  1. With all the talk about OSAS and Legalism and Repenting and all this STUFF......... I thought it would be a good idea to show you an idea of how to think about salvation so that its really made to be understood ....as so very simple. Here we go.. Adam had the righteousness of God. He was made this way....(let us make man in our image....same as us, regarding spirituality)........Adam had God's Spirit in him. He was "righteous"......exactly like God. When he disobeyed, ate the apple...... He lost his Righteousness...and he spiritually died. ..He was no longer ONE with God, and had became "fallen"....or you could think of it as..,,,,, disconnected from God's Spirit and LIFE. Salvation is God reconnecting you to him, exactly as Adam was connected to God, before He fell. So, What had to happen so that WE who have this "adamic nature", this unrighteousness as our very spiritual SELVES........... what had to happen so that we could AGAIN be like the 1st Adam,= "sinless", "righteous? What had to happen, so that we could be reestablished as the same RIGHTEOUS, as the original Adam? Well, Jesus, the 2nd Adam, had to come and die, and give us HIS Righteousness, so that we are reestablished like Adam was spiritually..... before Adam the 1st lost his righteousness. See it? So, Salvation, is God reestablishing us, as the same RIGHTEOUSNESS, as Adam had before he fell. Its the same "one with God" in Spirit, that is our "born again" redemption. This is the effect of being BORN AGAIN......we are SPIRITUALLY remade the same as the 1st Adam before he fell, because the 2nd Adam, (Jesus), took our sin and died for it all, and gave us in place of our sin, ..his very righteousness. "the gift of Righteousness". So, this recreates us...(born again) to be the same as Adam was, SPIRITUALLY, BEFORE HE FELL. This is what Salvation does for us. This is BORN AGAIN.< blessings, <B><
  2. Lets define "legalism" as defined by Paul, as Webster is not using the NT as context. "Legalism" is Galatians 1:8 ""there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. [8] But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let them be accursed. """" Notice that Legalism, taught or preached, "perverts" the Gospel. It subverts the Blood Atonement. It actually attacks the Cross, by denying Jesus full credit do for saving you and keeping you saved. It offends God, and that is why he curses the person and the message. Legalism, is the teaching that "faith + works" is what saves you and keeps you saved. And this "gospel" is a perversion of the truth. Its actually a denial of the Lord's words..spoken from the Cross = "it is Finished"....meaning The Blood Atonement.....Salvation. Let me explain it more clearly.... This verse is referring to a person (Legalist) who is preaching a gospel that is a blend of Jesus, the Cross, and their Works. (commandment keeping, enduring to the end, holding onto their faith.....etc, etc, etc.) Legalism, a Legalist, will give lip service, = a false presentation of the Gospel. And the way they always do it, is by adding 10 commandment keeping, and lifestyle, as a PART of the Blood Atonement. In other words, the Legalist, who is usually not actually born again, but is very apt at speaking "christianese", and uses bible verses, and goes to different Christian fourms to annoy and create chaos......will always defend the LAW and 10 Commandments as "necessary" to be saved, instead of giving FULL CREDIT DUE, to the One who died on the Cross, who HIMSELF is Grace and Salvation. Here is how you spot a lying legalist on a Christian forum. Its so easy. THis is how they "sound". "Yes, i know that Christ is the savior......BUT". "yes, i know that Jesus saves......BUT" See that "but"? That is the sign of the Legalist. They can never EVER agree that Jesus and the Blood of Christ is all that God accepts to save you and keep you saved. They can't agree with this, because they do not believe it. A Legalist, will always, add WORKS, 10 commandments", TO THE CROSS, and then they will all add LIFESTYLE, as well.., as this is how they are "working out their own salvation". The gospel of the legalist, is "faith + works". The Gospel of God is "The Cross". See their problem? Its a BIG One. A legalist sounds like this when they teach or preach....>."""now we know that Jesus saves, but, you ALSO have to ..........1. 2. ....3. 4.. 40.....do all this"" See all that? THAT IS Galatians 1:8 THat is "cursed of GOD" theology and PERSON, because it is adding to the Cross, self righteous works, and this denies The Lord His full credit due, for Salvation. This offends God, who is Jesus on the Cross, and that is why there is a literal CURSE on anyone who teaches or preaches that ... "The Cross + Works, commandments, lifestyle" is the Gospel.....is Salvation. How do YOU discover if you have fallen from Grace, and you are become a legalist. ?? Very simple. You just answer this simple question. Q.) Do you believe that Jesus Christ keeps you saved? I didnt ask you if He saved you. I asked you if you believe that He KEEPS You saved? A Legalist is not being honest if they say yes, because a legalist believes that enduring to the end, keeping your faith, living a holy life, keeping the law and the 10 commandments, is what is keeping THEM saved., so that is why they preach this cursed of God gospel to others. So, be careful reader, as a legalist has deceived themselves, so, that is what they will also offer you. B
  3. Musing about heaven ~ My first day in heaven never ends, it never turns to night. In heaven I know everyone, we all know each other. No-one and nothing annoys me in heaven and no-one is annoyed by me. We all love each other and are united in Christ as we never cease worshipping God in all we do. My spiritual body never goes wrong in heaven. In heaven I don't need sleep. Nothing bad ever happens or goes wrong, and there are no arguments in heaven. Everyone is like Christ. 1Jn 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
  4. Gospel : Paul teaching = "preaching of the Cross". "we preach Christ Crucified"..."Jesus sent me not to baptize but to preach the Gospel".."faith comes by hearing this"..... So, all that, if believed by an unbeliever resolves an eternal issue...... What is the issue? What is God's purpose for coming to earth to die as Jesus The Christ on a Cross? What is He doing?...What is He alone solving, that all our 10 commandment keeping and holy lifestyle can never solve, which is WHY HE had to solve it? ? And right here is what is so often misunderstood, or not taught correctly, and this is why so many people who mean well, and love Jesus, or would like to love him, do not understand <>WHAT IS<> the actual reason that God came here to die. So what is that reason? The reason, is that keeping the law, the 10 commandments, and doing good works, confessing sin, and living as holy as we can, could not make us acceptable to God.. And here is the "catch 22".... It also can't AFTER you are saved. And right here is where "Legalism vs Grace" becomes the touchstone of constant fighting on forums, and everywhere else that it can show up where believers WILL clash. (Apparently this clash became such a long standing fight and fury on this forum that members here are barred from posting- fighting about it.) It is a fact and statement of the CROSS that the law and the 10 Commandments can't make you righteous, they can only show you that you are unrighteous., as that is the actual purpose of the Law, as well as outlining what God expects regarding our basic moral conduct & behavior, once we are born again. So, how can it be that half the body of Christ is trying to keep all this, all these works, and they believe that this is "keeping them saved". Whereas the other half of the body of Christ is trusting in Jesus to keep them saved. So, do you see the line in the sand? Its this " What is keeping you SAVED"....that is the minefield of theological confusion. THATS the fight. Legalism vs Grace. Its happening on every forum like this one, and its the reason for 5000 denominations that don't agree, and 300 bibles that don't agree. This issue started with Paul and his preaching of "justification by Faith" >alone, and he wrote the letter to the Galatians that talks about it, and explains it. 2000 yrs later, this issue of Legalism vs Grace is still a fist fight between those who say they are "Christians". Isn't it interesting to realize that if the 10 commandments, or lawkeeping, or living holy, could save you or keep you saved, if that were the truth, then Jesus could have stayed in Heaven and saved Himself some PAIN..... But ita not the case. Now im not certain what you have been taught, but i teach that you "present your body a living sacrifice" and you to "live holy as