  1. To Mr M: You are a man passionate in faith. You thirst for more and He will give you the desire of your heart. This is all for the good.
  2. It's ok to take time to rest in the Spirit. Didn't Jesus go to the desert sanctuary to pray, reflect, and spend peaceful respite with the Lord? He just may have a meaningful revelation coming your way.
  3. It should not be a political issue; but, it is because the White House circumvented the immigration laws allowing migrants to come in unlawfully. That act alone has put an undue burden on the economy. Welfare funds have been taken out of Social Security and FEMA leaving the funds lacking for the citizens who earned them. I saw the interview with Alejandro Mayorkas when he announced that FEMA's disaster funds had been taken and used to house, feed, give medical aid to migrants. Congress will have to approve more aid; but, where is it going to come from? The cupboard is bare.
  4. If only one was disobedient, the punishment would be for that sinner. But, the lesson would be shown for all to see.
  5. No more hurricanes or natural disasters please. There are a lot of helps around here. I remember 2 or 3 years ago we went through a big hurricane and were out of power for days. There was a kind man who after cleaning up his own yard started cleaning debris from his neighbor's yard without saying a word to anyone. This neighbor had worked 3 days straight as an on duty cop to protect people's homes from looters. He didn't even get to come home to tend to his own home and property. Other neighbors saw this act of kindness and joined in cleaning each others yards. It was contagious, going from home to home and continuing down the street. By the time the cop came home, his yard was clean with limbs and debris stacked on the curb for waste management to pick up. And, that's the way of caring, generous souls.
  6. There's bad news on the horizon. Mayorkas just announced that FEMA spent $2 billion on migrants and doesn't have the funds for more natural disasters. Not only that but FEMA only has enough money now to help with "some" of the basic needs after hurricane Helene. We really need a change of guard in Washington. Our country cannot survive under the present neglect and abuse.
  7. Franklin Graham is asking for volunteers for Samaritan's Purse in the devastated states. They already have teams in place; but, need more help. And such is the situation with many first responder groups. We are getting older and not able to do a lot of the physical work needed. So, we have decided to make a charitable donation to an organization that supplies ready meals and clean up kits. And, praying of course.
  8. Hi Deb, I checked on FEMA and other first responder groups to see what is being done and what is needed after hurricane Helene. There are thousands of people in the field helping from 16 states and the federal government. Donations are coming in the form of food and household goods, clean up and building supplies, and money. Rep Mills may not realize the enormity and generosity of agencies and individuals that are working very hard to give a hand up. FEMA has several divisions that are involved and they also help coordinate many of the independent groups.
  9. FEMA works a lot for the uninsured during disasters. In the aftermath of Katrina they set up camper trailers in Louisiana as mini medical units. And, they made camper trailers available for the homeless. I saw Mayorkas making a televised statement yesterday regarding helps. As widespread as this disaster is, it will take years of cleanup and rebuilding.
  10. Sigh.... This issue is above my pay scale. I trust the Lord and hand it up to Him. Let God and let go.
  11. I have a severe issue with this election Jayne. And, I'm sad because of the attack on our foundation.
  12. No automation? I'd like to see them lift those sea land crates by hand.
  13. Ron DeSantis is my governor, too. I hope he will be US president in my lifetime. He is a Christian with good morals. He served in the military and worked in DC as a lawyer in the legal system. Just a good example and leader. He's loyal to the people he works for which is we the people.
  14. One of my careers was catastrophic claims adjuster. I learned very quickly that there is no perfect protected place to live. Disasters include natural and manmade events. The most important take from life changing events is how to survive. That starts with not remaining a victim, looking up and looking forward no matter what your circumstances.
  15. I am tempted to name names of "heavy weights" who offend me because of their becoming more focused on self than our Lord. But, it serves no purpose and goes against what God is doing with them. I can pray for their relationship and purpose in the Lord's plan. I am not accountable for them. And I have my own accountability and relationship with God. Let God and let go. Amen.
  16. Are you asking about physical death? If so, it's different for each person. Wouldn't it be nice if we just went to sleep and woke up in paradise? But, it's not always that easy. I'm sure there are many who have had near death experiences who could testify to that.
  17. Isn't this one of the lessons to be learned from Paul especially in Galatians? Come to the Lord in faith and humility. Look to the Lord and not to man. Some power leaders lose their humility and allow themselves to become puffed up. We are to be servants of the Lord putting others first and ourselves last.
  18. Thank you for posting this. She is such a beautiful inspiration.
  19. Not all precincts are subject to voter fraud. A local precinct chairman was interviewed on one of the tv news stations. She said that their precinct is very strictly run. But, she has had threats against herself and her workers. She personally walks each employee out to their vehicles at end of day. And, she has reported all incidences to local authorities.
  20. Makes one wonder if she is hiding something or just doesn't have a clue.
  21. Mr M, I so appreciate your discernment and sharing. Blessings to you, ITC
  22. One cannot underestimate the influences of Satan in matters of evil and wickedness. It is both spiritual and man's freewill choices being influenced. The best way to defeat the enemy is through prayer that he turns to the Lord. We see in the case of Legion that the swine were drowned and the man was freed. But, do we know what happened to the man after that? Did he repent? Was he allowed back into the fold or forever banished outside of the city walls. That example is a very different circumstance from when we are told to forgive 70 x 7 when someone says they are sorry. Are we given the power to give grace or do we hand it up to the Lord for his judgement or mercy?
  23. War Room is way up on my list. Chronicles of Narnia and Limelight (w/Charlie Chaplin). My favorite actresses are Greer Garson and Jean Simmons. I'm a 40s buff. Actors: Paul Muni and Gregory Peck.
  24. It takes a really special person to be a teacher. One has to wear so many hats and always be "on" and that's all day long. The responsibility and pressure is tremendous.
  25. I can pity a person; but, I don't necessarily have to empathize with him/her depending on the situation. There is a name for the disorder of when a victim defends or falls in love with the abuser/perpetrator. It's called the Stockholm Syndrome. Granted there are times when a crime or trespass is just more than victims can handle. That's when the victim needs to hand it up to the Lord.
