  1. I'm with Neighbor on this Debp. I too would be one of the guys mucking out the animal pens and also bringing them their meals! Cheers!!!
  2. Funny you should mention Arthur Godfrey. He had an airplane in Teteboro, NJ back in the 50's. We lived in a small town next to Teteboro. One day my Dad, who was a career Marine was waiting for a bus on Rt 46 to go to New York City. He was in uniform. A lemo stopped at the bus stop, and it was Arthur Godfrey and he gave my Dad a ride into the City! I know, it's off topic, but that's what your post brought to mind! Cheers Neighnor!!!
  3. Oh Oh! Watch and see how the thread on deleted threads gets deleted!!!! Cheers!!!
  4. Too bad scripture is not the standard for posting rules. That would eliminate the eventual conflicts that cause these topics to be deleted. Cheers!!!
  5. Never saw the movie, but will watch this. Did read the book though. What an incredible witness to our Lord! I imagine as well, the book has more detail. Everyone should know this story. Another good one is Bruchko. Met him once. Another incredible story and witness to God! Cheers!!!
  6. Matthew 12:36-37 ESV "I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” Cheers!!!
  7. Thanks for the idea The_Patriot2018! I'm already "rich" however, and I have no motivation to start worshiping mammon again! Cheers Brother !!!
  8. Hello Hayleyvo48! Welcome to Worthy! As Yowm suggested above, online bibles are a great resource. Check out https://www.biblegateway.com/. The Bible is available there in every major version that there is, plus in many foreign languages. They also have great search tools for looking up specific verses and based on topics and keyword searches ( the latter only works for the King James Version but once you find what you are looking for you can easily search other versions by the Book, Chapter, and verse numbers. Ex, Book of Matthew, Chapter 5, Verses 20-26 entered as Matthew 5: 20-26 in the search box). There is also a great online Concordance at http://www.eliyah.com/lexicon.html with additional search tools plus Hebrew and Greek lexicons, so you can look up the definitions of the original Hebrew and Greek the Bible is written in. Last but not least http://www.openbible.info/labs/cross-references/ allows you to enter a verse and it will bring up all other verses related to the one you are searching. this allows you to confirm scripture with other scripture, both in the Old and New Testaments. There still other great Bible tools online, but the above will cover "all the bases". Hope this helps Hayleyvo48! Cheers!!!
  9. Please pardon the interruption Siegi91 and Shiloh357, Siegi, If you would "vastly" prefer that you and your loved ones have a spirit that transcends the laws of nature, would love to have an immortal soul, and would love to see your Mother again, but can't believe that because the "evidence" leads you against it, perhaps it is because you are not open to ALL the evidence, just the scientific explanations derived from human "intellect". Consider however that there are billions of people that do believe what you wish you could and for far longer than any scientific evidence even existed. That has to count for something, even to a mindset like your own. The fact that there are so many believers and for so long a period of history should at the very least allow for the possibility you are wrong. After all, you believe we are all wrong, so why not allow that possibility for yourself? Cheers Siegi91 !!!
  10. Well Siegi91, I think the balance of nature involves a little more then the predator/prey relationship between a lion and antelope! No, I do not dispute gravity because every time I drop something, it falls to the ground. Nor do I see things floating off the surface of the planet into space. I do my fishing based on the tides as well, resulting from gravity! Gravity is of great theological importance. Wheredid you get the idea it wasn't? So, you cannot conceive that there is an intelligence behind any design to existence. What then would you describe as intelligent in reality? Cheers Siegi91 !!!
  11. Siegi91, I do not dispute gravity, or the laws of nature, or any of the facts that govern physical processes. I do however choose what I believe about what the facts originate from. Can you not see any option for intelligent design in the structure and interactions of matter and energy in all it's physical forms from the smallest sub atomic particle to the largest physical object known? Cheers !!!
  12. Hi Siedi91, Yes, the scientific explanation does not say anything like that, and I agree. The Creationist explanation however is as valid as any scientific explanation. Neither can be proven as correct, so are equally accurate as potential truth. You cannot invalidate my belief in creation, nor I your belief in evolution. I think however that gives me somewhat of an advantage, since I am able to understand both perspectives equally, and choose the one most valid to me. You do not have that option because you cannot allow for creation as anything viable. The difference is our faith. Cheers Siegi91 !!!
  13. Hello siegi91 Interesting! To me any life form is a marvel and I have difficulty distinguishing the value of each life form from any other. I feel no more of a "kinship" with an ape then I do with a field mouse or butterfly. While obviously different on almost every level of objective appearance and structure, subjectively the similarities are quite amazing. Never the less, you are special, and so is every part of all that exists. The scientific explanation is accurate to the extent we have a common ancestor, but "theologically" that common ancestor is He who created all that exists. That would be God of the Bible. The similarity and diversity of life forms are essential to a natural order and balance on this planet, and, again, also serve as a valid diversion to faith in God as they are as much an evidence of "process" as they are Creation. Cheers Siegi91 !!!
  14. I do not know if there is a simpler explanation, from the human perspective to the "puzzle". It is not a puzzle from the scriptural perspective however. And in actuality it is all a very simple explanation from the creation perspective, but incredibly complex from the evolutionary one. Yes, what value is free will if there are no alternatives to choose from? Especially when God does not want to be "proven", requiring faith instead. Do you truly think we look like a hairless gorilla's? Why not a bear, or a pig? Based upon pure appearances, they supposedly resemble man's body structure. Cheers Siegi91 !!!