God is holy", not to save yourself or keep yourself saved, but because this is what you should do, and what God expects, .. because you ARE saved. The Legalist would argue that .."no, you do it to stay saved", and if you don't then you're not. I wonder, reader, what you believe. So, leaving all that now, lets just look at the problem that God had to come here and solve for us, as to look at this, is to understand the reason for Salvation which is to understand Salvation. Our problem we had, before we were saved, is only one thing, one issue only. And God Himself had to solve it, because we can't. We are born, and we get older, and we don't have any righteousness. None. And so, God can't accept us, because we are UNRIGHTEOUS. This is "lost", "unsaved"....hellbound = we don't have any RIGHTEOUSNESS< as all of ours, are "filthy rags". So, in steps SALVATION... Down from Heaven God as The Christ arrives... The Cross has been raised.... As God bleeding out on the "tree" has come down from Heaven to give us HIS righteousness so that He can accept us, based on THAT.......and for no other reason will He accept you, or me. God, literally became a man, and died on a Cross, to GIVE US "the righteousness of Christ". (God's very own righteousness). And that is what salvation actually is....Its God coming to earth to give us His righteousness so that HE can accept us, as by giving us His very righteousness, this makes us acceptable to God. Welcome to Salvation. Salvation is only.... "what makes you acceptable to God"....and that is one thing, its GOD'S Righteousness, becoming ours. A born again person, has literally BECOME "the righteousness of Christ", and Christ is GOD. To say that God's Grace is amazing, is really the least of what it is... How can you describe the wonder of God, dying to give you His righteousness in place of your unrighteousness, as a free Gift? Is there a word that can even claim to honor this spiritual transaction enough? Just one. LOVE. Agape` Love. God is LOVE blessings, <B><
  5. I have been studying eschatology for more than 30 years now. Originally I believed in a pre-tribulation rapture because frankly it was the only view I had ever heard. One day I was listening to the radio and heard a man mentioning the fact that there were other views on the topic. This got my curiosity up and I decided to study the Bible myself and see if I could discover what the Bible itself actually taught about these things. I was really serious about it. The method I chose to employ was to read the Bible from Genesis through the Book of Revelation and write down every verse or passage that I believed spoke to the issue of the timing of the sequence of the Rapture of the Church with respect to the Great Tribulation. This took me eight months to accomplish. Once I had all of my notes, I copied them onto Post-it notes so that I could arrange them in a chronological sequence if something in the verse or passage had a clue about the order in which it fit with respect to the other verses and passages. This was done on a 4' x 8' sheet of particleboard laid out on a folding table. I tell you this in case you want to try this yourselves sometime to let you know what it takes and what you will be in for. My wife died recently and I myself am aging and have had some recent health issues. This has brought into focus the fact that my own time on earth may be limited. Actually this is true of every one of us, no one knows the time of their own death. You could have a stroke, or be in a car accident tomorrow. In Eschatology, the study of the last things, we usually think in terms of things prophesied in the Bible that are yet to come. Things like the Rapture of the Church, the Great Tribulation, the Second Coming of Jesus, Armageddon, the Millennium, these sorts of things. While many of us believe that Jesus could come at any moment, few of us really live as though we expect that to happen. We understand that it has been about 2000 years so far, and that casts some doubt our hearts and minds about whether he will really come today or tomorrow or even in a week or this year. Though I have always realized intellectually that my personal time on earth, my own life, could end in a moment, it is the events of this last year but it made me thoughtfully confront the reality of my limited time. What this means then is that no matter how delayed Jesus second coming might be, I will likely be face-to-face with Jesus within 10 or 20 years. Eschatology is then therefore not limited to the study of the last things predicted in the Bible, but we each have our own personal last days which are contained within our natural lifespans. Some people say that if it is true that Jesus will not be coming back until after the great tribulation that that removes the motivation to live as we should so that we will be found doing what we should be doing when he does return. I want to say to you that if that is what you think: "Shame on you!" The motivation to live correctly should not be a concern to not be caught failing to live as we should be living when Jesus comes at the end of the age. Jesus suffered and died on the cross for our sins. Gratefulness for our undeserved salvation should be more than enough motivation to live within the will of God without concern of the question of when Jesus will return. When we are not living correctly, we have already been 'caught'. The Holy Spirit is inside us if we are believers. God is omnipresent. Whatever we do, we drag Jesus with us. Nothing we do, nothing we say, nothing we think, goes unnoticed by God. So I think then, that for those of us who think that a pre-tribulation rapture of the church is a motivation to live rightly, with that thinking we are inclining ourselves to living wrongly. Rather than to live holy lives out of the gratitude we have for what Jesus has done for us - rather than live as dedicated servants who owe him everything - rather than realize that we are not our own but have been purchased - some of us shamefully take his grace as a license to sin because we know we have been forgiven. We live worldly lives because we think in our hearts that our master is delaying his return, even while we say with our lips He might return at any moment. Those of us who think and act in this manner are self deceived and we are hypocrites. In June of 2014, a couple months ago as I write this, I had the great privilege of delivering a sort of eulogy at my wife's memorial service. Gathered there were friends and family some of whom are believers, some who were not, and some who think they are believers and don't even understand what the difference is. It had been on my wife's heart for years that many of her family were likely destined to suffer in eternity. I know that like me, she was dissatisfied with the fact that it is easy to avoid speaking of spiritual things with loved ones because it feels awkward. Personally I feel shame that I have too often avoided that awkwardness and instead of demonstrating love by informing people of their peril, I have been willing to risk their eternal destiny for the sake of my temporary comfort . This is a great sin and I confess that as such and am attempting to repent of it. The eulogy I gave was the first significant step in telling people to re-examine their hearts and their lives and their need of salvation from their sins . This had been on my mind for years but having so many people as a captive audience at a time when the temporary nature of life was so obvious, was an opportunity that could not be passed up. What I was saying then was not just a recap of my wife's life, it was an expression of things that she had left unsaid. Confronting the fact that no matter how long it is before Jesus returns, it is true that we all have limited time left. So I realized that there are two kinds of the end times. There is the near-term end time which is represented by our limited lifespans, and there is the end times for mankind itself which began while Jesus still walked the earth and which we are in today as well. Both types of end times carry the same implications. Time is short, and there is a dying world out there that needs to understand that. Jesus himself near the end of his life told us to go out into the world and to preach the gospel to everyone. This was not a suggestion. Not just a nice idea. It's not optional. It is a command to every believer. Failing to do this is disobedience. It is sin. It is unloving. Penn Gillette, a self-professed atheist, said to the effect: "How much do you have to hate someone to believe that eternal life is possible and then not tell them how to obtain it?" I think those are pretty profound words on the topic for an atheist. It is too bad so many Christians