My son is a Registered Nurse in an ICU in El Paso and has had both shots already (Pfizer). His wife is in Medical School - has had both Moderna shots - got sick from the 2nd shot - slept 13 hours. I take my second Moderna shot 17 March. When I was a kid - we lined up and ate sugar cubes for a polio vaccination - I didn't know what was in the sugar cube - or what the vaccine that they scratched on my arm was... We all had scars on our upper arms - there were many kids in wheelchairs - at least one in every grade. I guess we were not sophisticated enough in those days to think vaccines were the Mark of the Beast.

1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, https://www.blueletterbible.org/assets/images/copyChkboxOff.gif 1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Rapture is AT the last trumpet - not 7 years before it, not 3 1/2 years before it -- but AT THE LAST TRUMPET

1Sa 28:15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do. https://www.blueletterbible.org/assets/images/copyChkboxOff.gif 1Sa 28:16 Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the LORD is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy? https://www.blueletterbible.org/assets/images/copyChkboxOff.gif 1Sa 28:17 And the LORD hath done to him, as he spake by me: for the LORD hath rent the kingdom out of thine hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even to David: Look - THE BIBLE says Samuel was called up from the dead and spoke with Saul - it FLAT OUT SAYS IT WAS SAMUEL Believe it - or believe some false SDA Soul Sleep doctrine

Some of the language about "beaten with few stripes - beaten with many stripes" could apply strictly to BAEMA judgement seat of Christ - which deals with saved people only. This does away with the false notion of "levels of Hell" like a cosmic Dante's Inferno. Hell was created for Devil and his angels - first called SHEOL... Humans start going there - from Abel to the "morally neutral" hades - til Christ and the harrowing of hell - and now "bad" human souls await being dumped into Lake of Fire

I am not of the opinion that things in a parable are DE FACTO "not true". I am not of the opinion that a PARABLE only makes ONE POINT - a myth that used to go around. I believe every thing in the Luke 16 account is TRUE concerning HADES as it was before the resurrection. The rich man was in that portion of Hades called Torments, it was divided from where Beggar Lazarus was - in "Abraham's Bosom" or Paradise. There was a Gulf between the 2 sections that could not be crossed. We know that Christ preached to THE SPIRITS IN PRISON when He descended to Hades. The idea that He brought those deemed to be forgiven with Him back up to Heaven has crudely been called THE HARROWING OF HELL, and I think it is a reality. On what basis OT people were deemed to go to heaven we are not given. There was an old book - WHAT HAPPENNED FROM THE CROSS TO THE THRONE - that delved into all of this. Luke 16 gave us truth about HADES as it then was - before the resurrection, but HADES (which simply means THE UNSEEN REALM - that's what hades means in Greek - SEEN with the negating alpha in front) was "changed" (again). HELL - created for the devil and his angels... Changed into the HADES which held "good and bad" men as well, then was Tartarus holding only the "bad" dead after THE HARROWING OF HELL. Repentant thief on the Cross was to be with Christ THAT DAY in PARADISE - and so he was. One must decide whether it was "I tell you - today you will be with me in Paradise" or 'I tell you today - that you will be with me in paradise Pictures of the afterlife in the Bible are sometimes confusing - whether the dead are conscious or not has the Luke 16 account showing they definitely are, as well as Samuel being called up by Witch of Endor to speak with Saul - to me this establishes by preponderance of the evidence that the SOUL SLEEP of SDA's and others is not valid.

Cats literally tremble at the scent of Buddy. Buddy has reserved a whole theatre for a showing of the new Tom and Jerry Movie. Buddy has literally become all things to all mice. -
Water you can drink and never be thirsty again - that's figurative. "A certain man from Jerusalem went down to Jericho, fell among some thieves who beat him" - it SOUNDS literal - but its figurative, its a parable - the certain man is not a REAL man that travelled, but a hypothetical man in Jesus' story. The parable in Luke 16 about Beggar Lazarus and the rich man and Abraham - I have seen posters on boards that INSIST this is a true story - the rich man even has a name - Divas - a character in Jesus' parable has been given a name by someone else. We have LITERAL TRUTH about Hades divided between Torments and Abraham's Bosom - it's not like that anymore, but it used to be. Did Samson pick up a donkey's jawbone and kill a THOUSAND Philistines with it before he put the jawbone down? a THOUSAND? Now come on - hyperbolic - like they sang Saul has slain his thousands and David has slain his TEN THOUSANDS - figurative, hyperbolic. The Bible is figurative often - God did not literally BARE HIS HOLY ARM IN THE SIGHT OF THE HEATHEN, or blast anything with THE BREATH OF HIS NOSTRILS, in fact - God does not literally have a RIGHT HAND - it is FIGURATIVE that Jesus is seated next to the right hand of God - "for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it" is figurative, for God does not literally have a mouth - God is Spirit. Jesus is not literally a Sheepgate, He is not really a Door... a sharp two-edged sword is not really sticking out of his mouth where did this demonizing of the FIGURATIVE come from?

Figurative and Literal according to Buddy the Mouse

And the crowd wast astonied at Buddy's doctrine, for he spoke as a simple mouse, and not as the Scribes and the Pharisees. "Ye know that literally cutting off body parts wast not meant to be commanded, but that a figurative interpretation is preferred. Yet Peter literally walked on the water to Jesus for a while, then literally started to sink as he focused on the strong wind. Thus there are many figurative STRONG WINDS that Worthy posters may focus on - but even if they are LITERAL winds, they should not necessarily be focused on in all cases." And when Buddy had spoken thusly, a cloud received him from their sight, and no one knew if Buddy had literally vanished or not. -
And then Peter wanted a WHOLE SHOWER! There are many aspects to LITERAL and FIGURATIVE. I do not think that Joshua literally commanded the sun to stand still and it did - cuz I believe in a heliocentric solar system - but something literally happenned that caused more sunshine so Israelites could continue to slaughter whatever "-ITES" they were whupping up on that day. Even more incredible was the sun GOING BACKWARDS one time - more literal miraculous stuff, albeit sun and earth are reversed... Methodists believe in a REAL PRESENCE, just don't use Transubstantiation to explain it - but "My flesh is real food and my blood is real drink" makes it a bit more than SYMBOLIC, I think. Perhaps this could be explored more fully in a thread "FIGURATIVE AND LITERAL ACCORDING TO BUDDY THE MOUSE" Watch for it.