  15. Hello Siegi91! Perhaps a better question is why even are there hairless spiders, gorilla's and the whole list of life that exist and have existed from single cell creatures to complex multi cell creatures and fauna, with only one truly cognitive sentient being in the whole pot? You wrote "I don't know. If I were God, and I created the Universe for a being in my image etc., I would have taken some precautions to not make it look like any other sort of animal. Also to silence those modern evolutionary skeptics." You are not taking into consideration our free will and God's firm requirement of faith in order to know He exists. Without the ability to conceive alternate reasons for existence and seemingly valid theories and laws of nature to validate them, how else would we be able to choose or reject any concept of Creation and the God thereof? How else could theists and atheist's even exist? I this not exactly the same process we "create" when confronting experience, as in new scientific concepts among other pursuits? The concept of any new endeavor of man is always meet initially with more skeptics then adherents, and in time what was once thought ridiculous or impossible becomes the new bedrock "reality". Just about every man made thing that exists started out this way. A new thought, a measure of faith, an action of works (effort and trial and error of discovery), and presto, humans who can't fly rule the skies! Sounds like Creation to me, and in God's Image. There are still places on Earth where people still do not believe man can fly though! While we can "prove" we can fly to such people, God will never give us the ability to "prove" His existence. Only by faith can we know the unknown. Cheers Siegi91 !!!
  16. What was his wife thinking? Cheers!!!
  17. Komodo Dragons don't eat live prey. First they attack it. Their saliva is loaded with infectious bacteria, and all they do is wait until that prey dies of sepsis, then they devour it. No risk of injury to themselves, so that tourist lasted a day or two before getting consumed! I hope he was saved! Cheers Debp!!!
  18. Hello Siegi91! Great to see you here again! I don't trust them per say. Again they simply are a resource I thought others here might be interested in knowing about. Personally, I don't trust any resource that claims any philosophy or science that at the very least will not even consider the option for creation by intelligent design, and definitely none that totally ignore Biblical Creation outright. It is blatant ignorance that is completely unreasonable, even irrational, and therefore totally contrary to any endeavor concerned with finding truth. JMHO of course! Cheers Siegi91!!!
  19. Actually Sojourner414, Iguana's are on the Menu in Mexico and Central America. You'll never guess what they say they taste like. Yep, Chicken! http://blogs.worldwatch.org/nourishingtheplanet/iguana-meat-is-on-the-table/ Cheers!!!
  20. Hi Debp! Yes, lot's of non native stuff here in Florida from other parts of the world. In Miami they have a problem with snails from Africa. They are as big as soft balls, and eat concrete, or actually the calcium in concrete. We used to have a little lizard called the Green Anole. Really cute and a native species. They are all but gone, having been out competed for food by the Brown Anole from the Caribbean Islands, introduced here back in the 70's. The Brown's will eat the young of the Greens as well. One could write a book about all the invasive species in this State. Probably someone already has! Then there's the Love Bug. A genetically created insect by a Florida University that were supposed to pray on mosquitoes. They never ate a single mosquito, and now they come in big swarms in spring and fall, and their body acid content takes paint off cars when you run into their swarms on the roads. There are so many that at times you have to stop driving to clear your windshield as they will cover it so you can't see out! It's happened to me. They can clog up a radiator so bad it stops working and your engine will overheat. Welcome to Paradise! Cheers Debp!!!
  21. Hello Tyler! Only Satan wants you convinced you're a reprobate. You have free will, so predestination is not even logical. It is not a matter of "unbelieving" as that still focuses on Satan's plan for yoy, but in believing in Christ and all of God's word. Are you born again? If not, and you simply consider yourself a Christian, then you need to confess you sins to Christ and be baptized in the Holy Spirit, and He will take your sins upon Himself, making you sinless. By faith you now belong to Christ; you are His and Satan loses any claim he as long as remain vigilant in Christ's defense you. Then you need to learn God's word and strive to please Him, without being fearful of falling short. Cheers Tyler22!!!
  22. I used to live in Boca raton, Florida, where people would have Iguana's for pets. These creatures can grow to 5-6 feet nose to tip of tail, and when they get too big, people would just let them go. Now they are all over the place there, having adapted and are breeding. I could drive down US 41 and literally count scores of them eating plants on the road side. That was over 10 years ago, and now it's even worse! And they can give you a nasty bite! https://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/boca-raton-struggles-with-exploding-iguana-population-they-never-get-rid-them-expert-says/l5OBYaLkLdKjlA91IrQk7N/ Cheers!!!
  23. Ecclesiastes 5:7 ESV For when dreams increase and words grow many, there is vanity; but God is the one you must fear. Cheers!!!
  24. Tyler! Where did you go? You have received so many outstanding scriptural explanations to you confusion about faith and works, but you haven't indicated if this has resolved your confusion. It is certainly important to know the difference between faith and works, how the former saves and the latter is just an inherent "fruit" of being saved, and why faith without works is dead (because there is no faith in the first place!). Do you understand this now? Please let everyone here know. Thanks Tyler S. Cheers!!!
  25. The Lord has said: "These people praise me with their words, but they never really think about me. They worship me by repeating rules made up by humans. So once again I will do things that shock and amaze them, and I will destroy the wisdom of those who claim to know and understand." (Is 29:13-14 CEV) The Lord said, "These people claim to worship me, but their words are meaningless, and their hearts are somewhere else. Their religion is nothing but human rules and traditions, which they have simply memorized. So I will startle them with one unexpected blow after another. Those who are wise will turn out to be fools, and all their cleverness will be useless." (Is 29:13-14 GNB) I make liars of false prophets and fools of fortunetellers. I take human wisdom and turn it into nonsense. (Is 44:25 CEV) I make fools of fortunetellers and frustrate the predictions of astrologers. The words of the wise I refute and show that their wisdom is foolishness. (Is 44:25 GNB) This applies to aliens as well, even Vulcans! Cheers!!!