don't get it. I have been one of them. So, in these last days of my own life I have determined to try to improve in a lot of things, but most specifically two things. The first is to be more active, perhaps even aggressive or at least assertive in evangelism. People need to understand that they are sinners. People need to know that their sin separates them from God. People need to understand that unless Jesus saves them from their sins, that separation from God is a permanent condition. They need to understand that that separation from God is a separation from everything good. Imagine if you will, what it would be like to spend eternity apart from good. Where there is no good, only evil remains. I believe that this concept of hell is accurate. I don't even like to think about it. When I try to imagine it, what I imagine is an eternity of suffering and pain, a despondent existence, a type of suffering worse than anything we have yet experienced in our lives while all the time knowing that this condition will be never ending and could have been avoided. What if life was so bad, that you never wanted to awaken, and you could never fall asleep again? If I really consider this all I can do is loathe my own evil and selfish heart, and at the same time feel an indebtedness and gratitude for the Savior who spares me from the eternity that I deserve and am apparently willing to let others earn for themselves. So, evangelism it is. I have to tell people. If I don't, I am a morally hideous monster. We do not need to have any special calling on our life to be ministers of the gospel. Where are all supposed to be evangelists. We do not have to wait for a leading of the Spirit to talk to a person about these things. We have already been told to just do it. Thing is when we realize what is at stake, we should not even have to be told. So then, the most important task that I have in my last days, the thing that I really want to be found doing when Jesus returns or when I go to be with Him if His return is delayed, it is to be telling others about God's love for them in the person of Jesus Christ who suffered and died for their sins to spare them from an eternity separated from God's love and goodness and filled with despair. When Jesus told us to go out into the world and preach the gospel to every creature he did not say to limit ourselves to evangelism. The purpose of evangelism is to make disciples, to make other followers of Jesus, and to teach them everything he taught us. One of the areas that Jesus taught about, that His apostles taught about, and that both Testaments of the Bible speak about frequently, are the end times and especially about warnings not to be deceived in them. So, because I have spent so much of the last three decades studying this area of Scripture, and because there are so many warnings not to be deceived, I feel a special responsibility to obey Jesus and tell other disciples about this topic because some are underinformed while others are deceived. I may at times sound arrogant due to the confidence I have in my understanding of eschatology, the study of the last things. I admit it, I am opinionated, passionate, and confident. When you put those three things together in one person, you have qualities which others may consider to be arrogance, maybe it is. Nevertheless I cannot in good conscience fail to attempt to pass on what I believe I have learned. I have been preparing questions for a trivia game on the topic of eschatology. While doing this I have been studying and reading the writings of others whose views are different than my own. There is one theologian in particular widely regarded as the foremost scholar on his particular viewpoint of eschatology. I have always had great respect for this man even though I disagree with him. He does deserve respect for his love of the Savior and his hard work and dedication to study. This is true of a lot of ordinary Christians as well. However after just having reviewed one of his books, I am finding so many unfounded presumptions, and faulty exercises and logic, that although I may respect his hard work, I have to reject his conclusions. Maybe I really am arrogant. However, even though I know this is redundant, I have to follow my convictions and make disciples, teaching them everything that Jesus taught his first disciples to teach other disciples in an ongoing chain until his return. Perhaps with this you can understand my focus. I hope that you can be patient with me while I am living out my faith and while the process of my own sanctification continues. I urge you, to also consider the shortness of time and make efforts to reach out to those you come in contact with and make a few disciples yourselves. Thanks for listening.
  6. What’s one thing, that no matter what sin you commit, will send you to heaven?
  7. When Calvin wasn't trying to get more people burned at the Stake, he also created theologically backwards ideas like : YOU have no choice about your Salvation....God chose you, and that settles that. So, lets look at this one point of his 5 point "salvation theory" system.... and then compare it to the Grace of GOD, which is OSAS. Now, to believe this, you have to pretend that Free Will, is not in fact, real. And here is the thing.... God is JUST....which means, regarding heaven and hell, and people going there....He would not be JUST, if He denied you the freewill to end up in >either place<. Heaven is a choice. Hell is a choice.. A person, who is breathing, while still an unbeliever.. makes the choice to trust Christ or reject Christ, (Hebrews Ch 4 and 10, Unsaved Hebrews) and GOD accepts their choice now and in eternity, and they get to experience the fruit of their choice, just as soon as they DIE. A Person who ends up in Hell, chose to go there. A person who ends up in Heaven, chose to go there. Jesus is THE WAY.... John 14:6 And if you receive Him as the WAY, you go to heaven, and if you reject Him as the ONLY Way, you go to Hell, and then later, the Lake of Fire. And this is not a myth. Its a FACT and this is a situation that every person reading this and everyone in the entire world, living-breathing... or yet to be born, is going to have to face, unless they die as a baby or a very very young child. Think of it like this. Lets say, as some heretics teach, that God decides you are one of the unlucky ones who is born to go to hell. That God chose you, to go to hell. How can that be JUST ? How could that be right? How could it possibly be that...."God is Love", if He is choosing some for the lake fo fire, just because they were born, and they have no part in the decision. That's the theology of judging God as evil, and its theological insanity to do it, and to teach it... but it is taught and it is believed. There are actually people on this Forum, and on all Christian Forums, that have been taught that some people are born to go to hell, and that God chooses them to go. I know the scriptures they twist to try to prove this Satanic theology, and i won't be quoting them here. No worries. So that theology is demonic, but, what is worse is that this doctrine is absolutely creating the Idea of God, as way beyond the evil of Hitler...... and in fact, its painting God as black as the Devil's heart, but worse, Because, its people pretending they are CHRISTIANS who are vilifying God this way. So, a JUST God, would never behave like this, and in fact....... Father God is a completely Just God. GOD, the Father of Jesus, is so Just, that He allowed the killing of a Sinless Son, to allow for the recreation of the SINNER, into the SINLESS. This is how salvation actually works. God takes the sinlessness of Christ and exchanges it for our Sin, and we end up as righteous as Christ, and Jesus ends up as "became sin" on the Cross and DIES FOR OUR SIN. Reader, the Cross is a SWAP.....Its where God's righteous Son gives us His Righteousness, and He takes all our sin....our entire lifetime of it, and dies for it ALL. = Salvation. = OSAS. And being saved, works exactly the same...regarding God's Justice.. God does not choose some for Heaven, as that is actually the same as choosing some for hell. Its the same thing. That is not how "freewill", "justification by faith", and "Christ in you the hope of Glory". works. God is not going to tell you....in John 3:16 that he'll accept "whosoever", and in another verse. "ALL that believe on Jesus, shall be saved", or "as MANY as will believe"...... God is not going to offer Salvation to any and all, worldwide and universe deep, then choose some for Hell. Yet, there are preachers that preach this message, and their Church is full of people that shout "AMEN" when he speaks about God choosing some for the Lake of Fire. And some of these