Anyone else ever HEAR in their dreams?
CaptWalker replied to CaptWalker's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
Greetings and thanks for all the info, very enlightening and i was thinking this might be just a normal occurrence. But sounds like it's pretty rare and there has to be certain circumstances for anyone to actually experience it? But i have definitely been under a lot of stress lately with still looking for a full-time job and being on probation for a DUI, with a court date next month on another charge. As for hearing noises while i'm dreaming, it has happened quite a bit and sometimes i don't even wake up. And i will sometimes hear someone talking very clearly and saying things at times that i can't even relate to so i wouldn't think it is simply from my own thoughts, but still the subconscious part of our brains can do some strange things while we are asleep. But i am not on any meds or do drugs, but am taking a sleep aid/hot tea at night. And i did btw share a recent dream i had in the General discussion forum in case you missed it. -
Idk, maybe this is normal but it lately it seems like i have been literally hearing loud noises or people talking in a lot of dreams, such as a door slamming LOUDLY or someone's voice very clearly, and don't recall it happening much at all when i was younger? And sometimes it would wake me up and would be thinking it could have actually been someone else in the house still awake making noises, such as slamming the microwave door(yeah very considerate roommates, right!) But most times when i get up to check all are asleep and nothing going on. But as far as hearing people talking in my dreams it just seems much more clear than i ever remember, but maybe it is something a lot people experience? And the mind is a very powerful thing and i guess what we can imagine someone saying to us is probably that much more intensified when we are in a deep sleep state?

What if God had tried this same human "experiment" on other planets but they all failed the test, and then were eventually wiped out by God and those planets rendered un-inhabitable? And we are the first ones to pass the test so far...i know probably not likely but have always wondered what God's purpose was in creating so many "stars" that are so far away, but maybe an astonomer or scientist could answer this better, such as why we actually need them to balance the universe or something, but just guessing?

Who is the one "taken"?
CaptWalker replied to CaptWalker's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
Actually that Biblehub.com link provided would also work in finding the meanings of certain words, just type in the verse at the top. -
Who is the one "taken"?
CaptWalker replied to CaptWalker's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
Maybe i said it wrong but i was referring to the one "taken" in Matthew-24 and Luke-17, and the original meaning of that word has nothing to do with being raptured or caught away, but you need a Strong's concordance or Greek lexicon to find the true meaning. And Harpazo is the same as "caught up" but it is still referring to the very LAST trump as i have always believed. -
Was just wondering why all the pre-tribbers always point to this as the rapture, when the Greek word for "taken" is not the same as HARPAZO in 1st Thess.4:17? Actually it is not even related at all and the meaning has nothing to do with being raptured, but still many Christians either ignore that fact or just don't think it's relevant and simply go with what they have always been taught without even questioning it?

Prophetic 1968 vision of WW3 by a 90 years old woman revisited
CaptWalker replied to R. Hartono's topic in Prophecy
I actually would like to know whatever became of the Fatima prophecies and if we are still waiting for the final one to come to pass...i think it had something to do with the last Pope? Idk maybe someone else knows a lot more about this, i just don't like wasting time doing online searches for what i consider non-Biblical prophecies but am still interested in it. -
Anyone had any strange dreams lately?
CaptWalker replied to CaptWalker's topic in General Discussion
Well it's kind of weird that you mentioned that dream because i have a seasonal job doing most of the work at their residence which is right on a lake with their own pier with many others around as well. And this is also btw down here in Georgia, actually the north part of the state. But anyway just thought i would mention that, and most of my dreams are also about being in houses and buildings, or just locations in general where nothing much is going on, but it just seems like it's always about a place in particular. Maybe it's somewhere God is calling me to, idk? But maybe it's something you should pray about before going to sleep, and that if these dreams are important then God would give you some more insight or even a sign as to where this place(s) is, and if it's where you should be? But either way you will usually know if it's something from your subconscious(which most dreams are) or if God is actually trying to show you something. -
Was just wondering because last night i had kind of a scary one...i was basically waiting in a downtown type area with some other people and then noticed a line of very young people, maybe even teenagers, walking by and sounded like they were singing that song "I'd like to teach the world to sing"? (You can find it on Youtube if you're not familiar with it.) Anyway almost immediately after they were gone, out of nowhere come these large utility type vehicles, kind of like the ones with the cranes, some longer than others. But they were going so fast that it took them almost no time to block off the streets and almost any possible exit. Then i noticed what looked like an abandoned shop so i went in to hide and saw people running by, and then it ended. But just thought i would throw that out there in case anyone else had some similar dreams. (Also i forgot to mention that these vehicles seemed to be partly orange in color.)

