  1. Moses and Aaron were the focal point for the message and the eventual deliverance of the Israelites. Exodus is the precedent for the end time as it shows God judging the greatest power of the time, leaving the Israelites safe while Egypt is brought to her knees.
  2. Is 5 describes the state of the end time church. Its about the church, as in the days before the fall of Jerusalem, fell away and were deluded into thinking they could rebel against Babylon. One thing to point out is that due to the religious reforms under king Josiah, the last great Passover was celebrated in 621 BCE, only a few years before the end. You had two groups of people being addressed by Jeremiah, the few remaining faithful believers vs the apostacized masses. Jesus would later refer to the wheat and the tares. This is the situation that is referred to.
  3. I remember learning that the Word and Spirit are one. Also, if you wage war according to the word, God will provide scriptural results as you are led by the Spirit.
  4. They are described as not being defiled by women. The sons of Eli despised the offerings and slept with the women that kept watch over the sanctuary. They were priests. Priests officiate the sacrifices, teach the word and deal with lepers. The law describes believers as priests and rulers.
  5. The falling away first appears in the fall of Jerusalem where Josiah institutes religious culminating in the last Passover only to be followed by the arrival of a king that re-introduced pagan worship and ended up being deluded into rebelling against Babylon. You have two different groups of people being addressed, the few remaining faithful, and those falling away. Jesus would later describe the wheat and the tares being separated by angels in the end time.
  6. Revelation talks about 3.5 years, a gradual unfolding of the end that culminates in a 5 month invasion, the day of the Lord, and 7 months of cleansing the land by those identifying and burying the dead. The day and year of God's vengeance.
  7. You have Dt 30 and Zechariah 12 describing the return of Israel in the end time, and how they have been protected until now. At some point that protection will be removed bringing in the last invasion described in Zechariah 14.
  8. Paul describes an actual church service in which there is a psalm, doctrine, tongue, revelation and an interpretation. It then states that it is to let all things be done unto edifying. At the time there was no NT, it was all based on the OT and the gospels. A psalm as a devotional, a doctrine to explain OT truths for the church to follow, tongues as a sign to unbelievers, revelations on past, present and future, and interpretations on tongues, dreams and visions. As a former Pentecostal, I saw lots of tongues, but very little of what Paul describes. I wonder if you might have something to add to the topic.
  9. There are three different references in Isaiah to the day of the Lord; Isa 34:8 For it is the day of the LORD'S vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion. Isa 61:2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; Isa 63:4 For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. There are three references to the day of vengeance. There is a reference to a year of recompences, the acceptable year of the Lord, and the year of my redeemed. I'm curious about what else is out there.
  10. Daniel describes a civil war, two sides fighting for the same territory. Its about the sons of light vs the sons of darkness. Revelation describes how believers can be lukewarm, also describing a civil war, those that refuse to commit. These are spewed out of God's mouth. Jesus talks about sons against fathers, daughters against mothers. Josephus uses the same exact phrase to describe families divided over which side to back during the revolt against Rome. Lawlessness is part of the end time scenario, it describes how believers won't have anyone to turn to during the tribulation as society will turn against them.
  11. In WWII troops where trained in the use of gas masks which was part of their gear, yet with no apparent threat to be found once they deployed overseas, the masks were discarded by the million. In Vietnam, the first Battalion to receive M-16's had problems with their weapons jamming while under fire with many being killed. The problem was caused by using ball ammunition which overpowered the design. Eventually new weapons were developed which included a forward-assist that helped to un-jam the weapons while being used. During Basic Training, recruits are instructed in the many topics that help them to function in a military environment as individuals. They are told to make use of their training and their training is put to the test. A soldier or a believer has to believe in his/her training and gear which will help them to fight and live to fight another day. It is demoralizing for a soldier to not be able to trust his/her equipment. Paul makes use of what he observed while waiting for trial, he could see that every item in a Roman soldier was important and that it was very important for believers to know that they could trust the equipment that God has given them. You then have God telling you that the weapons he has given you are guaranteed to work in all situations that come your way.
  12. Isa 48:20 Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The LORD hath redeemed his servant Jacob. Babylon is fallen 1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. 2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. 3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.1 People commanded to depart out of her 4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. You have among the different events described in Revelation a moment where people are told to flee Babylon. Here in Isaiah 48 you have the verse on which it is based. At the time of its writing Babylon did not exist as an empire, Isaiah was aware of this, yet God took him well into the future where it would become important to know. Also, you can see that the original context adds another dimension to the statement. Its not just about leaving Babylon, you have a reason for it to happen. Tied into it is a mass exodus of Israelites being brought back from captivity as can be seen in Dt 30 and Am 9. A door shall be opened sometime in the future permitting the return of Israel, adding to the fulfillment of the end time scenario.
  13. I had a vision at 19. It was an aerial view looking down upon a platform surrounded by dark clouds. I was before the platform and I saw the figure of a man sitting on his throne upon the platform. I could not see his face because of an intense light emanating from his face. I then saw orbs floating around me all within arm's reach. The Spirit told me that these were blessings and curses. 1. The Bible talks of God dwelling in the dark. 2. The seeing of a figure of a man is contained in prophecy. 3. Moses was not to see God's face or die. 4. The Bible states that we have both the privilege and responsibility of choosing to serve God. 5. When we choose God, we have the backing of the Holy Spirit.
  14. Many years ago I was in a prayer meeting when the Spirit began to move. I was standing next to the Pastor and many began to speak in tongues. This was different, my tongues sounded Oriental in nature and The Spirit told me that the tongues were directed toward the Pastor. The rest of the service was uneventful and we went home for the night. After getting home I was driven to write on how to conquer the town's many communities, starting out with one service, getting people saved and setting up congregations everywhere we went. The next time we had a church service I showed the Pastor the paper, he took one look at it and said that it was what God had showed him the other night. Long story short, 18 months later we had come full circle with new congregations in every major neighborhood which later became the nucleus of a new denomination.
