@DustyRoad I was about to remark on that latest way of speaking and then I noticed you also have picked up on the way lots of people now seem to start their sentences with; “So,...” Another one that was doing the trends was starting every sentence with; “Basically,...” A few years ago there was a radio host who would hang up on callers if they started using the word “Basically” because it used to annoy him so much. Haha...as I type this, on the TV, the interviewee has just used the word “Basically” three times! Becky.

Let Us Lift Up The Name Of The Lord-Through Hymns

Because Of You - Matt Redman. There's a place where the streets shine With the glory of the Lamb There's a way we can go there We can live there, beyond time Because of You, because of You Because of Your love, because of Your blood No more pain no more sadness No more suffering, no more tears No more sin, no more sickness No injustice, no more death Because of You, because of You Because of Your love, because of Your blood Oh, our sins are washed away And we can live forever Now we have this hope Because of You Oh, we'll see You face to face And we'll dance together In the city of our God Because of You True, true, true There is joy everlasting, There is gladness, there is peace. There is wine ever flowing, There's a wedding, there's a feast. Read more: Matt Redman - Because Of You There's A Place...(All Around The World Version) Lyrics | MetroLyrics -

That’s a lovely one @turtletwo Thank you for sharing that. Xxx -
Thank you for sharing that lovely devotion @Debp How comforting. All our trials and upsets down here are right now giving us a weight of eternal glory. Romans 8:18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. God bless, Becky.

@turtletwo and @Jubilea Talking of reminiscing of being a child, do you remember the days when if you wanted to call a friend, you had to ask one of your parents if you could use the phone to call (name)? Then one of their parents would answer the phone and you’d ask to speak to your friend. Then if you wanted to invite them over, they would say “I’ll just go and ask my mom”. Then you’d wait on the phone in hope their mom would say yes! Seems like yesterday, as that routine went on for years! Hehe. -
Salvation: The Roman Road or The Jerusalem Road
marvelloustime replied to Footprint's topic in General Discussion
Jesus is the only way to Heaven. There is no other way. John 14:6 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. And when you are born again and Jesus is in your life, He gives you the Holy Spirit: Ephesians 1:13-14 In Him, you also, when you heard the word of truth, the good news of your salvation, and [as a result] believed in Him, were stamped with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit [the One promised by Christ] as owned and protected [by God]. 14 The Spirit is the [e]guarantee [the first installment, the pledge, a foretaste] of our inheritance until the redemption of God’s own [purchased] possession [His believers], to the praise of His glory. Praise the Lord. It's by His grace and mercy, and not by us. -
@mlbrokish Amen to that. To forgive is a decision. And it works. I say out loud "I choose to forgive (name and names), in the name of Jesus". And I keep doing it until I feel I have forgiven them. And if feelings arise again, then I keep saying it. It's a process, and you can't always feel the forgiveness immediately. But once you say to Jesus I choose to forgive this person, Jesus then does the rest. It works! Praise the Lord! God bless, Becky. xxx

A year ago today, my mother saw Jesus face to face for the first time. I wonder how she felt and I wonder what it was like leaving this life and going to be with Jesus in Heaven for eternity. One day soon, all we who are in Christ will experience this. But for now, we can only imagine.

As I’m thinking of my mother going to Heaven a year ago today, I wonder how she felt when she went and saw Jesus. There is only one way into Heaven. In Christ Alone.

Hi @Jubilea I love that picture! Are you in it? What a great game they played for the children and like you said, you remember all that for the rest of your life. I think some things roll on from each decade to the next with the type of things they do with children and some things get dropped or changed. We are all, including our sister@turtletwo, pre-internet and smart phone era, so I can imagine it’s all probably done very differently now to what it was when we were all there. But I am so glad I grew up before all that started. What a wonderful background story we all have. I love comparing stories. I can see you reading poems out turtle. And it sounds like you also had fun Jubilea. I was one of those strange kids that loved to be on the stage. So I used to love reading the readings out in front of everyone and doing the plays. When I was 13, I auditioned for a TV talent show and I did impressions. I didn’t get through, but remember doing my act at the church and getting laughs. I also used to play the organ and would sometimes play a few hymns on there, but being honest, as a teenager I wasn’t really into it. No please don’t ask me to recite the books of the bible in order now turtle. I will cheat and look them up! Lol. They did use crayons as well, now you mention it. But mostly them coloured pens and pencils. We also all had energy in them days and running about playing all those games was fun. Would we all like to meet up and try them now?! Haha!
