  1. Amen, Hallelujia, I'm glad at least one person on this board gets it. It's all about Jesus, not a day of the week. Who even "keeps" Sunday? What is that about? Hebrews 4 Romans 14
  2. . No, It is open because it was intended to be a permanent state. Are you suggesting that Adam and Eve did some secular activity Sunday through Friday that they would need to abstain from on Sabbath? Think things through for yourself. The Sabbath was MADE for MAN not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the MAN was here first. There goes your theory that it was always here. And Moses called all Israel, and said to them: "Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your hearing today, that you may learn them and be careful to observe them. 2The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb. 3The LORD did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, those who are here today, all of us who are alive. 4The LORD talked with you face to face on the mountain from the midst of the fire. 5I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to declare to you the word of the LORD; for you were afraid because of the fire, and you did not go up the mountain. He said: 6"I am the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 7"You shall have no other gods before Me. 8"You shall not make for yourself a carved image..................... Were you alive that day? I wasn't.
  3. Can you tell me why, in the account of creation, each day ends in "And the evening and the morning were the 1st, 2nd, 3rd.......etc day EXCEPT the Seventh?
  4. But the real point is that we are supposed to be living as Christ, daily, a lifestyle, not a day of the week. IMO, the SDA church worships the Sabbath, it is far more prominate than Jesus in their lives.
  5. Smalcald, Since you seem fairminded, I will share with you what I know. I was raised SDA, so this is a huge issue to me. You can read my testimony (link in my signature) if you want the long version, but the short version is that Jesus fulfilled the entire law. Before the cross, the Holy Spirit did not dwell in man, now we live by the Spirit, not the letter. The purpose of the Sabbath was to point back to a perfect state of Rest that was there in the beginning. God rested and the end of His work was the Sabbath, not a day, a permanent state. Sin ruined it, man was separated from God, Israel was commanded to remember it and Jesus brought it back! Now we rest in Him! He is our Sabbath Rest, in Jesus we are restored back to perfection, to communication with God, direct access to Him. Please study Hebrews 4, it explains it well........Today is the Sabbath for those that believe. I could type for days that is definately the very brief explanation, please let me know if you have questions. Sabra
  6. No one will persuade the "Sabbath keepers" that they are in error. Just remember if fail in any point of the law you are guilty of breaking it all, so you may want to stay in your tent, assuming you have a tent on the Sabbath, since that was the law, oh, and don't cook, only eat manna, and it needs to be day old manna. An entirely different perspective for you to consider.........Muslims keep Friday. Wonder what they will think of your Sunday Laws? The SDA doctrine is so antiquated, not relative to current events. Think for yourself and stop letting them brainwash you. Blessings!
  7. I believe the disappearance of Moses was symbolic. Moses represents the law, Elijah represents the prophets. Both disappeared because it pointed to Jesus coming to fulfill the law and the prophets, which Satan did not want to happen. Hey, both reappeared at the mount of transfiguration for a short time before Jesus appeared and they disappeared again. Matthew 26, I think, check it out.
  8. Kittylover, This one is easy. God deals with each person individually. We have different backgrounds of education, baggage, ability to understand (some of us are dumb, some are smart) God has a purpose for each persons life and He wants us to fulfill that purpose. I think He is much less interested in our doctrine than we are. Paul says let each be fully convinced in his own mind, the Lord will make him able to stand. Rom 14
  9. You can e-mail me tonight and I'll get back to you tomorrow, after that I'm going on a trip for a week. sabrams06@aol.com
  10. Girl, I'm a FORMER SDA, and I say RUN! They are a cult. You can find all you need to know on www.truthorfables.com Blessings, Sabra
  11. Dolphin, You don't have to take that self-righteous junk from the posters. You can acknowledge that you are hurt, betrayed and it is your right to feel that way. I totally understand and have been there several times. My ex is a big jerk. I can say I would rather someone come clean than someone else tell me about it. The fact that he did tell you shows that he had a conscience about it. I guess you have to weigh how he has treated you the 14 years. Jesus says death and infidelity are the 2 acceptable reasons for divorce, so even He knew it was a huge thing to accept. It's not fair and I feel for you honey. Blessings and prayers, Sabra
  12. That sums up the entire thread.
  13. Well, if the Mahdi is the AC, they would be right, because the Bible says he can't come until the restrainer is taken out of the way and many believe that is us.
  14. What if you wanted to attend another denomination? Say, you moved and there wasn't a RCC close by...could you go to the Baptist church and become a member there with no problem?
  15. Wow! I didn't expect 19 pages over the weekend! Don't have time to read them all but I hope it is staying relatively civil. I'll try to get back later. Sabra
  16. Absolutely we are. I wish we'd go back about 100 years, life would be so much simplier.
  17. Hey Fiosh, I works side by side with a Catholic, so this should be fun. We are great friends but as far as religion and politics go, we have almost nothing in common. My most obvious question for you would be: "Why do you continue with what seem to be OT laws, i.e.: priests, ceremonial stuff, and do you all pray directly to God or always go through the Priest."? Sabra
  18. Seems to me the reactions of the Muslims prove the Pope's point and God's; that they will be like wild donkeys fighting their brothers forever.
  19. Not exactly the second to leave. Our church, Abba's House, Pastor Ron Phillips left about 2 years ago. He is too gracious to say exactly why, but did mention "storing up riches"

    APOSTASY

    Oh my.................................
  21. OK, this has really been bothering me lately, the entire focus of everyone is sex! ........so is there anything we can do about it? Who do we complain to? Can we start a petition?
  22. blah blah blah, go debate the rapture somewhere else, re-read the beginning of my thread...I don't want to argue the event, just wondering what those that believe in it think about who's going.
  23. and you are doing great with that aim! LT--you totally lost me, what is it you are trying to say? I think it is important to notice that only Enoch and Elijah were ever taken up into heaven. That shows me that it's not for everyone. Noah was obviously following God but he didn't get taken....Abraham?
