  1. Genesis 41:39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you. 40 You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders. Only with respect to the throne will I be greater than you.” Joseph was under Pharaoh. Note in gen 41 Joseph suggested taking a fith see v 33 “And now let Pharaoh look for a discerning and wise man and put him in charge of the land of Egypt. 34 Let Pharaoh appoint commissioners over the land to take a fifth of the harvest of Egypt during the seven years of abundance. 35 They should collect all the food of these good years that are coming and store up the grain under the authority of Pharaoh, to be kept in the cities for food. 36 This food should be held in reserve for the country, to be used during the seven years of famine that will come upon Egypt, so that the country may not be ruined by the famine.” As for charity, where in genesis do you see this being taught?
  2. Why is the test of biblical reliability dependant upon exodus? Just because something cannot be proven to your satisfaction does not mean it is not true. What of the truthfulness of Christianity? Did Jesus really rise from the dead? Or ie exodus really an excuse not to believe?
  3. All I can say, is take the time to grieve. Remember your good and bad times, cry if that helps, pray about your and the families feelings. Write out your memories, sort out photos etc. Again take the time to grieve,
  4. He was the ruler under Pharaoh, he was not Pharaoh. Why should he give the Egyptians free food? They like the rest of Egypt benefitted from seven years of superabundent harvests and could have as villages/communities stored food for the next seven years of famine, but they didn’t.
  5. If he was doing this for his own benefit then yes he could be accused of greed, but he was serving his master the Pharoah. We don't know what price he charged for food, but he clearly acted wisely to ensure that the people of Egypt survived the famine.
  6. ." Faith Comes By Hearing " by far more than just hearing. Our task is to preach, gossip, tell show, live the gospel to the world. But we do not save those to whom we are witnessing! It is God/Jesus who actually saves. It is Jesus who breaks our chains of sin, so that we can respond to his call. We are not free agents, we are either s.aves of the devil or slaves of God
  7. Hubris is I think the Greek term for the ' gods ' driving an arrogant man mad. Certainly Dawkins with his claim of being a cultural Christian is starting to realise that evolution says nothing about morality or about the value of human life and that in attacking Christianity he has opened a window for far nastier beliefs to become prominent.
  8. Having delved into this passage and broken it I to pieces, can you now give a clear and simple explanation or application for those like me who can see no rhyme or reason in your post.
  9. He enables us through testing to prove our faith. It is eas to hurl accusations, but there claims do not add up. God has consistently expected people to live by his rules, to worship him. Someone who denies that God exists is not going to pay attention to his requirements for living g or for worshipp and so will run down everything g about God.
  10. Article in the Christian today :-https://www.christiantoday.com/article/mission.aviation.fellowship.pays.tribute.to.co.founder.who.has.died.aged.103/142631.htm about how he founded MAf and at 103 he has died. how many here know about and support MAF?
  11. "The Punishment of the Ungodly" Is as they have lived without God so they will spend eternity without God.
  12. Do you have an explanation of the meaning of these verses or a practical application for us? If God is the source of all that is good and if Jesus is the truth surely it follows that Christians know the difference between good and evil.
  13. You, I, we all have the time God has given us. If the news feeds your anxiety stop watching it, we all like to stay informed that is a habit that depending on one's situation can be broken. Try using the time spent watching the news preparing for your studies and see if a week without daily news helps you.
  14. The ' passover ' sacrifice was costly, it was also personal. Lambs we're expensive and it was cared for in the family, no anonymous sacrifice this. For us the sacrifice costs us nothing but pride, the resulting change to our way of life. Following in our acceptance of that sacrifice we start to learn about its cost and just how personal it is to us. We too have through how we live, work and talk, challenge the gods of this age, the spiritual darkness of those who will not see or listen and the love of instant gratification.
