Do I Want "Free Porn" or to be "Porn Free?"
shaitiger replied to TreyM's topic in General Discussion
PORN FREE -
WOW, that is absolutely nuts. Lord have mercy on all of us.

God's focus is on prospering us spiritually. I don't have an issue with Christians prospering monetarily but they are the ones that have to be extra careful. The Bible doesn't mention a lot of nice things about the rich within the context of money. Paul constantly talks about no longer living in the flesh but rather in the spirit. People, even Christians, can find themselves being easily dominated by earthly materials. The key is to stay grounded through the word of God and by faith so that you don't give Satan an opportunity to veer your focus.

I am a firm believer of predestination and election. I don't think people have that much of a problem with God's omniscience or omnipresence, what people have a problem with is His omnipotence. While God knows everything and is everywhere at once, He is also all powerful and in control of all things(Col. 1:15-17). Lets set the premise: 1. God can do whatever He wants because He's God(Romans 9:16 & 18) 2. We deserve eternal damnation due to sin(Romans 3:23) 3. Grace = God giving us what we don't deserve which is salvation(Ephesians 2:8) 4. Mercy = God not giving us what we deserve which is eternal damnation(Ephesians 2:4-5) 5. God is a God of purpose when He chooses. The purpose is to demonstrate His power and to be Himself glory(Romans 9:22-23) 6. If God chooses whom to save and whom not to save, why does He still find fault? The answer is who are we to even question His intentions and plan? (Romans 9:19-21) 7. We as finite human beings aren't omnipresent, omniscience, and omnipotent, have no idea who will be saved or not. God has indeed instilled in everyone of us a purpose in our lives which is to glorify Him and demonstrate His power. God will fulfill His purposes in our lives, either as children of God(vessels of mercy) or as vessels of wrath. 8. Because we aren't God, His purpose in believers is to conform us into the image of Christ and spread the gospel so that we can in turn live the life He has purposed for us.

We have will, but not free will. If we have free will then God isn't sovereign. For those who believe in free will, why is it they pray to God for their friends/loved ones to be saved? By doing so they are asking God to override that person's will so that they will receive Him. God's sovereignty is all over the Bible. For the meat and potatoes, read Romans 8. About your question, both humans and animals have will. What makes us different than the animals is that we have a spirit.

Long sigs . One of my pet peeves are people that take things that aren't yours. There's this guy at work who literally walks by a person's desk and take's food or gum without asking.

Even though I don't listen to the Beatles or the Rolling Stones, if their music is blatantly or silently dishonoring God then it shouldn't be listened to. We have to choose our secular music wisely.

A link to all those names would have have suffice . Thanks for sharing though .

Yes, the question is no longer did Jesus exist (due to the abundance of proof that proves that he did). The question today is where did the body go. If you study the historical background of the Jews along with other evidences, you'll find that the resurrection of our Lord actually happened. This is a great thread though because not too many people are able to give a defense in this regard. If someone is sincerely asking this question, he or she is not interested in hearing anything else but physical evidences. Telling someone how Christ changed your life isnt going to push the conversation in the direction it needs to go. We need to study this because there are more and more folks out there who are in question and only want specific answers. God BLess

Good conversation going on here. I know it is a very difficult task to help the homeless in this day in age because of the label they have receved over the years. You can assess the danger using the intelligence God gave you. If it seems too dangerous and you aren't the type to be putting yourself in those types of situations, then I would refrain from doing so. If it's safe then all I can say is that if the spirit puts it on your heart to share the gospel or give them something to eat, I'd say give it a try. God Bless..

As a believer in God forgiving me for all my past, current and future sins, I never ask for forgiveness. What I do though is confess my sin. These are not one in the same. Do I have a problem with folks asking for forgiveness...no. We all act redundantly with certian things in life.

Is forgiveness the heart of Christianity?
shaitiger replied to arunangelo's topic in General Discussion
My opinion is that the heart of Christianity is God's love for us (which is why it's the heart ). God only forgave us because us he first loved us. We love him because he first loved us. Forgiveness is just an aspect of love. Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 8:28 - And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:35 - Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Roman 8:37 - But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. Romans 13:8 - Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. 1 Corinthians 13:13 - But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 16:4 - Let all that you do be done in love. 2 Corinthians 5:14 - For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; Galatians 2:20 - I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Galatians 5:6 - For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love. Galatians 5:13 - For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. Ephesians 1:4 - just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him In love Ephesian 2:4-5 - But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ by grace you have been saved), There are bunch of other verses but these are great. God Bless!!! -
Good stuff. I'm really impressed by 2thePoint. God Bless!! Most of the time skeptics are arguing with themselves rather than with us.

Great thread indeed. Thanks for sharing that. People are jumping on my board in attempt to prove Christianity wrong and this information helps us as believers to not fall in traps set by these skeptics. God Bless!!!
