  1. Splendid observations .....do you have a point you would like to discuss?
  2. How do your comments here square with what you say in the other thread? (Jesus only died for past sins)
  3. There are 31,173 verses in the Bible.Do you want to go over all of them? I don’t.I’ll say this once more...pull out any verse you like, if it sounds like it is inferring you can lose your Salvation, that verse is taken out of context or it is not talking about the Body of Christ. You should check out this verse....” God, have mercy on me, a sinner”.....if spoken from a truly contrite heart, God will initialize your Salvation and go on to finish what “ HE” started. It’s all Him.Not you.All you contribute is your faith, and even that was given to you by the Grace of God.The Shed Blood Of Jesus was not a supplement to your works .It’s faith in that Blood plus nothing.Just like the song says—- Nothing But The Blood.Millions sing it . Few believe it.Its that “ Narrow Gate” thingy.
  4. Poor students of the Word, and those that do not “ properly divide” the same will stand ashamed. We have been warned.2Tim2:15
  5. ......and these examples are taken out of context or are not addressed to members of the Body of Christ.... Of course, the unrighteous will not see the Kingdom of God, in fact, if you are not PERFECT , you nor any of the rest of us will see it.I believe the Gospel of 1 Cor15:1-4 and therefore God’s perfection is imputed to me.I am as righteous as Jesus in God’s eyes.Isn’t God’s Grace and love amazing? You need to read the next verse.Text out of context is error.Paul tells those he is addressing that they may have been like that in the past but they are now justified because of their faith in Christ. He is talking to Believers who are saved. The Revelation verses refer to those not in the Body of Christ— the unforgiven. You ever tell a lie? That makes you a liar.I would even venture to say that there is a lie or two you forgot and therefore did not repent of. Moses, David and Paul were murderers and I believe they are in Heaven today .What do you think? How did they get there? Like everybody else—- by Grace through faith. The verse you quote is a warning to unsaved, unbelievers who lack faith in the Blood Of our Savior. Keep digging and you will find approximately 198 other verses that “ seem” to show that OSAS is invalid .They all are like the verses you quoted —— taken out of context or not being addressed to saved members of the Body of Christ. There are 400 verses that show you OSAS is valid.400 plain verses vs 200 questionable verses in regard to Salvation.Take your pick.
  6. There is more hope for the gayest Believer than there is for the straightest Perverter of the Gospel—— That would be those who say “ Jesus saves......BUT.......” If you are in the Body of Christ you are untouchable as far as Salvation is concerned .
  7. Pastors and Priests are no different than anybody else.If they are members of the Body of Christ they will be severely chastised in the flesh , yet their souls will be saved. Two things get you in that Body of Christ.Believe thAt Jesus died for your sins and believe He rose from the dead. Most people ,including Pastors and Priests, don’t believe the Gospel ,so they may commit terrible sins and make it through life unscathed.God Only chastises His true sons and daughters. As far as the other guy is concerned, his punishment showed he was a child of God being chastened by his Father. The way you decipher the word “ may” is convoluted in my opinion. This back- siding Christian was later welcomed back to the church— lesson learned. His salvation was never in question.
  8. Romans 14:1 tells me to accept those whose faith is weak......the weak being defined as those who worry about sabbaths and what foods to abstain from.......soooooo....goodbye and God bless
  9. Again, that refers to "ALL of our sins/trespasses" being forgiven at the point of being saved by faith, ie all of our sins before being saved by faith, and does not refer to "ALL of our sins/evil-works/Law-breaking" AFTER being saved by faith, eg murderous Saul becoming Spirit-led, righteous and law-abiding Paul. Paul would be the first to insist that he was “ righteous”. He got that way because of his faith in the Gospel .It was an imputed righteousness. Paul nor anyone else could keep the law and he knew it. That is why he preached Salvation by Grace. “ no man is justified by the works of the Law”. Your “ law-abiding” Paul declared himself to be “ chief of sinners” many years after his conversion on the road to Damascus. Nobody is given a license to sin.Nobody needs it.We all do plenty of sinning without one.The only license I possess is a license to rest. You are either resting in the Cross or you are an enemy of the Cross.Your choice.
  10. Romans......It shows you that you are lost, then reveals the remedy for that fearful truth.
  11. I am nosy........lol......how,fine sir, do you define “ repentance”? I share your belief that it is essential for Salvation and it is vital that young Believers understand it.
