  1. But it is huge, light comes from all over it's surface and the angles of light coming from the different angles is what makes the difference. Notice that the light coming from the sides of the Sun come in angles that go around the moon so to speak. If the sun was a single point of like it would look like this. and you would be right about the shadow being larger than the object making the shadow.
  2. No, unlike the sun, is not coming from a single point of light.
  3. I don't get those results from the light in my ceiling. It comes from a larger surface
  4. The flashlight is an almost single point of light source, unlike the sun, which is so large that the light comes from different point sources across it's face. I don't have the time to draw it out tonight, but the difference you are seeing is from the source light not being huge and giving off light in all directions..
  5. How far is the plane away from you?
  6. To make an umbra, the entire surface of the sun must be blocked out. Maybe if the airplane was ten feet overhead, it might be considered one. I don't see how one could have an umbra without blocking out the whole sun. It does make a difference that the plane isn't 200,000 miles away.
  7. Jacob, just speaking for myself here, but the shading on your text makes it very difficult for me to read. I don't have a clue why, but it does. If you are copy/pasting this from another program or site, when you paste that little black box that asks if you want to just post the text will make it go away.. It would be helpful to me if you could.
  8. I don't think an airplane is large enough to cast an Umbra. It never blocks all the sun's light.
  9. One of the documented plans to take over Russia states that they would move missions of Chinese citizens across the border to take up living there. Keep doing so until they had enough to take over without a huge fight. My guess the CCP is taking them to Mexico to just that here.
  10. Keep in mind that Adam and Eve understood they shouldn't be naked and covered themselves before God even saw them. Everyone has that inner voice that understands right from wrong. I am hoping that the Lord considers how people respond to that little voice come judgement day.
  11. Sheol (Hebrew) and Hades (Greek) both refer to the grave. Two other words that are often translated Hell are Gehenna, and Tartarus. Gennah being the fiery place that sinners go in the end, and Tartarus is the place where the fallen angels are locked up waiting for judgement times. The grave is for the bodies, but it seems our spirit goes to one of two parts of the grave. Good guys to Abraham and the bad guys to temporary torment. This comes from one scripture in Luke, as far as I know. The first covenant did not deal with the spiritual side of things. The promises that were made were to give the Israelites the land he promised Abraham and his dependents. As long as they followed God's law they could live long happy lives in the land. I personally don't see eternal life promised to the Old Testament people. What happens to them come judgement day. I would surmise the same thing that happens to people who live their lives and never hear of Jesus or that he came or did here. It puts them into the hands of a loving and just God. What he does with them is not my business as far as I know, and it's way over my pay grade to give him any advice.
  12. The thing is that none of the media people ever talk about us. I'm also seeing a lot of us don't talk about us.
  13. My world is not all negative. I would be miserable if all I looked for was negativity.
  14. Well, maybe it's just as well, for it is April Fools' Day. I have thought and thought, and I don't recollect ever finding anything that was noteworthy. But then again at 77 sometimes I can't remember what I did last week.
  15. Transgender Day of Visibility Day has been on March 31st since 2009. It is just happenstance that it coincides with Easter this year. He has made this proclamation every year he's been president. What makes you think he's smart enough to realize the conflict. So is he evil or just plain stupid?
  16. We'll see how this next election goes and if it is anywhere a fair election we will see where the country goes and what it deserves. I would say, though, Jesus was looking for just a few righteous people in Sodom and Gomorrah, and we have that many in our church. So I can't see us deserving the treatment of S & G.
  17. I believe that Romans chapter ten is the most detailed in what we must do to be saved. When one trusts or has such faith in Jesus, we willingly follow him as he is our Lord. Which means we if he is our Lord, we must follow what he says to do, which naturally produces good works just in the way we live our lives. But do the good works actually save a person. No, if that were possible, then Jesus died in vain. But let us remember that good works do not save a person, but a saved person will, by his/her nature, do good works. My own conjecture would question a person's salvation if they do not have any good works at all, though.
  18. I think the problem is not that Israel will not accept a Palestine State, but the Palestinians will not accept a Jewish state.
  19. Most of the people that I physically interface with were just upset because the president issued the proclamation about it. It was there, whether he commented on it or not. At least those who even knew about it at all. I would say that most were not even aware of either what the president did or even that the special day existed. There are special days for every day of the year, according to what I see on the internet. Like, today is national Sourdough Bread day. Special days have become so trivial who keeps up with them, and who cares. A national trans day is about as trivial to most people as sourdough bread. But it seems the world is about fussing about something, especially politically. So, what do I fuss about.... It's the rabbits and eggs, for that comes from Ishtar. She's the goddess of love and sex and fertility. Oddly enough, not the goddess of motherhood. She required her followers to sometime in their lives to go to her temple and have sex with a total stranger. That's called being a temple prostitute. And if a baby results, it's no big deal, as you can sacrifice it to Moloch on its first birthday. Our Christian holidays were perverted hundreds of years ago, mostly after Constantine. And no, my family did not do the rabbit and egg thing when our kids were growing up, and I still don't at church. Which aggravates me to no end thinking about it.
  20. President Biden is not our leader. He is the head of only one third of our government. The true power behind our government is the Constitution. Everyone should keep that in mind. And in several ways our president is not following the constitution, which makes him less of a person to follow.
