  1. I am a CCW carrier. I carry my weapon to church, as do the others on our security team. We are all retired military If someone comes into my church and threatens the lives of the members, as has happened in other churches, I will kill him. I will do the same to defend any stranger on the street whose life is threatened, if there is no other recourse. Jesus will judge me. But we've already discussed it. He knows my heart.
  2. I believe that the woman clothed with the sun is Israel, and the twelve stars of her crown are the tribes of Israel. The child that she gives birth to is the Messiah of Israel, and Savior of the gentiles, Jesus Christ. He is the King of Kings who will rule all nations.
  3. I have a CCW license. And I utilize it in public. I also am part of my church's security team. And I carry at my church. I rarely think of self defense. I think of defending others in life threatening situations. If a Satan inspired potential mass murderer comes into my church and threatens my congregation, I will drop him. I have already thought this through, and will not be caught off guard, or hesitate. Jesus knows this. We've talked about it.
  4. Jesus is the light of the world. There is only darkness without him. Man, left to his own devices, without the salvation of Jesus Christ, is dead already. John 1:4-9 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
  5. Adam was God's husbandman on earth. He was given dominion over the earth by God Almighty. All of humanity was contained in Adam. When Adam yielded to the manipulation and temptation of Satan, and turned away from God, by seeking independence from God, he ceded his God given dominion over the world to Satan. Satan manipulated and deceived Adam into ceding dominion over the world so he could take it. Jesus redeems us, and the entire world. He buys everything back, and restores it to it's proper state. Jesus pays the price for Adam's fall, and our fallen state. Each of us must reclaim our dependence on God Almighty, through Jesus Christ, to correct Adam's sin in us. We must become new men. Seeking independence from God is the root of all sin. All of us must choose God Almighty, and Jesus Christ freely. This was God's purpose before the foundations of the world. True love must be freely given and embraced.
  6. I'm glad you posted this. I hadn't heard of this movie. Now I want to see it. As soon as I saw that you liked it, I knew what the reviews would be like. Sure enough Rotten Tomatoes 62%, Metacritic 46%, but real people liked this movie to the tune of 94%. God still moves people. Always will. I was little kid in the 60's. My Uncle ran a Christian youth center. When we went to church, he was always inviting "hippies" off the street to join us. Counterculture is a misleading term. Today's counterculture is opposed to God. The "hippies" I knew in the 60's and 70's weren't opposed to Jesus, and many sought and found him. So they were actually more like me, than appearances would indicate. Nothing unites like Jesus Christ.
  7. We will all have new names. Revelation 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
  8. Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
  9. The fruits of the Spirit are best displayed by Jesus Christ. Nobody was more humble than the man who was, and is, and always will be God. Philippians 2:5-8 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
  10. I submit to Jesus Christ. And he's my best friend. Nobody else is even close. The faithful are the bride of Christ. Including men. Every man needs to remember that Christ submitted himself to death on the cross us. And he submitted himself to his Father's will, out of love for us. Men need to protect and love their wives as Christ protects and loves his faithful. Love without submission is impossible. Love gives rather than takes. We are not independent. 1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
  11. John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Philippians 4:11-12 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
  12. We are human and can misunderstand anything. But when reading, or discussing the Bible, it's always good to yield to the Holy Spirit, and pray for understanding. It's also important not to belittle the views of others. We of faith are all getting closer to God, and are at various spots on the road. The strong should help the weaker with kindness, and empathy. In the example of the Sadducees questioning Jesus, we have something totally different. They are not seeking God. They are attacking Jesus. They expose their hypocrisy immediately by asking about an afterlife that they don't even believe in. Heretically using the Bible with the intent of belittling God, his son Jesus Christ, or the little ones who believe in him is a terrible sin that goes right to a false heart. To understand and appreciate the word of God, we must have a heart for God, and a yearning to draw ever closer to him. Jesus is the way. He is the only way. He will draw us closer.
  13. Jesus unites God with humanity. He was God and man. He still is. And his Spirit in us does the same thing. Through the Spirit we have God in us. This is the intimately close relationship between God and man that must exist for us to live eternally in the presence of God. God's plan is perfect. We just need to accept his loving purpose of unity with him. John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
  14. Here's a Bible verse about addictions: Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; The Holy Spirit strengthens us to overcome worldly weaknesses. We are new creatures. Staying in the Word gives the Spirit full sway in our lives. As far as Bible verse tattoos, they are fine, as long as the are outward expressions of the inward man. Jeremiah 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
  15. Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. Romans 11:32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
  16. Revelation 6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. A day's wages just to feed yourself for that same day. That seems to be the goal.
  17. God spoke through his prophets who wrote the Bible. He has spoken through every believer from the first through today. When a Christian speaks of matters of faith, it is the Spirit of God speaking through him. That's a lot different from the wordly "wisdom" unGodly men spew.
  18. I've always thought of that verse as powerful and difficult. It's a lot easier to love my neighbor as myself, because I don't love myself all that much. But loving my neighbor with the power, intensity, compassion, and empathy that Jesus has for me, and us, is a much higher hurdle. 1 Jno 4:19-21 We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
  19. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
  20. John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
  21. Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
  22. Rev 19:11-13 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
  23. John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