people, are on this Forum. Salvation is a Free gift. We dont earn it, and God does not force it on anyone, nor does He take it away after we are born again. A born again person, is IN CHRIST....and Christ "in you = hope of HEAVEN, (glory)"". So, when you are dead, you will end up wherever Christ is, and that wont be Hell or the Lake of Fire. The Born again are in Him and He is IN Us, """SEALED unto the day of redemption""", and so, we have to end up where Jesus ends up, as we are IN HIM......IN HIM.....IN HIM. We go where He goes, where He IS, after we die, or are Raptured. Final Answer, is...Salvation is not a temporary situation. This is why The one who SAVES, and KEEPS YOU SAVED, said from the Cross that .. Philippians 1:6. "IT (Salvation) is FINISHED". We dont finish it., we dont keep ourselves saved. Christ said "it is FINISHED"""< and when we are saved, born again, our salvation is FINISHED. Philippians 1:6 OSAS. So, once again, remember that OSAS, only means that Salvation is God saving you, through Faith, when you believe on Christ, and then you become born again, and this can never cease to be your ETERNAL reality, because God Himself has saved you with the Blood of Jesus, and this HOLY Blood's power to redeem, redeems you for all eternity. "IT IS FINISHED". = SALVATION. The Blood that was shed on the Cross is GOD's BLOOD, and that is why it has the Power to keep you saved, and not just start your salvation. That is OSAS. ITs that simple. And no one who simply believes and accepts by FAITH the finished work of JESUS ON the Cross, who would explain it as OSAS...... has ever taught or will ever teach, that because we are always kept saved by God's grace, (BLOOD OF JESUS).. then we can then sin all we like and enjoy it. And you hear this on Forums like this one....These liars lying about OSAS, using the term "license to sin".... Its a lie, (reader).... Reader.....don't believe it. You've noticed that in the last 10 days, i've just basically written a BOOK about Legalism and Legalist here on this Forum, within many Threads, and never have I or would i ever say or teach that ... because the Blood of Jesus saved you and keeps you saved...that you can go out and live in sin and enjoy it. Not quite. Paul said if you do this, and you won't stop, you will die. Romans 8:13 So that is the end result of living in sin, after you are saved. It'll finally cost you your earthly life, but before it does, it'll destroy your life, first. You'll lose everything except your Salvation, if you live in sin, after you are born again. You'll lose your witness, your money, your family, your friends, finally your health, and then you'll die. THATS the result of "living in sin" as a born again believer in Yeshua. But no... it won't cost you your Salvation, as you don't control that part. That part is controlled by the one who " FINISHED IT"< on the Cross, and has created a believer as born again. Born again, this status of a "New creation in Christ", a born again SPIRIT< living inside the corrupt body, is an eternal situation. Hyper-Religious - Self Righteous- Legalists...... flip out when they are told this, because they believe in themselves to stay saved by works...., and so, that is why they can't allow God the Savior to keep them saved if they are..... "bad". But that is exactly what He has already done. He has already taken your LIFETIME OF BAD, and sent Jesus to the Cross to pay for it all so that YOU don't have to pay for it, in ETERNITY. = Salvation. = Grace. = OSAS What actually happens to a Legalist, who is saved .... who USE TO BE a Legalist, but has seen the Light of the Cross and now trusts in Christ alone to keep them saved......This person is freed from the impossible burden of trying to keep themselves saved, and they find that this frees them to actually live a more holy life then they were trying to live as a legalist. As now they are committing to their "be holy as God is holy" lifestyle that God EXPECTS, = = EMPOWERED by God's GRACE, instead of by their FLESH. Flesh fails, Grace doesn't. A Legalist, who has come to see the Light of Grace in the Face of Jesus, = the finished blood atonement, finds that living for the Lord becomes empowered by Grace, which allows you more self control then they ever had when they were trying to work to stay saved, and were always failing and confessing, failing and confessing............ always feeling condemned, always feeling guilty.........>. Grace, OSAS,..... once you come to realize this truth that God who saved you, will KEEP YOU SAVED, HIMSELF. Philippians 1:6. .....then (Grace understood) will empower you to live the Holy Life. That's the effect of the Grace of God, as its the Power of Christ's Blood having this empowering effect on you, simply because you understand it properly. Understand....."revelation" "seeing the Light" is not just comprehension of theological data, but it is in fact, LIFE POWER from GOD which empowers you to be what God wants you to be. "God's Grace" OSAS.
  8. Behold

    Focus help

I wanted to talk to you about the Devil. Don't hear a lot about Him....... not in church, not on forums. Notice this? You'd almost get the idea from the lack of real discussion about this "angel of light", that he's basically a myth. But i assure you he's not. He's working behind the scenes and often from the pulpit, in the form of bad theology, 300 doctrinally watered down "new bibles", and of course, 5000 denominations that are all in perpetual disagreement, are certainly not God's design. See, when the Devil is working, there is always one sure situation, in play. "Confusion". So, let me show you how He tries to work in your life, and does. I'll show you his #1 operation, in effect, against you, always. Always. Its very simple. He is always trying to get your Focus off of The Lord, and serving HIM< and unto anything else. That's Job #1 for the Devil. Focus control. And why? Because what you focus on, is what you spend your time DOING....and your TIME is your LIFE. TIME is LIFE. So, if the Devil can steal or redirect your focus, He is now controlling your time, and once He has your TIME, he runs your LIFE........ Saint. So, Let me give you an idea. AS Compared to the time you spend on this forum, or that you spend Texting.... How much TIME do you spend doing this, vs, studying the word, praying, praising God, witnessing, helping others, or teaching a new believer about GRACE... Hebrews 13:9 ??? TIme is LIFE, Saint, and you have to guard it, so that you can use it wisely, for God. Guarding your heart, is guarding your Time. And how should you use your Time wisely for God? You answer this question(s)..... is how to find out. Does God have all of you? Does God have everything you have? Are you giving Him your VERY BEST? And you say......."well, im not a preacher, or a teacher, etc, etc, etc. Ok......but what you can do.....is more then you believe, so, does God have all that? Does He have all of you? That's the question. Does God have......ALL.......OF........YOU ???????????? Ask it inside your own heart, as you dont need to post it here, as that is not the point....is it? This is between you and God., as this is what matters. Just YOU and HIM. Ok, now, i will give you something to think about, that if you will discipline yourself to consider every day, it will have the effect of helping you focus your LIFE....towards God. Ok? So, here is the thought. You are going to die., and then this happens.. >"absent from the Body and Present with the Lord". That is going to happen to you, if you are born again. Count on it....Believe it, as you are headed there, and it could be anytime, as all of us are exactly one heartbeat removed from that Meeting. Listen......in your local Newspaper, you have an Obituary Page. And on it today, are the names of people, who, i promise you.... 1 day ago, never thought they would be found dead in it today. Saint, Hebrews 9:27 is not just a possibility. Its a FACT. Now, if you will , everyday of your life, just for a moment, consider that you are going to meet Jesus, and He is going to speak with you about something. Its this...."What have you done in MY BODY.. .with the TRUTH YOU WERE GIVEN, and that Truth is ME"........John 14:6....."I am THE TRUTH". Saint, .... Jesus is going to gently and lovingly ask every Believer, when we meet Him... what we did with our lives, <>for Him<>, (everyday) after we became Born Again. This is going to happen to each of us. And so.... if you will spend a few moments at the beginning of every day you live, from now on, till you are also found in that OBIT Page... you will begin to realize areas in your life where the Devil is robbing you of your TIME focus , that is actually constantly stealing your life AWAY FROM your Lord and your God.
