  1. Here in Nicaragua, Volcan Masaya erupted in 2004 not long after volcanologists had just finished studying it. They spent a good chunk of time in it and yet they were not able to predict the impeding eruption. except, the sulfur smell is so strong and sharp.
  2. Does anyone know exact scripture references where God says all this?
  3. Recognize that each one is very special and has a calling on their lives. Love them and like them. Ask God to help you see them as He sees them. Talk to them. Respect them. Turn a blind eye to bad behavior. All they want you to see is that they are tough and they are strong, but they aren't. It's a facade. They are weak and hurting and desperate for a human being that they can connect with who will value them for who they are. When you see a glimpse of a certain talent or positive attribute of any kind, bring it to light and then encourage them in their strengths or talents or positive attributes. Help them to see joy and recognize joy. Have a sense of humour. Laugh, dance, play basketball, have fun. Walk the walk, for yourself, but don't impose it or try to impose it on them. (I learned pretty quickly that doesn't work. lol) These kids see adults as the enemy. It can take a long time sometimes to build trust. Don't preach, just love. Don't be afraid to be vulnerable. Share your own insecurities, past or present, and your own past failures. Reach out to them knowing ahead of time, they are likely to hurt you in some way. When this happens, forgive quickly without an apology. They will surely see you as different. With some it will take longer than with others, but it WILL happen. Trust that. You will know when you've built their trust, and can then you can share with them with words about the love their Savior has for them. couldnt have said it any better
  4. snap! you have to prove it with blood stained sheets???
  5. OK, i found some for you. Dove was his wife. thread 1 thread 2 thread 3 thread 4 thread 5 thread 6 thread 7 thread 8 I first learnt from him, and the crew from back then, about the wof movement. I had no idea there was such nonsense! it was such a confusing and heartbreaking time for me when i was finding out all this information.
  6. I was really young back in 2002 when i started coming therefore many things, I dont remember. Besides some people who dont come here anymore, who were solid quality people, I cant think of anything else i really miss. I do like many of the nifty changes that have taken place over the years though! More smilies, introduction of profiles, addition of the ladies lounge and other such special forums, and the new friends that have joined the worthy family (i swear i am not trying to be cheesy! ). I am still not a fan of the new format of chat I definitely dont miss the confusion of being new to the boards though!
  7. yup, i miss gary too! and to this day when i go back to read some of his posts - i still dont understand I started coming here cos i needed to talk to like minded believers since i didnt have any around me, so chat was my home since 2002. The biggest change for me forced me to register as a memeber - we had to have accounts. before, we could just get into chat without a password or anything. i used go in chat with all sorts of names, one of which was Case and for kicks, i'd go in as strawberry lol. i have many many fond memories, some of which too personal to write up here. but the one that comes to mind right away was the day that toto_lilpunk opened up to me. the kid had a very very difficult life and he only got along with few people. but one day he snapped at me, apologized, and then took me under his wing right away, tackles and all! I think toward the end he forgot me though cos of his condition, but that ok.
  8. thats priceless! I am so gonna try this with my friends! lol. Can u yell out a win while cards are still being dealt?

  11. *sigh* this guy is a really sad human being. I will never understand how he thinks, justifies his actions or sleeps at night. the funny thing is that he attends church every sunday
  12. I doubt that will work on Grapefruit though. ugh grapefruit - yuck!
  13. Yup, same here. I think the last show of hers that I watched was the pregnant man one. She aint no better. She isnt as blatant about it, but Ellen has guests on her show that endorse the New Age stuff.
  14. How do u help them overcome in love if, say, they dont see anything wrong with it?
  15. yup. like you said, just as was the time spent in prison.
  16. wow, thats an insane testimony! it sounds like there is soooooooooo much to say though than they had time to air. like, what it must have been like for you growing up and what it was like in prison. i was also curious how you felt when u were slammed with a 10yr sentence?
  17. I dont understand this news. zimbabwe is a christian country so whatever happens to these specific christians is happening to everyone else in teh country. I dont think this is persecution against Christians. Praying for the country though.
