Jesus is God. Compassion and mercy. That boy heard from Jesus. People should not put God into a box. God is loving and full of compassion.

God IS mercy, AND love. The Pope did the right thing. Sola Scripture people are stuck solid in the black and white of the Bible. God is all forgiving and loving. God can do what He finds correct. The jews were going to stone the adulterer because it was 'written'. Jesus changed that by a few words!

Mary interceded at Cana. Jesus gave Mary to us at the foot of the cross. We are Her children. She is Our Holy Mother. She is the Mother of God. Whatever haters of Catholicism say, Mary is a gateway to Jesus. Jesus loved His Mother and wants us to do the same. Problem with sola scripture people is that when you close the cover of the Bible thats it! Nothing else is possible to them once the Bible closes shut! In the Catholic church, we have Sacred Scripture AND Sacred Tradition! That is extremely powerful and God given. Protestants can scoff all they want. We Catholics know the truth.

When a Catholic kneels to pray, in front of a Crucifix, a statue of Mary or even a Saint, they are NOT praying to the item in front of them. NO! Dont you think God knows their heart? Their soul? Their prayer? God knows they are not worshipping a statue etc. Myself, i dont pray to a Crucifix! Or a statue. God knows my heart. Was not Moses instructed to make a serpent so that people could turn to it in prayer? Not 'TO' the serpant. But to God! God knows the heart of everyone. Catholics included. He knows why we have a Crucifix or a statue. He knows that nobody in the Catholic church prays 'to' a statue etc. Judge not what you 'THINK' you see!

Gideon, dear friend. I love your posts! You truly love God and want everyone to be true lovers of God. I applaud you. I read your words and am uplifted. Problem i have is that for 4 years now i have failed MASSIVELY. Sin has taken a strong hold on me. Adultery is that sin. But, i deeply love God! I have fallen many times but have immediately gotten up and repented! The devil may be winning MANY battles over me but i am determined that he will NOT win the war! Ok, i still sin. I am indeed weak. Plus, i have strong feelings for the other person in my life. How to escape? I guess i know but am finding it hard to let go. She is a wonderful person. She loves God so much too. I have continued to plead with God to help. But nothing! I know i am heading deep into the darkness, i know. 4 years of terrible sin. Gideon, your words are inspirational and thought provoking.