  9. A very close family friend that was practically a grandmother to me died June of 2017. And I’m very worried about where she ended up. She was a holocaust survivor, and a very kind hearted woman. She dedicated her life to traveling the world since for the first 12 years of her life she was stuck in a concentration camp. Also, her whole family was killed in front of her, and she lost her husband to cancer. The thing I’m worried about is that she was Jewish and was also very scientific and usually was skeptical about god, but she was the nicest woman I’ve ever gotten to know. So is she in heaven?
  10. Every now and then I can use a bit of confirmation that I'm doing the right things that Jesus ordered, as you may have noticed. That the signs point in the right direction, with an eye on the afterlife i.e. the Real Life. In my working life I developed a lot of 'scorecards' and now I found an interesting one that estimates or simulates no less than the future of my soul: Heaven or hell? All a bit presumptuous maybe, and I therefore really hope that this Achille Christian guy has thought very very well about the 40 questions an angel asks me in this 'game'. With God's Mercy set to 50% I'm going to Heaven all right. I'll have to try with 100% and 0%. For Roman Catholics, purgatory was optionally included. Maybe somebody on this forum is willing to make the effort of checking if the questions make good sense (I think reproducing the list here is not allowed). We still won't see the actual weighting, though. I saw a free version with 15 questions.

  12. I would not be surprized if this video is not already in here, but I figured it was faster to make a new post, that to find one here. I wanted to be able to make reference to this in another thread, so here it is:
  13. In Colossians 3:2 we are told to: "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." Too many people and Christians are so earthly-minded that they are of no heavenly good. Jesus told to us to “lay up treasures in heaven.” Matthew 6:20. In view of the difficulties of this world and of the treasures of heaven, we do well to focus constantly on heaven. Aim: 1. To show us what great things await us in heaven. 2. To comfort us concerning those who have gone to heaven. 3. To motivate us to tell people how they may get to heaven. 1. THE BIBLE TEACHES US THAT THERE ARE THREE HEAVENS The first heaven is earth’s atmosphere, "the heaven gave rain". James 5:18. The second heaven is outer space, "the stars shall fall from heaven". Matthew 24:29. The third heaven is the throne of God, "New Jerusalem which cometh down out of heaven from my God." Revelation 3:12. Paul says in II Corinthians 12:2-4, "I knew a man in Christ...caught up to the third heaven." 2. NAMES OF HEAVEN a) "Thine eyes shall behold the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off." Isaiah 33:17. b) "Ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance." Hebrews 11:16. i) "He was caught up into paradise." II Corinthians 12:4. 3. WHEN WE DIE WHERE DO WE GO? a) At death, the spirits and souls of believers go immediately to heaven, and the body "sleeps" in the earth until Christ's second coming when we will be caught up to rejoin our spirits &souls. “To be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” II Corinthians 5:8. “Them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.” I Thessalonians 4:14. “For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven.” Colossians 1:5. “But ye are come unto Mt Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem.” Hebrews 12:22. “But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly.” Hebrews 11:16. “Knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance” Heb. 10:34 “To an inheritance.....reserved in heaven for you.” I Peter 1:4. “I heard a great voice of much people in heaven.” Revelation 19:1. “Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.” Matthew 6:20. “Where I am (heaven), there shall also my servant be.” John 12:26. “I go and prepare a place for you.....that where I am (heaven), there ye may be also” John 14:3 “We know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved (physical death), we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” II Corinthians 5:1. b) At Christ’s return to earth in glory, believers will return to earth with Christ. "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights..." James 1:17. Question: Do you acknowledge God as having given you everything good? m) God assigns angels in heaven to each child who is born in order to bring that person to hear the gospel, so that they will receive Christ as Saviour and have eternal life. Matthew 18:10. n) God's Word which we have in our hands is settled forever in heaven. It is heavenly and without error. We can confidently build our life on it. "For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven." Psalm 119:89. o) The permanence of our heavenly possessions comfort us when we lose our earthly possessions. Hebrews 10:34. p) An inheritance reserved in heaven for you, that fadeth not away. I Peter 1:4,5. q) Saved people from every kindred, tongue, people and nation will be there. Revelation 5:9. Are you really sure of going to heaven? Are you really living for Christ and for eternity? Are you working to get lost people saved and into heaven?
  14. I have heard that many Christians do not believe that hell is real. I found this to be absurd, but I am open to hearing both sides of the argument. So that is what has lead me to proposing this question, is Hell real? If it is or is not please explain. P.S. I for one do believe it exist. Sorry for the pun in the poll but is just too much for me to resist.
  15. If someone doesn't know about Christ, and has never heard of Christ, then where do they go when they die? I can provide an example if requested.
