  1. One thing is it is done in remembrance of Jesus. "do this in remembrance of Me" (in Luke 22:19 and in 1 Corinthians 11:24) I can understand that if we were eating Jesus, we would not only be remembering Him. But the real remembrance is how we do this in the same love that Jesus had while being with His disciples and dying for us. His love is better remembrance, than just some imagined remembering of Him.
  2. At least one time > "'You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.'" (John 8:44) What else?
  3. Lead by example > "nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock." (1 Peter 5:3) And God does use example . . . along with prayer and His word. And yes you are trusted. God Himself is trusting you with people, for you to love people by being their good example! And God's children are to follow His example > "Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma." (Ephesians 5:1-2) So, yes God so loves us, but this is our example required also of us who are His children. This is not how Satan's children are living! There are ones who are not living as God's children. And God enforces our good example, too. I note how Paul and Silvanus and Timothy related with the Thessalonians > "as a nursing mother cherishes her own children" (in 1 Thessalonians 2:7). I see it is possible that God used certain Christian nursing women to show Paul and Silvanus and Timothy how our Father expects us to tenderly nurture and care for God's children. God used their example, and required this of great men, even like Paul and Silvanus and Timothy, I think And they got the message, while Moses . . . for a while, anyway. . . had the example but didn't get it (Numbers 11:11-12). So, we do not only have a label of being God's children, but we have how we are expected to actively seek our Father's correction (Hebrews 12:9-10) and relate tenderly and kindly, so personally and intimately, with each other (Colossians 3:12-13, Ephesians 4:31-32). So, certainly not all are relating as God's children. And Jesus is our way to do this. Many do not have Christ as their way to be and to love.
  4. Paul says "we all once . . . were children of wrath, just as the others." (in Ephesians 2:2) And we have Romans 8:15 > "For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, 'Abba, Father.'" (Romans 8:15) So, if this means we became adopted to become God's children, then we were not always His children. But there was while we were "children of wrath".
  5. "If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons." (Hebrews 12:7-8)
  6. "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God." (Ronans 8:14)
  7. And Paul says > "Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, He is not His." (in Romans 8:9)
  8. Yes, Paul says this . . . "'for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, "For we are also His offspring."'" (Acts 17:28)
  9. The fact is that anything we do could get us killed. And I have done my own self more harm, than anyone else has. So . . . as people of Jesus, do what is worth dying to do. Take the risks that Jesus has us take to love. This is my short answer. In case you are willing to read a long one, here is my personal testimony and opinion about how things have been working > While I was an evil person, I found it entertaining to make kids cry, and to torture animals even to death. My reason for doing something could be simply that I could do it. But I tried to not get caught or do what could result in me being controlled by the authorities, because then I would not be able to keep going my evil that I so treasured. I remember a kid giving me the silent treatment after I started picking on him . . . like I had been making a project of doing. No one stood up for him. The authorities did not stop me. That time, maybe he was holding his peace to let the Lord fight his battle; perhaps someone told him to do that. But I assumed someone had told him to be quiet so I could not be entertained by a reaction; and I told him that I understood that, but that I was going to stop, anyway. He still kept his mouth shut. The next year, he was gone. I assumed he had been removed and I was the one allowed to stay. That was puzzling to me. That year, my emotionally abusive father dried out in AA. And one late Saturday while my parents were at a party, I was watching one of those Chillerama things, and it was different. They only showed the bloodied victims but not the monster. That got me worried, then I became terrified of dying and going to Hell. So, I promised God I would be good, and while others cut up in my English class I would stare at her and wait for her to teach. And one kid dumped my briefcase of books, once, and my teacher, right there, apologized and helped pick up the books; and I might have said something like, that she was worth it. Next year, they moved me from my low group up with the top students in the ninth grade. Before that change, one time the church door man, and maybe the town's whole police department, told me I could not bring a dog to church, plus he would not make sure the doggie I had found would stay until I got out. Going by that, I decided to get back at God by becoming a fake priest and get back at humans by derailing trains and killing and crippling as many people as I could . . . without getting caught. There was one problem > I knew I had a way of getting caught. May be that was why I decided I should act perfectly, even in secret, so I could fool my way into being a fake priest. But then some "thinking" came along, saying something like, "How are you going to act perfect even in secret in order to become a fake priest, and be derailing trains which would not be acting perfect in secret?" I had no answer for that, except to drop the fake Priest plan. Then I told my precious buddy about my dream to derail trains, and he said it is not cool to hurt people; so, because I treasured my one friend from the other side of the track . . . I stole pumpkins, instead. Now