner man, before these things can be comprehended (v.16) Praise God, for His wisdom, love and grace! * For this knowledge is unsearchable, having been 'hid' in God, (Eph.3:9), until it's revelation to Paul, following the laying aside temporarily of Israel in unbelief at the end of the Acts period. So, no amount of reading of the Old Testament Scriptures would provide the confirmation usually sought at the reception of new truth. This knowledge concerning The One New Man of Ephesians, Colossians and Philippians was to be received by faith alone: so this is why the inner man needed to be strengthened by the Holy Spirit, to receive it; - hence Paul's prayer. 6. Hello Gideon, If a 'word' is from the Lord it will reflect what is written in the Word of God. It will not go against what is written. It is for every reader to go to the Word of God and check that what is said is indeed from the Lord or not. Can you provide Scriptures that will confirm what you have said, so that we can be assured that what you have received is from the Lord? In Christ Jesus Chris
  7. ‘I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is:- one body, and .. one Spirit, even as ye are called in .... one hope of your calling; ...... one Lord, ........ one faith, .......... one baptism, ............ one God and Father of all, Who is above all, .. and through all, .... and in you all. But unto every one of us is given grace .. according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore He saith, when He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that He ascended, what is it but that He also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that He might fill all things.) And He gave some, apostles; .. and some, prophets; .... and some, evangelists; ...... and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, .. for the work of the ministry, .... for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, .. unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: - That we henceforth be no more children, - tossed to and fro, - and carried about with every wind of doctrine, - by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, - whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, .. may grow up into Him in all things, .... Which is the head, even Christ: ...... From Whom the whole body ........ fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, .......... according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, ............ maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.’ (Eph.4:1-16) Praise His Holy Name!
  8. ‘That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.’ ‘If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: ... ‘ ‘But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.’ (1 John 1:3, 6-7)
  9. ‘And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.’ (Eccl. 12:12)

    WHY?

‘For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That H would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.’ (Eph. 3:14-21)
  15. ‘By slothfulness the building decays; and through lowering of the hands the house leaks.’ (Eccl. 10:18) Praise God!
  16. ‘A fool also makes many words; a man knows not what they shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him?’ (Eccl. 10:14)
  17. @Heleadethme, Hi there, I particularly like this reference to a tree in Job 14:7-9 'For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.’ * As you will see it is set in contrast with the death of a man in the verses that follow in verses 10-15:- ‘ But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he? As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up: So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands. ‘ Praise God! - for - Resurrection life!

Rom_11:17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Rom_11:24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree? 20. Yes, and the number of the songs of degrees in total was 15. Praise God! For His precision.
  21. Re. Hezekiah and the sundial of Ahaz. 1) What was the number of the 'songs of degrees' that Hezekiah wrote as a result of God's sign to him (re.the sundial) and what was it's significance? (There are 15 songs of degrees in all, but not all of them were written by Hezekiah)