  16. Shabbat shalom, everyone. Sometimes, strange comparisons come to mind, and this is one of the strangest. HOWEVER, it is also one that I feel not only explains my position on "Heaven," but also shows why it became necessary to have such a position. I grew up on wonderful movies like "White Christmas" with Bing Crosby, "It's a Wonderful Life" with Jimmy Stewart, and "The Naughty Nineties" with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. Here's an excerpt from the "Who's On First" routine that Abbott and Costello did for the movie: (This was found at Baseball-Almanac.com.) It's a GREAT routine, and Abbott and Costello were probably the ONLY team that could have delivered it so hilariously! Now, here's the comparison: Who : Naturally :: Kingdom : Heaven. This is read, "'Who' is to 'Naturally' as 'Kingdom' is to 'Heaven.'" "Going to Heaven" is as bad to say as "picking up the ball and throwing it to Naturally!" Let me explain in terms of English grammar: "Who" is the guy's nickname; therefore, Abbott used it as a personal noun (and not a "personal PROnoun," either)! However, Costello is hearing it as an interrogative pronoun. "Naturally" is used by Abbott as an adverb, but Costello reasons that THIS is the personal noun! "Heaven" is NOT a "place" for which we are destined. We are destined for the Kingdom of God ruled by the King, God. It is called the "Kingdom of God" which means it is "God's Kingdom." God's Representative (His "Messiah"; His "Mashiyach"; His "Anointed"; His "Christos"; His "Christ") will be its PHYSICAL King, who is ONE with His Father, God, and who will be VISIBLE to the world! John 1:18 (KJV) 18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. The Messiah's Kingdom is described this way by the angel Gavri'el (Gabriel) to Miryam (Mary, Yeshua`s mother): Luke 1:30-33 (KJV) 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS (Greek: Ieesous = Aramaic: Yeeshuwa`). 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. He was both the son of his ancestor David the King and the "Son of the Highest" because of these passages of Scripture: 2 Samuel 7:1-17 (KJV) 1 And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies; 2 That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains. 3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the LORD is with thee. 4 And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying, 5 Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in? 6 Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle. 7 In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar? 8 Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel: 9 And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth. 10 Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime, 11 And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house. 12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. 14 I WILL BE HIS FATHER, AND HE SHALL BE MY SON. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: 15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee. 16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever. 17 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David. This scene was repeated in 1 Chronicles 17: 1 Chronicles 17:1-15 (KJV) 1 Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD remaineth under curtains. 2 Then Nathan said unto David, Do all that is in thine heart; for God is with thee. 3 And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying, 4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in: 5 For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another. 6 Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built me an house of cedars? 7 Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler over my people Israel: 8 And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth. 9 Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning, 10 And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all thine enemies. Furthermore I tell thee that the LORD will build thee an house. 11 And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom. 12 He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever. 13 I WILL BE HIS FATHER, AND HE SHALL BE MY SON: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee: 14 But I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore. 15 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David. These passages are NOT talking about Shlomoh (Solomon); they are talking about David's SEED! Furthermore, David acknowledged that YHWH GOD was King, not just himself! He recognized GOD as HIS King! Psalm 5:1-2 (KJV) 1 {To the chief Musician upon Nehiloth, A Psalm of David.} Give ear to my words, O LORD (YHWH), consider my meditation. 2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. So, the KINGDOM OF GOD will be ruled by the Messiah Yeshua`, and the KINGDOM OF GOD is our destiny! "Going THROUGH THE HEAVENS (THE SKIES) to get to the Messiah's Kingdom and be there forever" is just a truth that unfortunately has been misinterpreted to "GOING TO HEAVEN to be there forever!" Again, here is how Strong's Exhaustive Concordance lists "ouranos" in its Greek Dictionary: 3772 οὐρανός, οὐρανοῦ, ὁ. Perhaps from the same as oros (through the idea of elevation); the sky; by extension, heaven (as the abode of God); by implication, happiness, power, eternity; specially, the Gospel (Christianity) -- air, heaven(-ly), sky. Now, I know that it is also called "THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN," but one must understand that the Greek uses the words "HEE BASILEIA TOON OURANOON" (using "EE" for an eta and "OO" for an omega), the "-oon" (omega-nu) ending being the plural ending for both the noun "ouranos" and its article "ho." In Koine Greek, there are 8 cases for a noun: the nominative (which acts as the subject in a sentence), the genitive (translated with an "of"), the ablative (translated with a "from"), the locative (translated with an "in" or an "at), the instrumental (translated with a "with" or a "by"), the dative (translated with a "to" or a "for"), the accusative (which acts as the direct object in a sentence), and the vocative (as though one is talking TO the noun, acting as an appositive). However, in CLASSICAL Greek (Attic Greek), there are only FIVE cases: the nominative, the genitive, the dative, the accusative, and the vocative. In Classical Greek, the genitive case can be used for BOTH the traditional genitive and origins of the ablative case! Thus, one can also translate Classical genitive case as either "of" or "from" in English. Indeed, even in the Koine Greek, the genitive and ablative cases are SPELLED THE SAME WAY! (That's also true about the locative, instrumental, and dative cases; they also are all spelled the same as each other.) My point is that the words, "hee basileia toon ouranoon," could also be translated as "the kingdom FROM the skies (the plural)," speaking not about "ownership" but about "ORIGIN!" One may have ASSUMED a genitive case when it should have been considered to be an ablative case! Yeshua` SHALL come again, not just to "judge the world," although He will certainly do that. He is to be its KING! As I've said before, one of the roles of the King of Israel was to be its "Supreme Court Justice!" Lesser judges could handle the easier matters of judgment, but when necessary, they could escalate the matter to the King who would then be the FINAL SAY in the matter. He is to rule and reign, both over Israel and its tributaries until He has conquered ALL the nations of the earth! Some shall submit willingly; some shall submit reluctantly to save their economies; many will resist. He shall "rule them with a rod of iron," and He shall "subdue all His enemies" until the last enemy, death itself, is finally subdued, as well. This will take a THOUSAND YEARS to accomplish (Psalm 2:1-12; 1 Corinthians 15:20-28; 2 Peter 3:7-12; Revelation 20:1-7). All this must be accomplished BEFORE the Great White Throne Judgment after the final Resurrection, after which Yeshua` shall turn the Kingdom - the WORLD EMPIRE at that time - over to His Father. It's not until AFTER all this, that God allows His New Jerusalem to come down out of the sky to the New Earth with its New Sky to be what many have called "Heaven on earth." It will be THEN that God "wipes away all tears" and "creates all things new."
  17. I read the entire "Christian's going to hell" thread and was about to jump in with my own reply. I did not realize the limitations of this forum section. I suppose that is fine. I got a lot out of what was discussed but still struggle with some of it. I get all the points of views, proof, beliefs and such. I am not trying to call out or trap anyone. I am a baby Christian and have honest questions for clarification. I pray we can all come to an agreement on God's word and truth. I was hoping we could base the discussion on Matthew 25 ( https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=matthew+25&version=NIV ) and how it related to the thread I could not jump in on. My question is this. Does Matthew 25 add or take away from any and all posts made there by *everyone*? I have more specific questions too. The ten virgins for starters, do they not represent Christians covered in the blood of Jesus? I am not clear on the oil in their lamps as well. I suppose it could relate to my above general question. I am wrestling with all this. I believe I am a born again Christian. I have faith in my salvation. I am concerned about others I care for and love. I will elaborate and add more enquiries as this thread develops. May opportunities open to know and understand the Holy Trinity better. Be well, content and helpful in the Lord.