I see > God in the form of that "thinking" answered to my revenge plan, against Him, to become a fake priest, and He used a human to answer to my anti-people plan. Then came the Chillerama event, and later I put money in envelopes with apologies on the envelopes for stealing pumpkins, and during a rainy night I walked in tears down a train track back to the neighborhood where I had stolen the pumpkins, and I guessed which house should get each envelope. But still I could pick and choose who was good enough to love, going only by what boys and girls looked like. I still did not know how to love!! And possibly a lot of suffering and degradation, all along, has come from how guys do not know how to love, but can judge females mainly by what they look like. And some number of females try to meet the expectations of guys who do not know how to love, while other females can suffer to no end feeling rejected because they have not been dated and socially accepted by guys who do not know how to love. This beauty discrimination problem has been fed and nurtured for so much longer than what we now are seeing. Unsure love . . . along with caring about money and beauty and pleasure, instead of real love . . . this possibly has been a long-time trouble which has helped to degrade so many people so we can have how things are now, while ones are so busy with pointing and blaming elsewhere. Ones can even make a major thing of racial and other discrimination, right while victims of discrimination can themselves practice beauty discrimination!! . . . instead of finding out how to love those who do not know how to love > our example can help any person find out how to love: God uses example along with prayer and His word; this is still what works . . . through Jesus . . . our answer is Jesus.
  10. Oh my . . . she hit three "cats"!! It looks like spell check is visually impaired. E-E-E-E ! ! ! !
  11. When was he upset? While later talking to the police, or right after he shot the boy? In case it was right after, did he try to phone 911 and get the boy help? Another thing . . . was the boy right up to the door? When I knock on a stranger's door, I then get back down the steps and stand back where someone can see me from a window so they can know I'm not crowding the door so I can press or pressure my way in. Even so, the boy was picking up family members; so he could have felt familiar enough to be right up close to the door.
  12. "Peachy" It takes time to become a good old peach. First there's that cute little buddy so-o-o fuzzy . . . then the green teen, not exactly mature. But even in our middle years yes we can be oh-so colorful in all that peachlight coming down all around us; and yet we're still going to get at least a little bit bitter and sour, deep-down inside. Because we need to go through some heat of the summer before we can reach a ripe old age; but then is when we can get sweeter and sweeter and more and more juicy; because we made that commitment to learn how to love > "'Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.'" (Matthew 11:29)
  13. "God does not force anyone to trust in Jesus." God transforms a person, gently and kindly, so then the person is alive in love and humility to trust in Jesus, and not to depend on self's free will. But become sharing with Jesus in His freedom.
  14. When the men of the whole city of Sodom gathered to try to abuse the two angels at Lot's house . . . I suppose you could say that was a flash mob thing. So . . . flash mobs maybe have not just gotten invented. A rumor can spread very quickly, even with no phones or Net spread, but simply by word of mouth. And flash mob's communication can spread like a rumor can, I would say. And it can be that no one knows who started the rumor, or the flash mob thing. The possibility of not being detected might encourage whoever starts the thing. So . . . now, yes, media technology can be used to hide the identity of the one starting a flash mob. But I think it can be done by word of mouth, too. Why can it be so easy to do this? I consider how Germany was a high-tech and educated country . . . "civilized". Yet, in the general German population there were enough psychopaths to do the Nazi thing and make a major challenge for the Allies to stop them. Such people are present in any country's population, I would say . . . ready-to-go psychopaths; because sin maintains them for Satan. There were "Americans" who became functional to hate and raid and murder Native Americans and Mexicans, in order to take their sovereign lands. And whole countries could cooperate with raiding and murdering and kidnapping Africans in order to get slaves . . . so people could make money from cotton. And the British raided and murdered African people in order to use their lands to grow what? > > coffee?? And British mothers and fathers cooperated with their sons being killed as soldiers, in order to do that. Now, if a parent let his or her son get killed in order for you to get a cup of coffee, this morning . . . what would you call that parent? As soon as Sadam Hussein was out of the way . . . ISIS was ready to go. You might remove one bully, only to discover another is ready to take over. Satan's kingdom has such ones always ready. Look at how all those Jewish mothers and fathers were ready to say > "His blood be on us and on our children." Those were religious, respected moms and dads who could become able to curse their own children with the shed blood of Jesus!! Because there is "the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience." (in Ephesians 2:2) This spirit of selfishness "works" in people, by means of the weakness of their sin. People of Satan do not know how they will become, how they could become. Because of Satan's spirit working through the weakness of sin, people can be so ready to react about not getting their own way, or fearing they won't . . . instead of being first ready to respond with love and prayer and hope > love "hopes all things".