  12. Col2:13-15. “ He has made us alive with Him when He forgave us ALL of our sins, wiped out the Law’s demands against us and took them out of the way by nailing them to the cross” You are confusing our practice with our position. Our practice here in these weak bodies of flesh is sinful, but nonetheless God is way ahead of us—— positionally, He has placed us in our “ Heavenly Seats”, sitting with Jesus, already citizens of Heaven. Personally, I don’t understand all the hand-wringing over an issue that was taken care of 2000 years ago. Some just can’t believe “ Good News” when they hear it.Jesus has promised to save us if we believe the Gospel .Past sins....present sins....future sins—let God sort it out.I am saved by my faith, so it is all irrelevant as far as my Salvation is concerned.God is the One who chose faith in His Promises to trump our pitiful attempts at perfection. He promised to finish the Good Work that He started. To put it crudely, He was the One Who chose to put the monkey on His back, strictly for our helpless sakes.Put it on your back if you choose. I’m going to rest in my Heavenly seat, trusting in what He did for me at the Cross.
  13. “ Repentance toward God, with faith in Jesus Christ” is the Repentance that leads to Salvation. That is a “ change of mind” (metanoia) from whatever you thought was saving you to the Truth that actually DOES save you—-simply Believing thAt Jesus died for your sins and rose from the grave. 1Cor15:1-4 Once saved, the Believer will have another type of repentance , which is a sorrow and regret for sinning against the One that loved you enough to suffer and die for you.You feel like a rat. Deservedly so.You are already forgiven for that and any other sin you may commit. You confess it to God ( agree with Him that you have sinned) and thereby restore your fellowship and joy.It will also show itself to be very important if you have any hope of getting your prayers answered readily.
  14. I agree for the most part, however I am convinced that even “gross ,repetitive, unrepentant moral sin is covered by the Grace of God. “Where sin abounded, grace abounded that much more”Christians have the freedom to be fools and God has a few remedies up His sleeve. The carnal Believer is Still a Believer and God does not play around when it comes to chastising His errant children— I speak from experience .If one refuses to respond positively to God’s discipline God can strike him dead and call him home before his time.
  15. Here is “ our part” when it comes to Salvation—-“Believe in the One He sent”. Adding to that for your Salvation might “ cost” you your Salvation. Add to the Gospel at your own risk.
  16. “Those that do not believe” might be fewer in number if they understood what real Christianity is.It is not Judaism where rule- keeping is paramount .Christianity is all about Grace.Religionists are concerned with “do do this and don’t do that”.Christianity is not a religion .Non-Believers are entitled to know that.I’m all for being “solid”- unision is important, but when truthful doctrine is threatened, unity is no longer the priority
  17. To be more precise ......you do not want a true discussion....you want a ONE-SIDED discussion....not a very good way to learn things......isn’t that the reason we are all here?
  18. Paul described those who get all carried away with Sabbath days , lawful eating, etc as “ weak Christians”.If one gets satisfaction from obsessing about such things , good for you......just don’t try to convince others that your weakness is a virtue.
  19. I am not saying this applies to you, but it should be noted ...”Even Satan can quote Scrioture.....”
  20. When the Disciples asked Jesus “ what good work must we do to obtain eternal life “, Jesus responded....” this is the work of the Father — Believe in the One He sent”.
  21. I Sabbath every day, resting in the finished work done for us at the Cross.I think God would rather see that than people fretting about what they can or can not do on a certain day.I recommend it highly.
  22. “If we don’t , He won’t” All of our sins are forgiven.....all paid for on the Cross 2000 years ago. The impetus for forgiving this side of the Cross if you are in The Body of Christ is to forgive others because God has forgiven wretches like us.
  23. OSAS........200 verses “ against”.......400 verses “ for” The 200 verses that “ appear” to show that OSAS is wrong are either taken out of context or verses not addressed to the Body of Christ. Argue all day, but this it what it all boils down to
  24. Anybody who is the Body of Christ in this Age of Grace should do what Christ told them to do.....follow Christ’s mouthpiece after He went back to Heaven—— that would be Paul...Paul said “ follow me as I follow Christ”. Paul said making a big deal out of Sabbath’s was for “ weak” Christians.......we are to put up with such types. We don’t let them rule the Church for obvious reasons......REST in the finished work of Christ at the Cross if you really want to please God. God bless