  18. Our Heavenly Father, whose Son is thee door to heaven, Holy Spirit lovingly teaching us meaning of your name. I continue to confess, apologize for, rebuke and repent from surfacing sin. May your revival usher in your kingdom according to your will with ours bent to it. May our leaders own up to their power and responsibilities by declaring and enabling your rule, reign and sovereignty. May they be careful and aware of their extreme influence. May we awake and arise to these times of spiritual crisis from which all other curses fester. May we acknowledge Jesus Christ as living water from whom all healing and restoration flows. Forgive us Lord for our distractions, false idols and sin in place of You. We are near rock bottom and have only You to save us. Have mercy on our souls. May You revive us and have us grow, ripe for harvest. Lest we forget the folly and fate of our past. We have You to thank and draw us near in times of desperation. I call upon your terms, cleanse the church to make Christ's body fit for the good Lord's fight, already won, rescue more lost souls. I dare cry "bloody murder" yet truth being told with our Saviour sacrificing himself. All who believe in him live eternally ever after. In Jesus Christ's pure perfect holy name I pray, amen. GregoryB
  19. Some 10 years ago, during a very difficult time of my life, the Lord led me to listen to a particular praise and worship CD 24/7. I had it playing in my home and in my vehicle if I went someplace. Many times, the Lord would draw me to spend time in His presence, just to fellowship and to pour myself out to Him (as He still does) and those are some very intense and powerful times. One night, I had gone to sleep with the CD playing softly, as I had for weeks... and I was given a dream: I dreamed I was at a Christian retreat in the mountains and there was a handful of us gathered together. Everyone had their mind on the Lord, and I could hear the most indescribably beautiful music... after a bit, one person stood and prayed and then when they were done, the next person, and then the next, and the next.... what was amazing is that each person's prayer sounded like a song... like individual stanzas to one beautiful Heavenly song! And when each person had sung their prayer, then everyone joined in one accord and prayed powerfully on behalf of a person I knew. The entire time, this Heavenly music was playing. When I woke, I was still hearing that Heavenly music, and then it faded into the song that was playing on my CD player... a song by Paul Baloche, "No Eye Has Seen." When I awoke, it was still the middle of the night, and I was praying in the Holy Spirit, intercession for this woman/friend. After a bit, I fell back to sleep. Later that day, I wrote an email to a mutual friend and told her about the dream and the song. She then relayed it to the woman I dreamed about (who we prayed for in the dream). What we discovered is that she had been going through some difficulty and had some things she was seeking answers for from God. She had gone to that Christian retreat to spend time seeking God... and the night of my dream was her first night there. __________________ When I listen to music, and sing along, it is from my heart and spirit to Him. (I can carry a tune, but my voice is nothing spectacular, imo.) But what I'm wanting to emphasize is.... worship is a lifestyle, a state of the heart .... and even our prayers are worship ... everything we do (as unto the Lord) is worship. When our heart has a revelation of His goodness and love, one can't help but burst with His praises! I can see that it is your heart to worship Him... you've acknowledged some things that have hindered the outflow... I believe God sees and will honor your desire to worship and praise Him. 1 Corinthians 2:9 “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” Psalm 95:1 "O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation." Psalm Chapter 150 1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. 2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. 3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. 4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. 5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. 6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
  20. Shalom, everyone. I know that this will be unpopular and some will say downright alarming, but we are NOT told that we go to heaven when we die. As I've said in other threads, the "soul" is NOT independent from the "body." Genesis 2:7 bears repeating: Genesis 2:7 (KJV) 7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. In Hebrew (transliterated), this is... B'reeshiyt 2:7 (JPS Tanakh) 7 Vayiytser YHWH Elohiym et-haa'aadaam `aafaar min-haa'adaamaah vayipach b'apaayv nishmat chayiym vayhiy haa'aadaam l-nefesh chayaah: 7 Vayiytser = And-formed YHWH = YHWH; the-LORD; ADONAI Elohiym = God et- = (the next word is the direct object) haa'aadaam = the-man `aafaar = of-the-dust min-= from haa'adaamaah = the-ground vayipach = and-he-breathed b'apaayv = in-his-nostrils nishmat = a-puff chayiym = of-living-things vayhiy = and-became haa'aadaam = the-man l-nefesh = to-an-air-breather chayaah: = living: Therefore, God FORMED the MAN, NOT the BODY of the man! And, the MAN became a living air-breather once air was puffed into his nostrils. Furthermore, the term "soul" IS this "air-breather." Strong's dictionary say it like this: 5315 nefesh (NEH-fesh). From naafash; properly, a breathing creature, i.e. Animal of (abstractly) vitality; used very widely in a literal, accommodated or figurative sense (bodily or mental) -- any, appetite, beast, body, breath, creature, X dead(-ly), desire, X (dis-)contented, X fish, ghost, + greedy, he, heart(-y), (hath, X jeopardy of) life (X in jeopardy), lust, man, me, mind, mortally, one, own, person, pleasure, (her-, him-, my-, thy-)self, them (your)-selves, + slay, soul, + tablet, they, thing, (X she) will, X would have it. Which comes from the root word, the verb form,... 5314 naafash (naw-FAHSH). A primitive root; to breathe; passively, to be breathed upon, i.e. (figuratively) refreshed (as if by a current of air) -- (be) refresh selves (-ed). So, it's not some "immaterial part" of a person; it's talking about the fact that this body - this PERSON - is alive and breathing! The word "spirit," translated from the Hebrew word "ruwach," means a "wind," or by resemblance, the "breath": 7307 ruwach (ROO-akh). From ruwach; wind; by resemblance breath, i.e. A sensible [palpable] (or even violent) exhalation; figuratively, life, anger, unsubstantiality; by extension, a region of the sky; by resemblance spirit, but only of a rational being (including its expression and functions) -- air, anger, blast, breath, X cool, courage, mind, X quarter, X side, spirit((-ual)), tempest, X vain, ((whirl-))wind(-y). Which comes from its root word, the verb form,... 7306 ruwach (roo-AKH). A primitive root; properly, to blow, i.e. Breathe; only (literally) to smell or (by implication) perceive (figuratively, to anticipate, enjoy) -- accept, smell, X touch, make of quick understanding. When a person ceases to breathe, when he or she "breathes his/her last (which thankfully may not really be his or her last because of the Resurrection)" - "gives up the ghost" - "gives up the spirit" - "gives up the breath" - then he or she ceases to be an "air-breather." He or she ceases to be a "soul," and he/she awaits the Resurrection. Therefore, "soul" ("air-breather") = "body" + "spirit" ("breath"). Now, let me quickly add that I DO believe in an afterlife of blessing for the believer, but that doesn't begin until the Resurrection and culminates in that which many CALL "Heaven" because of its description, the New Jerusalem, descending to the New Earth THROUGH the "heavens" and landing upon this New Earth. It is THERE - within this New Jerusalem - that one will find the descriptions that many assign to "Heaven," namely (1) the streets of gold, (2) the golden city, (3) the gates of pearl, (4) the river of the water of life, (5) the tree of life, (6) the jasper walls, (7) the foundations consisting of several precious gems, and of course, (8) the throne of God and of the Lamb. This brings us to one more definition: "Heaven" itself: The Hebrew word translated as "heaven" or "heavens," depending upon the English version of the Bible one uses, is "shaamayim": 8064 shaamayim (shaw-MAH-yeem). Dual of an unused singular shaameh {shaw-meh'}; from an unused root meaning to be lofty; the sky (as aloft; the dual perhaps alluding to the visible arch in which the clouds move, as well as to the higher ether where the celestial bodies revolve) -- air, X astrologer, heaven(-s). As noted, this is a DUAL word, neither singular nor plural in the multiple sense. The dual number is most often used for things that come in pairs, particularly body parts, such as the eyes, for instance. The author of this Strong's entry suggests that it refers to the atmosphere and to space visible beyond it, and in a sense, that's true. However, it really refers to the fact that the sky itself comes in a pair - the day sky and the night sky. Some make the mistake of thinking that Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 have a gap of time between them, but that is NOT how Hebrew literature works. The first verse is a SYNOPSIS of what is to follow. They frequently "telegraph their punches" in literature. If one is honest with himself or herself, he or she will realize that the words "et hashaamayim v'et haa'aarets" ("the heavens and the earth") in Genesis 1:1, the direct objects of God's creative power, are GIVEN those names by God in the following verses! Verse 8 in context says, Genesis 1:6-8 (KJV) 6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven (Hebrew: shaamaayim). And the evening and the morning were the second day. God named this expanse of air between the waters above and the waters below, "shaamayim!" Adding the definite article "ha-" to this word gives one the word in Genesis 1:1, "hashaamayim." Verse 10 in context says, Genesis 1:9-13 (KJV) 9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth (Hebrew: erets); and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. 11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it wasgood. 13 And the evening and the morning were the third day. God named this dry ground "erets!" Adding the definite article (which also changes the vowel pointing) gives one the word in Genesis 1:1, "haa'aarets." There were no previous "skies and earth" because God hadn't created the expanse-between-waters and the dry-ground, yet! That wasn't accomplished until days 2 and 3 of the Creation week! Regarding this "shaamayim," this is where the birds are said to fly: Genesis 1:20-23 (KJV) 20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament [expanse] of heaven (Hebrew: hashaamaayim = "of-the-[2]-skies"). 21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. 23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. That basically limits this expanse to the atmosphere. One might wonder about the fourth day: Genesis 1:14-19 (KJV) 14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. 16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. 17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. 19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. However, one should notice that this passage always uses the word "lights," never the "sun" or the "moon."