Prophetic 1968 vision of WW3 by a 90 years old woman revisited
CaptWalker replied to R. Hartono's topic in Prophecy
I don't agree with all of that, especially the events of the 1st half of tribulation, but won't get into that here. But i do agree how so many of these new wave churches have turned to these concert style services. And have very little if any programs or outreach efforts to help the poor and reach the lost. Maybe helping a food bank or something along those lines but not much else. And many of them only have Sunday services when even denoms like Baptists still have Wednesday services and Sunday night, yet it's always the old fashioned churches that these new generation/millennial Christians seem to criticize the most. -
About "Temp" jobs/employment...?
CaptWalker replied to CaptWalker's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
Yes i also have gotten several jobs over the years through them but almost none of them worked out or lasted more than a couple of months before the assignment ended or i just quit. Usually because they always seem to send in way too many temps to the same company and you end up standing around or there is just not enough work to begin with. And also i have never heard of any staffing agency being either run or formed by Christians, and in fact most of them come off as just the opposite as far as the type of people in there offices and there attitudes. If you do quit an assignment then from that point on you will likely bel treated as an inferior or talked down to like you're some teenager who just started working. Anyway just kind of needed to get that off my chest mainly because of a recent bad experience i had where i was upset and frustrated at not being able to use a tablet as well as everyone else, and did something stupid when i slammed the refrigerator door a bit too hard as i was leaving and someone in the hallway confronted me about it but i just left. Anyway i get a call/message from the agency asking why i left and slammed the door(LOL), well actually it wasn't funny just thought it was weird, but really didn't surpirse me given previous experiences with other temp companies. And they always say there hiring but then you find out they only have a couple of jobs in places too far to commute. Anyway just seems like if you can't get work at one of these places then your just kind of screwed because i havent been able to get a job even at Mcdonalds or other fast food places, probably because they would rather hire someone with experience i'm guessing? But i am always open to suggestion but seems like i just keep hearing the same thing, that EVERYONE is hiring, but that doesn't necessarily mean they will hire you, just saying. -
Well i know this is a strange question, but was wondering if anyone here is/was also working at a job through some staffing agency, and then i will further explain my own experience, thanks.

Yeah it is the App Trail, but actually having many towns near it seems like a really good thing as far as an easy access for hikers and for getting supplies, etc. But anyway i am pretty sure what Matthew 24 was referring to was only about what was going to happen in Israel. And yes i also would think the Continental Divide would be much better locale for anyone who was wanting to live "off the grid", but that kind of life just seems way too boring and i personally would not "head for the hills" until the very END...but that's just me. And btw i know this was kind of a weird post/subject title but i was just trying to avoid the typical ones.

Was just wondering if anyone here has ever hiked either one and if such places out in the "wilderness" might also be places of escape when the GREAT Tribulation is about to come, and if it would be the same here in the US as Christ said it would be in Matthew-24:16-18 for Israel?? But either way i have been getting a strong feeling that very soon options like this could be my/your only way to escape all that is coming on all the common/heathen people who have decided to worship the AntiChrist and take the "mark"...?
-
I for one always feel better when anyone of my fellow "brethren/Sisters" are at PEACE...because at that point i feel like maybe i have made some difference in someone else's life...and even if it was someone else and not me who spoke those encouraging words, it doesn't even matter at that point...GODSPEED!

I have to admit that i used to believe that Satan had already been cast out, but i now believe that the archangel Michael is still keeping him in "chains" along with all Lucifers fallen angels and they will ALL be released at an appointed time just like in the "days of Noah", which will occur right at or near the very beginning of the last half of the tribulation. But for right now the "spirits" of Lucifer/demons are still allowed to roam the earth, just as he/they were in JOB-1:6 and 2:1. And i'm sure some also believe that maybe this could have changed after Christ was crucified, but either way it just doesn't make much sense for Satan in person to be already cast out of heaven when there are not any Old testament references to this except those in the book of JOB. But then again their are very MANY who still believe that most events of the tribulation all occurred in 70A.D., so nothing surprises me anymore!?