  15. Trump, Putin etc don't dictate what is happening, God does that. New world order, oh dear, stop watching YouTube about the end times. New world order is superstition for the devil pulling the strings in government just like he does now. Forget politics concentrate on getting qualified and on living day by day for God. We can't change the political situation, but we can live for God and have an influence on those around us. Jude 24 To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— 25 to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen Is far more relevant than end time videos or worrying about politics.
  16. The will of God is God's plan for creation. If you want a longer response plus bible verses try https://www.biblestudytools.com/dictionary/will-of-god/ Or a selection of bible verses;-https://www.openbible.info/topics/will_of_god Wait for others to respond or talk to your minister.
  17. No they are making threatening moves, when put in gets away with Ukraine and starts on other x user states, China will invade.
  18. Children are always a delight and an endless worry. While she is at home continue to say grace at meals, to invite her to come to church, to go to the youth group etc. But also look for opertunities to talk about Christianity, to ask her " What do you believe about God? " and the follow up question. " What evidence do you have for that belief? " Just be sure that you too can answer rationally the same questions. Answers like " I just have faith " and " I believe " are not as 1Peter3:15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. Encourages us to believe. Do talk to your churches youth leaders about what are they doing to train the young people to be able to defend their faith.
  19. Imagine your back in school. A kid in your class picks on another child and is pulled up by the teacher. This happens regularly until a new teacher ignores the bullying. Other kids who all the time have been intimidating smaller kids now they see there is no consequence to physical bullying start attacking smaller children. Comprehend? It is fear of America reaction to china's take over of Taiwan that is preventing them from acting.
  20. The Roman empire was religiously synergistic, they would absorb other religions identifying chief gods with Jupiter/zues etc, but they also expected that followers of that religion to worship the deified ceaser. It was Christianities refusal to do this that brought them persecution. Constantine stopped this.
  21. May I suggest that people check out a hostile witness to Christianity as found at:-https://www.bartehrman.com/emperor-constantine/ Bart is a historian and an atheist, he is worth reading for his account of the impact Constantine had on Christianity. The summary of the article. Conclusion: Who Was Constantine the Great? Constantine was the first Christian emperor of Rome. While he did not make Christianity the official religion of the empire, he did legalize it and end the persecution of Christians. It is possible that without this, Christianity would never have grown as it did. In addition, he convened the Council of Nicaea at which several key theological and practical church issues were decided. These decisions would affect Christianity for the rest of its existence. Moreover, by ordering 50 copies of the Bible to be made, Constantine may have forced some decisions to be made about which books to include (and exclude) from the canon. Obviously, these decisions would have an enormous impact on Christian belief and doctrine. Finally, by financing his mother’s trip to Palestine, Constantine indirectly established the tradition of pilgrimage and the gathering of Christian relics, practices which would impact the Church for the rest of its life.
  22. Sometimes words, phrases, ideas, concepts etc expressed in the bible are in terms that the writers can understand. King is an ultimate ruler, there is no one over a king, so calling Jesus a king, or the king of kings is stressing his importance, his power and authority. As he has ultimate authority as our creator and as God the Father has put everything in Jesus's power he truly is our King of King's.
  23. Pray for a just peace. Remember China is looking to take over Taiwan and if Putin gets away with Ukraine because America won't stop him, what will stop China taking over Taiwan?
  24. Marriage, finding that Mr right. Not sure that what I can say will be helpful. While one is single prepare for marriage! Whoo what a condescending statement, but think about it. Practically are you debt free with a growing savings? Are you practically invol 3d in your local church? How theological literate are you? You want a Godly man to marry, two things how do you relate to the word obey? Second how do you relate to his Christian leadership ( leadership that you might have to kick start ! ) Where are you looking for this prey? How do you respond when a single man approaches you, I ask because when I was seeking a wife the turn off from some girls was brutal, be as gentle as you an in turning someone down.
  25. Personally I do not think there is intelligent life out there. That said I think the question should be turned around. How would atheist scientist and astronomers react to contact is made with ' E T ' language has been translated and the first serious question from them is. " Can you tell us about Jesus? "
