Repentance... is it from sin or from unbelief?
leah777 replied to JohnD's topic in General Discussion
You may not be aware of this, but using capitals = shouting. -
You and @Charlie744 are soooo funny!!! Are you sure @Justin Adams will know he is being called??
-
Please do not think I ignore you, but this post is beyond my grasp of English language construction and interpretation, so I will not respond. However, I have made no reference to the baptism of Jesus, perhaps someone else did. I said that everything changed at Pentecost, when Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to us all.

Repentance... is it from sin or from unbelief?
leah777 replied to JohnD's topic in General Discussion
I don't need instructions on how to stay saved. I am saved. Full stop. Repentance is part of my walk with God, as a fallen human. Not part of my salvation. -
This is a continuing conversation with Fritz, that is why I am quoting him in my replies. I am answering his points. Perhaps that is why it seems puzzling?
-
No, it's all very clear. Read it again.

I said 'someone' not a group. Still not answering my question. I will simplify: Do you believe that not speaking in tongues, means someone is not Holy Spirit baptised? Easy basic question.

Repentance... is it from sin or from unbelief?
leah777 replied to JohnD's topic in General Discussion
there seems to be different schools of thought on sin. some think we dont sin anymore once we are saved some think we are still human, so we sin due to humanity some think that we dont have to say sorry anymore or ask for forgiveness as forgiveness is automatic. some think the opposite. is very confusing. -
Repentance... is it from sin or from unbelief?

Whatever words are used to define different repenting, make no difference to me. I sin in some way or another. I feel in prayer that I am wrong and not in a good place with God. I talk to God about it, He helps me to see where I went wrong, uncovers the sin (sometimes I am not aware that I have sinned) I ask Him for strength and He gives the strength and knowledge I need to deal with the source of my unease. Sometimes He reassures me that I am feeling false guilt, so I ask for deliverance from evil and His shield around me. Then the discomfort, or whatever is correct word to use, is gone. Simple, like a child talking to Father. There may be things i need to do to put things right with another person, not always. This is my personal experience. I apologise to God. Some may say this is not part of repentance. it is to me in my prayer experience with God. Not sorry as if by rote, but deep sorry like apologising to anyone who I have hurt. I cant explain more, I dont have the words to expand on such a difficult to explain subject. I share my heart with you as best I can about this. I believe and have faith my Father will understand me, forgive me, and teach me (with love) what I need to learn from these things. -
My Point, @Frits Do you believe that speaking in tongues, prophecy, healing is proof of Holy Spirit baptism? Do you believe that not speaking in tongues, prophecy, healing mean someone is not Holy Spirit baptised? Is not a trick question, or a difficult one. You keep missing my point in your answers. Your scriptures quoted are before Pentecost, before Christ died. Not for Christians baptised after Pentecost.

As you are happy to continue this line of discussion: I happen to believe that the Holy Spirit comes when we believe and are saved automatically. We are given one or more of the Gifts, not all of them. Many Christians do not heal, or speak in tongues, or raise the dead, or prophecy. They have other gifts from the Holy Spirit. Mark 16:15-18 New King James Version 15 (A)And He said to them, “Go into all the world (B)and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 (C)He who believes and is baptized will be saved; (D)but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these (E)signs will follow those who [a]believe: (F)In My name they will cast out demons; (G)they will speak with new tongues; 18 (H)they[b] will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; (I)they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” special instructions and gifts for a specific time. anyway, I have said all I want to share now.

I apologise @Frits for the digressions. I will not digress from your thread again.
-
I know what? did you forget to finish your sentence?
-
I will have an in-depth read later. What types vaccines are you in favour of?
-
do you say that those who do not raise the dead, prophecy, heal or speak in tongues are not true Christians?
-
no, I want to hear from you the answer to my question before sharing. You have appeared to state that only those who exercise the Gifts listed in your previous post are true Christians. Is that what you believe?
-
thank you. There are some who say that those who believe in Gifts, but cant heal or speak in tongues or prophecy, are not proper born again Christians, even if those Christians evidence other gifts from God.
-
People who do none of the things you list here also received the Holy Spirit and are Born Again. Do you agree? I am not sure I understand, so ask for clarification.
-
I repeat: are you against all vaccines?
-
we dont know if he had a temperature. Shaking with chilled feelings of cold is very common with a high temperature, as our bodies do not regulate our perception of heat properly in a fever. This is a good explanation of the process. https://www.healthline.com/health/shiver-with-fever

Fever. Triggering immune response in vaccine can cause short term fever. Like in the old stories where the patient is babbling and feverish and incoherent due to fever, before we had paracetamol and the like to bring down fever. Fever is good to burn out bugs who can't survive in a fever. Very normal response from our bodies.

Ecumenism: "Why Can't We Be Friends?"
leah777 replied to Fidei Defensor's topic in General Discussion
But this is not the charity which God want us to do, it is another example of pseudo Christianity. There are many good charities of all denominations, by true Christians. -
let me understand - are you against all vaccines?
-
Fever is cited as a side effect. It can lead to hallucinations for a short time. As can getting any sickness or vaccination. The temperature raise is part of our immune system to kill bugs. After 24 hours after my AZ vaccination I am happy to report a slight headache, slight stiffness in joints and no other problems. These started around 4 hours ago, and have not worsened. No strange messages embedded on my retina or unexplained beeping noises, I am happy to report : ))))

And in that sentence you have made a negative sweeping generalization of a whole group of people, and implied strongly that they are not saved. Fairness works both ways. BTW: I am not in US and have no political fidelity to any US group.
