Let Me start by clarifying, ONE WEEK, that phrase most often refers back to DANIEL where AN ANGEL declares 70 weeks have been determined for YOUR PEOPLE (JEWS), and at the time of the angelic visitation to Daniel He was contemplating an earlier prophecy given through JEREMIAH. The angel explains that the weeks are symbolic of YEARS, we know that at the time of Christ ISRAEL was in the MIDST OF THE 69TH WEEK OF YEARS, LEAVING ONE FINAL CYCLE A 7 YEAR PERIOD to yet fulfill the prophecy of Daniel. the argument with those who study scripture involves, when does or did, the 70th week of years (Daniel) begin / begins. I hold to what is known as a PARTIAL PRETERIST view, meaning that I believe that the 70th week has been PARTIALLY FULFILLED. but a remainder of it is yet to come to pass...The pause in the 70th week of Daniel occurred, at the death of CHRIST....as stated in Daniels prophecy "MESSIAH WILL BE CUT OFF AND HAVE NOTHING..." i AGREE that it is likely that sacrifices would have continued after Jesus death and following ...up to the time that Titus destroyed the temple, but, the sacrifices would be rendered invalid and sacrilege, in light of JESUS DEATH AND RESURRECTION, (propitiation) for all men then and future.\ as part of the OLIVET DISCOURSE (MATTHEW 24, LUKE 21. So I have been thinking lately about where we go at the resurrection / rapture.or for that matter when we die. .....many theory's exist... I have begun to think possibly inter-dimensional...a different plane of reality hidden at this time from our senses unless the beings (angels / demons) choose to be seen. Hello , The PRE WRATH position got its start in the early 1990's by a Man named Marvin Rosenthal who was influenced by his friend Robert Van Kampen, a wealthy businessman from Chicago...Marvin wrote a book called "THE PREWRATH RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH" and Robert Van Kampen wrote his compendium on the subject called "THE SIGN" and started a ministry called "THE SIGN MINISTRIES" . Over the next few years more books would be published, and the position began to take a foothold and now is one of the top held beliefs. Its difference from what is typically known as mid trib, is that the rapture will occur at some unspecified time after the rise of the a/c which occurs at the mid point. I was fortunate to be an associate of Van Kampen and spent many hours under his personal teaching, I also knew Marvin Rosenthal, Charles Cooper, and others who were instrumental in the rise in popularity of the prewrath position.... I have since drifted slightly away from the classic position as they taught it, but still hold to the basic concepts...WE WILL FACE THE A/C if we are alive at that time...which appears to be closing in quickly. What happened to the (at this point) recently constructed 3rd temple? "IF" a 3rd temple is integral to the a/c's schemes why are we not told of its destruction? unanswerable questions, i understand...but together they should cause us to examine what is being said. throughout scripture, we get glimpses of GOD's Throne room Isaiah, Daniel, Revelation, Etc.....but where is this if (and HE IS) GOD is omnipresent? [Daniel 12:11] 11 "From the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, [there will be] 1,290 days. Before I delve into the sacrifice here, lets talk about timing....1290 days....or little over 3.5 years. clearly seen as occurring during the 70th week. is it first half or second half? [Mathew 24:15-16] 15 "Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16 then those who are in Judea MUST FLEE TO THE MOUNTAINS How Long (or quickly) can one flee? 30 days perhaps? TEMPLE......TO BE OR NOT TO BE....THAT IS MY QUESTION!!!!! The debate is vast among believers on the subject of a 3rd temple in Jerusalem. For the record, I DO NOT BELIEVE THERE WILL BE ONE.....nor do I believe any such structure for the purpose of sacrifice I.E TABERNACLE will be constructed.... Many if Not most believers are watching for this so called construct to be built basing their end times readiness on that event......However, DOES THE BIBLE ACTUALLY SAY THERE WILL BE A TEMPLE? [Rev 11:1-2 ] 1 Then there was given me a measuring rod like a staff; and someone said, "Get up and measure the TEMPLE OF GOD AND THE ALTER, and those who worship in it. 2 "Leave out the court which is outside the temple and do not measure it, for it has been given to the nations; and they will tread under foot the holy city for forty-two months. One of the clearest passages indicating a temple, and to be certain, one that seems to indicate a third temples existence. during the 70th week. the structure described in the above passage, is a brick & mortar building...ruling out the TENT (tabernacle) theory so what explanation can there be? I believe that it is an illustration for John's benefit as He is writing the book of Revelation. However, if we look closely, some clear problems begin to unfold in this passage........TEMPLE OF GOD......IF THE JEWS ARE SUCCESSFUL in Building this Temple, to be used for ANIMAL SACRIFICE, can it be legitimately called TEMPLE OF GOD? when in fact it would be sacrilege for animal sacrifice to be instituted once again. the benefit would primarily exist to be a home base for the anti christ, not BELIEVERS OR JEWS.... yet in the passage above it seems to indicate a viable TEMPLE with the purpose of GODS dwelling place....so what is JOHN seeing? I believe He is simply seeing the Temple as it existed in HIS DAY...NOT a FUTURE rebuilt structure. I'll Admit I don't have all the answers...but I do know there will BE NO RIGHTEOUS PURPOSE for a third temple.... Thus far are the words of Jeremiah. Contextual reading of these passages are clearly referencing the ancient city and its glory...conquered by the Medes & Persians after the fall of Belshazzar. so clearly the ancient physical city has been permanently laid to waste... never to rise as a world power or local.... That being the case there are clear and prominent end times passages referencing Babylon the Great..... A general study of the religious atmosphere of Babylon shows from the VERY BEGINNING pride, self worth/ worship bent on establishing a HUMAN WORLD DOMINANCE, eliminating the IDEA of a single supreme being.....though there was worship of gods in a polytheistic manner, most of those gods, were self serving and created and worshiped for the things that could be given to men.... As I have read through the responses in my former post...I see many people struggling with The eschatological identity....but remember Paul calls it mystery Babylon.....the resemblance that we can ascribe to America, as well as other countries and entities...is due to the fact THAT THE PROMINENT PHILOSOPHY OF THE DAY WILL BE SELF SUFFICIENCY.....Psalms 2 , THIS WILL BE A WORLDWIDE VIEW not centered in any physical country or location.....
