Extreme Fad Diets don't Work - Lifestyle Changes Do!
FJK replied to Vine Abider's topic in Everything Else
Small changes add up to large changes over time. Whether you're still gaining weight or overweight but stable it is hard to look at your future as being a thousand calories less and eating foods you really don't like so when you reach a goal you just quit the died and go back to what your were doing before in your eating habits since you never really intended to make a permanent change to them to start with (just wanting to get rid of extra weight instead). But can you make a very small change, one you probably won;t really notice but can easily make a part of your daily diet? Most people can, it's easy, just decide to make a small change only, ask yourself "can I give up a hundred calories a day?". Can you do that? if you can't go on a major diet and sustain it, can you give up a hundred calories a day? Do it that way and you end up changing your diet long term with almost no effort or sense of loss involved, just try it and see. Big things are the cumulative result of little things, whether for the good or the bad. -
What do you think is the most powerful chapter in the Bible? And why?
FJK replied to Kristina's topic in General Discussion
The power of the Bible is not the individual chapters as I see it, but the whole of it. Each part of it has its own place and message but any of them without the other to support it really has little or no power at all. It's like the engine in your car, as a whole if functions and does all that it is designed to do, but remove one part of it and you're not going anywhere. Just the way I look at things, others may see it differently and each of us probably find themselves seeing it differently during the different stages in our lives as we progress through them. -
I have to add that when you find yourself in a situation you must first realize it was your decisions -your choices- that led you into it. If you want to change the situation you have to make new choices and make them differently than you have made them in the past. Everything is related, if you change one thing you change all things, So when you find yourself up against a wall, just change one thing about your life, it doesn't have to be a large thing, just a small one done with absolute consistency will do, and wee for yourself how the other things in your life start changing to conform with it. Don't question it and put it off, as a pair of running shoes might say, "Just do it".

Seems to me that that acceleration of the apostasy is the result of people calling themselves Christian rushing to embrace it, many of whom also condemn those who do not.

Why do things like water systems have to be available online instead of being closed systems with no available external access anyway? -

Be interesting to know his name and other details about him, but I doubt that will ever be made public. -

I imagine Judge Engoron and Letitia James are a little unsettled by this development. -
That's a question that really needs to be asked of a Jew, a well learned Rabbi or a Rebbe. There is *esoterically) withing Judaism both the concept of a hell, a purgatory of sorts, and a heaven. But most will be unlikely to speak of it and many will simply not know of it.

WorthyNews:Biden Turns Easter Sunday Into ‘Transgender Day’
FJK replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
It's interesting to look at the White House Easter message and compare it with the White House Transgender visibility message. I'm not making any judgements about it when I suggest this, just encouraging people to look them up on the White House website and compare them. -
Just that we should seek to know his purpose in giving us the leaders he gives us.

How do they get their leaders in Canada?

WorthyNews:Biden Turns Easter Sunday Into ‘Transgender Day’
FJK replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
The dividing into factions began under Clinton and has deliberately been continued by every President since (except Trump), wit the divisions becoming irreconcilable under the direction of Obama, Trump may have introduced a glitch into it and tried to reverse it, but it was a small one that was immediately quashed by Biden when he took office and magnified in intensity ever since to the extent that we are now past the point we would have been at if Hillary had won. God gives us our leaders, we should look to see his purposes in what we see happening. -

Do what? Banning religious art or the egg roll? -
Biden is a self described devout Catholic of whom the Pope approves. Keep in mind that God gives us our leaders and we are to obey them.

It's been a part of the annual White House official Easter celebrations for something like 150 years now. -
Yes. Because needing to be convinced by worldly facts is trying to have a fact based faith and a fact based faith is no faith at all, it is putting your faith in the things of the world instead of just accepting and putting faith in God. Jesus tells us that what we seek is what we find, seeking evidence from the world leads to finding the things of the world, and faith in God is not among them.

This may sound harsh, but are you sure that isn't what you are doing now?

Why radioactive decay dates beyond around 4300 years are invalid
FJK replied to dad2's topic in Science and Faith
All arguments are based on assumptions and are only true if the assumption itself can be proven true. The assumption itself is what should be under consideration, not the outcome of an argument developed from it. But no one likes to discuss that since it introduces uncertainty into understanding and human nature has a strong tendency to seek both certainty and reliability in life to create a comfortably predictable worldview to live by. -
WorthyNews:Biden Turns Easter Sunday Into ‘Transgender Day’
FJK replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
Outside of transgender day, I understand that Biden has barred any religious themed Easter eggs from the annual egg roll art contest at the White House. Makes one wonder if they understand what Easter celebrations are actually about, I would have expected a devout Catholic to know this. -
Things are changing, it is the nature of people not to notice a change until after it has happened, and on an increasingly larger scale than the last change that occurred being needed to recognize that it has happened. This is why people are so often caught by surprise when they suddenly faced with the reality that things are different and they were just a short time ago and don't know exactly when or how it happened, just that it has changed. I doubt the next change will be all that big, maybe no more than the end our lives as we have known them since the last change and a total loss of normalcy with a desperate grabbing on to anything and everything we can possibly grab on to in an effort to reestablish some degree of normalcy which will lead to the next and even larger change pouncing upon is without our having realized that things were changing until they had already changed. This is the nature of things.