  15. "Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." (Romans 8:26) This scripture does not say you can not hear groaning. There is groaning which can be heard, and words that can be heard, and words of prayer not heard. And we "praying in the Holy Spirit" (Jude 1:20), I would say, can share with the Holy Spirit in how He prays in groaning deeper than words. Communication can be deeper than words, and very intimate with groaning . . . of love with tender caring and affection. And every child of God is "one spirit with Him", we have in 1 Corinthians 6:17. So, if we are one with the Holy Spirit we can pray in such deep and sensitive sharing with Him and one another who pray in submission to the Holy Spirit. And, of course, while you are groaning with love and appreciation and compassion, you can also be speaking in your known language or any language God pleases. "Therefore submit to God." (in James 4:7) And discover how God has us praying in sharing with Him > "praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit" (in Ephesians 6:18). Supplication can be very personal and deeper than words.
  16. We are called "saints" (example > Ephesians 1:1), and "elect of God, holy and beloved" (Colossians 3:12), and "children of God" (1 John 3:1). Of course, our Apostle Paul says he is "chief" of "sinners", in 1 Timothy 1:15. But when Paul writes to God's people, he does not call us "sinners". Plus, elsewhere Paul calls himself an "apostle" in various letters, but also Paul calls himself "less than the least of all the saints" in Ephesians 3:8. So, I see, then, that our Biblical identity is not "sinner", but "child of God" and "elect" and "saint". Oh yes, and we do have Peter using "Christian", in 1 Peter 4:16. But I think we have godly people who say they are "sinners". And they do not mean they are children of Satan. But they mean that they still sin, even after trusting in Jesus for salvation. And they call themselves sinners, in order to be honest about the fact that they still are not perfectly like Jesus and therefore they still fail and sin, at times. And they mean to be humble, by saying they are sinners, so they are not trying to show they are better than anyone else. But we should not call ourselves sinners, in order to use this as an excuse to keep on failing > Philippians 2:13-16 I offer, can help us to get stronger against our sin problems and discover how we can live in God's way of love, instead.
  17. Jesus Himself is the truth. So, truth who is Jesus is not only words and ideas, but reality of how God is and shares this with us in our character. So, it is not characteristics and habits that we try to get ourselves to work on. But God changes us to how He is in love > "Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world." (1 John 4:17) "Therefore submit to God." (in James 4:7) And seek how He is able to correct our character (Hebrews 12:4-14) into how Jesus is gentle and humble, so pleasing to our Father, and all-loving while sharing as family with us . . . what His words are talking about and ministering to happen by action of His grace.
  18. Jesus says when He will return and gather His "elect" > "Immediately after the tribulation of those days" > You can check Matthew 24:29-31. He does not here say He will return immediately before, but immediately after. Plus, no scripture directly says Jesus will come back just before the end-time tribulation. In case we are present while God's wrath judgments come upon the evil, our Father is able to control Himself so His wrath things do not hurt us. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego were thrown into that fiery furnace, but those flames did not hurt them. But those same flames did kill the soldiers who threw them in there. Like this, God is able to manage who is and is not affected by His wrath judgments. But there are pre-trib believers who say that Jesus has to come before the great tribulation so they can avoid God's wrath judgments of the trib. But this is not a Biblical reason for a pre-trib return of Jesus, because our Father is able to control Himself in how His wrath works. He is not like human abusive fathers who can hurt anyone who gets near to them.