  21. Praise the Lord, hallelujah! Praise You, God, for your purity and perfection! Praise You Lord, Jesus Christ, for saving me and my testimony! Glory be to You, God, our Father who art in Heaven! Thanks be to the Holy Spirit's comfort, teaching and guidance! All we know, understand, experience and struggle with is for your glory, perfect plan and unquestionable will. I shall not want or crave anything outside of Jesus Christ's way. Let me know if so, let me understand what You want for us is best. May I pick up and carry my own cross, denying myself for You. I worship You as all knowing, powerful and gracious. May I draw closer to You and keep You as top priority in my family's lives. You are first, my family is second and I am here to serve. May I serve you reverently, fully and completely. May there be less of me and more of Jesus Christ instead. Jesus, You are thee only way, light and salvation. All I need is You. God, You take care of the rest. You are in control, God, making and letting everything happen. I am in awe and wonder of your creation. I am eternally grateful, worshipping You and your Son for thee ultimate sacrifice and act of love. This body is your temple, use it as You will. Bend me from my will to yours. It is all about You, everything concerns and relates to You! Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever, in Jesus Christ's name, amen! Sincerely yours, GregoryB
  22. "For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, As the waters cover the sea. - Habakkuk 2:14 The glory of God is going to cover the earth as the waters cover the sea and He's going to do it through us. We are unified in our hunger and pursuit of Him. We know there is more, and God is going to trust us to steward His presence, power, and glory in fresh new ways in the coming year. It is important that our hearts and priorities are in order personally and corporately, and as a result, they will transition from the edge of glory, into fresh new levels of glory; bringing with it life-changing revelations and encounters like we have never known! Spiritual alignments are important. There has never been a more CRITICAL TIME to know that you are rightly aligned with your CALLING in Christ. Don't get stuck in the familiar with all you have ever known...know deep within that God is calling you out upon the uncharted waters to be grafted into something glorious. However, just as the physical rain came during the time of Elijah, there are fresh rains of glory that are going to confront the enemy who seeks to destroy people and families. Embrace the refreshing healing rain is going to wash over as you allow God to put your life into order and you yield to the refining fires that will bring forth the glory! Receive the healing rains of His presence, for you are about to come out gold! Don't give up now. We're on the edge of glory! "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. - Colossians 1:27 Genesis 28:10,12 - "Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran. Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it." Like the ladder, Jesus dwelt in two places at the same time, in the earth and in the heavens. He is the access point between those two realms. When Jesus told Nathanael that he would see heaven open, He meant that he would see that Jesus is the ladder between the earth and heaven that is wide open to mankind. To Nathanael, He revealed heaven's open availability to the believer. In other words, the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand (available). John 1:51 - And He said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man." Your time in communion with the Lord will raise you to that "Come up here, let me show you something you didn't know before" place for substantial breakthrough. "I saw a door open in heaven and heard the same voice speaking to me, the voice like a trumpet, saying 'Come up here: I will show you what is to come in the future.'" - Revelation 4:1 When the Word becomes as a burning fire in your heart and bones your focus will be on harvest and it won't be denied you. Because freely you have received the Word and freely you give of the powerful Word of the Lord. To be effective we must minister according to His energy, or His power in our lives. 23. Hebrews 4:12 - "For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Faith is of the heart or spirit. It's not of the head or of the soul, which consists of the mind and emotions. Affirmation: WHEN I HAVE THE WORD OF GOD DEPOSITED IN MY SPIRIT, I'LL ACT ON IT NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCES, AND I'LL KEEP ACTING ON IT EVEN IF I DON'T SEE ANYTHING HAPPENING. I DON'T HAVE TO SEE, HEAR OR FEEL THE ANSWER. I BELIEVE -- FAITH IS OF THE HEART. Proverbs 3:5 - "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." Revelation 4:1,2 - "After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, 'Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this."' We accept His invitation to come up higher by focusing on Christ our Redeemer, Deliverer, and Healer, not our difficulties. God has NEW FRONTIERS OF THE SPIRIT for us to explore and higher mountains of faith for us to climb. The Lord Jesus Christ is inviting us to LIFT OUR VISION UP, above our circumstances and situations, to fix our eyes on Him and His Word. As we do this we can expect to see the glory of God fill our lives and those who we touch. Observation: THAT INVITATION HAS NOT BEEN RESCINDED AND I HAVE THE SAME CHOICE TODAY. MY FAITH CAN QUICKEN ME TO EXPERIENCE THE VERY SAME REALM. I AM ALREADY SEATED WITH CHRIST IN HEAVENLY PLACES. I ONLY NEED TO USE THE ACCESS I HAVE BEEN GIVEN IN CHRIST. Song of Solomon 4:11 - "Your lips, my spouse, drip like a honeycomb: honey and milk are under your tongue; and the fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon." IT IS THE BRIDEGROOM HIMSELF (JESUS) WHO IS RICH WITHIN YOU. YOUR LIPS ARE USED BY THE BRIDEGROOM TO SPEAK HIS WORD. HE PLACES HONEY AND MILK UNDER YOUR TONGUE SO THAT YOU MAY GIVE THEM TO ANY THAT LACK. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRYhttp://afministry.ning.com
  24. Jesus spoke a lot about the Reward in Heaven. I'd say that among the most discussed issues by Jesus, in the GOSPEL, there are: 1) Reward in Heaven 2) Risk of Hell 3) Importance of prayer (and Lord's prayer) 4) Influence of Satan in this world 5) Jesus divinity and mission 6) Second Coming What are the most discussed topics by Christians today, if we had to write down a list? As you know, there are countless verses (in the Gospel) for each topic mentioned above, but focusing on the reward in Heaven, the question is: is it still an hot topic in your opinion? Is it often preached by "pastors"? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SOURCE Here are some verses in the Gospel (in which Jesus always uses the future tense): "Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven:" (Jesus on basically almost all the beatitudes, Matthew 5: 1-12, Luke 6:20-26) "It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions." (Matthew 24:46-47) "Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5:19) Parable of the talents or minas (Matthew 25,14-30 Luke 19:12,17) "Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father." (Matthew 13:36-43) "However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven." (Luke 10:20)