Don't be so hard on yourself...anger may seem like a very bad thing to struggle with but in my opinion there are even worse sins such as alcohol/drug abuse, pornography addiction, etc or simply never really praying much about any of your "issues", which i am guilty of myself. Either way there is such a thing called Righteous indignation, where God does allow you to be angry about how certain people behave or what is going on all around you. Just today i was almost run off the road TWICE, and i can really only thank God that i had quick enough reflexes to avoid a major accident, or else it could have turned out a lot different, and i most likely would not even be able to post this right now. But regardless, these things do happen and the one at fault for your anger is the one who causes it, and even if you forgive that person it still doesn't always make the anger go away. And actually i feel God will only judge us for not forgiving those who ask for it, just as He expects us also to repent, and so an extra blessing is on those of us who readily forgive even without anyone asking for it who has offended you.

What's wrong with Christian TV...?
CaptWalker replied to CaptWalker's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
It's probably a really good thing i've never met or seen any of those type people personally such as when there not "on air", because when i get in a certain mood i have a tendency to say things that they would NOT appreciate hearing whatsoever, and will just leave it at that...but Proverbs-28:23 is still true and even moreso in these times. -
What's wrong with Christian TV...?
CaptWalker replied to CaptWalker's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
I agree that most are basically corrupt or in it for personal gain, under the guise of spreading the gospel, or either simply not wanting to go off the air. But their is one TV show i have been watching with mother and daughter hosts but won't mention who out of respect since i don't like calling names if at all possible, but am sure many here have heard of them. Either way it seems like more of a "word of faith" approach but at the same time she will sometimes give personal testimonies of some of the miracles God has done for her and those she has prayed for and they seem very legit. So my question is if they are real then why would God do those things for someone who is in it only for the $$$, or is it possible that the "seed of faith" approach can work when done with the right motives?? I just don't know who to believe anymore but am thinking maybe all the fake preachers are ruining it for the very select few who are genuine? -
What's wrong with Christian TV...?
CaptWalker replied to CaptWalker's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
I watch mostly for Bible study and there are a few good ones out there like that, but the majority are word of faith type shows where these preachers quote verses trying to push there own agendas or viewpoints, or basically end up going into irrelevant topics that have nothing to do with what the "message" was supposed to be about. And then there's a "live prayer" show that is ok until they start soliciting for donations and they can get quite pushy about it too. Even those so-called Bible teachers who come off as really genuine and humble will end up sending you maillings for you to send in your prayer requests along with a certain donation amount of course, $25 is usually the suggested MINIMUM. But most people are probably aware of this already, and to me it's really just some of the personalities seem to be a lot stranger now but guess that's just the younger generation for you? -
Maybe it's just me but i've noticed lately how a lot of TV "preachers" have seemed to be getting a little weirder,or maybe they've been that way all along and i'm just noticing it? Especially some of the late night shows i've seen, and i end up trying to choose which one is less weird than the others, it's ridiculous. But again maybe it's just me and i'm alone in this, but that's ok i'm used it by now.

I guess you can come out now, but you mean you didn't even go to one of those boring candle light services?? Seriously though, if you are going to certain public places then expect some crowds because seems like a lot of people are still on Holiday "vacation". Either way there are some good things about this time of year such as focusing on helping the less fortunate and on others more than yourself, but unfortunately that seems to be rare now even among Christians, and it is basically an entirely family based holiday for the most part. Most charities almost have to beg for donations. And even ultra Liberals believe in giving to the poor and goodwill to men, but that alone doesn't automatically make them kind-hearted people, at least not in a moral sense. And i've really always wondered about Revelation-11:10..."And they that dwell upon the earth shall REJOICE over them, and make MERRY,and shall send GIFTS to one another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwell on the earth." Hmmm...?

Jonah's short journey??
CaptWalker replied to CaptWalker's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
I guess the real question that skeptics would ask is just how anyone could survive in the belly of any big "fish" for any time at all, much less 3 days?? I personally believe it only due to what Christ quoted in Matthew-12:39-40, and how this event is directly related to what Christ experienced in the grave. Also i find it interesting how Jonah was fast asleep as Christ was also during that storm, and the reactions of the sailors were basically the same as that of the disciples. -
Jonah's short journey??
CaptWalker replied to CaptWalker's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
You're right and i guess it really makes no difference as far as whether or not a true believer/Christian believes this event really happened just as "Holy Scripture" says it did...but it just makes it that much harder to convince the naysayers, who take this as just some made up "fish tale". -
Well i've always thought it was possible to receive Christ or "convert" on a purely mental/intellectual level simply by mouthing the words, even though John-6:44 seems to differ on this. And it does say in Romans-10:9 "if you confess with your mouth", but it also says in the same verse about believing in your HEART, so at some point you would need to have or develop some emotional connection with the Father, through Christ, or else you could end up questioning your salvation until you do. Or maybe i'm missing the whole point being made here but just thought i would throw that out there as something to think out.