  19. Well, already ones are killing and perhaps cremating their own unborn who they consider not worth caring for. And the Nazis did some cremating, for a while. But God has kept a sovereign limit on how much evil does.
  20. Well . . . if you can have virtual government workers, why not have virtual illegal border crossers? That can't work unless people recognize their authority, I suppose. Anyone can make claims about themselves. But we see how the world court claims to have authority to order the arrest of Vladimir, and he can just ignore that. World-this and world-that can't do anything, unless people choose to cooperate ***Please note: Neighbor is not claiming this, here, but Neighbor is stating what John MacArthur is saying.*** So, now all of a sudden America has become pagan! How about while ones claiming to be Christians were invading sovereign Indian lands? Men took their wives and kids into Indian lands, where they could be killed and kidnapped, and were killing in order to enforce their invading of land that was not theirs. And the American military and others were killing Indian wives and children in order to take their lands. But now if noncombatant people cross America's borders, there is a major issue . . . after the United States killed Mexicans in order to take the land where some crossers are entering. And ones will say such is now the end of the world . . . when this has happened at other times on the North American continent. People can make it seem as though they speak for the whole world or for a whole group. But the quiet ones might be the ones who are thinking
  21. In answer to @Neighbor's post below > This post got messed up. So, I cleared it and I have offered a more clear post . . .
  22. What do we mean by a "BD"? About how God wants to take care of you > He can guide you about what He desires you to do. Trust Him to guide you, including making you able to hear Him and able to sense and submit to how He takes you along. And He is able to reach where physical drugs can not reach. And His peace in our minds is almighty so no nasty emotions and reacting can drive away His peace.
  23. If they reach millions, 144,000 in one million could mean less than ten were reached by each servant. But what if each reached person then passed on the message and ministry? This could add up quickly . . . if every reached one reached at least one more, each day. On the first day, one is reached, so the two can reach two more the next day; then four reaching make it eight; each day doubling gives > sixteen, 32, 64, 120, 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 4000, 8000, 16,000, 32,000, 64,000, 120,000, 240,000, 500,000, 1,000,000 . . . by 21 days, roughly, if each reached person reaches one more each next day. And from one million, with all reaching > 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 120, 240, 500,000,000 then 1 billion reaching each day leads to > 2, 4, 8, 15, 32, 64, 120, 240, 500 billion > 1 trillion, then 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 120, 240, 500 trillion . . . in about 30 more days, from just one servant if all reached people join in the reaching . . . of only one person per day. Jesus Himself had three years to reach, though . . . and Paul had longer. But in days God could have trillions, with practical methods of reaching. Do what God has you do. And I would say, spend time with people so they can feed on your example.
  24. I think you are saying: Could we turn against God, even after He proved Himself by splitting the Red Sea and drowning Pharaoh and his minions, and after God cared for us with water coming out of a rock? If we did not have Jesus . . . yes. Look at how those religious and socially respectable mommies and daddies could demand the crucifixion of Jesus, even after how He had so proven Himself. And how about how so many Germans . . . educated, religious, socially accepted . . . could fool themselves into joining Adolf. All in sin are in one spirit > "the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience." (in Ephesians 2:2) I think we have all experienced how Satan's spirit of selfishness can work very hard . . . by means of hard-working lusts for pleasure, hardening anger and hard-headed reacting and arguing about not getting our own way, hard and cruel fear and worry and frustration. And ones depending on themselves can fool their own selves into trusting others who promise less than God does with us while we obey Him in His peace > "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15) In God's peace right now we can share with Him and each other in better than all that worldly ones are promising us while threatening us about how certain people will take from us what is so inferior to to all we have with God while we obey Him in His peace. In this peace of our Creator, we have His love's creativity for doing better than what certain people keep promising but are not doing. We don't have time for promising while we are doing what our Father is committed to do with us But those Jews and Nazis alike were fearing not having what is inferior. And so they were unified in Satan's spirit so they could as one be taken the wrong way . . . to depend on themselves and what they could hope to do.
  25. If God is able to resurrect the warmth and new life, the beauty and the sweet smells of spring . . . how much more our Father is committed to resurrect in us the kindness of His rest, and the pleasing fragrance of His Son Jesus growing in us
