  1. Figured I'd check in w/my fav Christian forum. Merry Christmas.
  2. Wow, I never thought of banned names before, but it makes sense.
  3. Thanks for clarifying what poor in spirit means (understanding you're a sinner). That's pretty helpful.
  4. Don't know if I can do that pillow/vertical sleep, but the shower is worth a shot on the weekend when I visit my family (I usually just do them in the morning). Thanks.
  5. Thanks for all the info & prayer. Wow, that sounds rough. I hope things get better for you! I take a daily vitamin & will look into a sinus flush. Been using saline spray whenever it blocks up (almost every night). Sometimes can't get back to sleep if I wake up at 4AM w/too much pain or nasal passage is blocked. But I try to get to bed by 10PM at the latest. I don't have a doctor or medical insurance (I have dental), but hope to visit an oral surgeon or someone who can deal with palate pain someday.
  6. Didn't read every post in the topic, but do want to be more active on this forum... Some Christians don't value friendship. Some do. A true Christian will because they're following Christ's teachings. Same with churches. Take care.
  7. Thanks everyone. Still have nasal pain, but less intense than Monday. Hoping it will continue to fade. Ankle was fine after a few days. Maybe God will help with the chronic stuff someday (even giving info on what to do). Been trying myself & praying, but nothing so far. Oh well, I can patient for however long. Not my timing, but His.
  8. Hate to do another of these, but it's been quite a while & I've had a pretty bad day. Thought about posting in the topic going about bad days. The upper nasal pain just started today after blowing my nose too roughly (hope the septum isn't deviated). No bleeding, just constant pain that mingles with the chronic nerve pain of the the roof of the mouth (4 years). I'm hoping it will just feel better soon. Got some nasty acne going on, so my face looks & feels pretty bad. Accidentally stepped on some broken sidewalk today, messing up my ankle. None of these are life-threatening, but so many physical things at once is really pushing my patience. Thanks for reading. I should post around the forum in other sections more I guess.
  9. Live a life that reflects our following Christ and being a good example to believers & nonbelievers alike. I think.
  10. I used to debate them a bit online some years ago, but have lost all contact with them, so no.
  11. Hadn't been to a dentist in years, but I decided to get Delta Care insurance again (so complicated to get it!) & go recently. Funny thing is I wasn't even trying to find a Christian one specifically. I just tried to find one I could reach by public transit near the train station that uses healthy, natural methods (no mercury in fillings, etc.) Healing Hands in Concord. I learned it was a Christian business when I was leaving the exam area & saw over the door the words "To God be the glory". Actually... noticed an instrumental worship song in the waiting area as well, but wasn't sure. First time I've interacted with a Christian business, especially medical (I think). Goal is to try to end the 4 years or chronic nerve pain in the palate by going to an oral surgeon they suggested. But it's not covered by insurance & is in a city I can't get to. So I'm not sure if I can do it. Anyways, I should visit & post here more often. Been on this forum a long time now. God bless. Thanks for reading.
  12. Hey, hope you're all doing well & are focused on Christ. Been in chronic pain for 6 years (past 4 years has been roof of mouth nerves). I guess it affects sleep, specifically waking up early. Woke up today at 3:45 AM & couldn't get back to sleep. What's new is this week for the first time (I'm 42), I've been waking up every day with back pain so intense I can't sit up for a while. Oh, and the old blocked nasal passage which affects breathing & the ability to get back to sleep. So it's a triple threat of sorts to try to overcome. But yeah, it could be a lot worse, so I'm thankful to God that things are not even worse yet. There's even a possibility or things improving, Lor willing.
  13. Lots of great scripture! And... that puts me at 667 posts.
  14. When was the last time I created a topic? Did a forum search & didn't see this, so I figured to share. Anyone see this? As a (usually unpaid) artist/animator, I was curious & finally watched it with the kids I help nanny where I live/work. (Still that unusual situation) Interesting to find a film dealing with the flood, but some things are a bit off. I'd say, but don't want to spoil the movie's ending. Shall I link to the movie somewhere or leave it to people who are curious to search it? For now, I'll just post the topic.
  15. I used to go to church quite often most of my life til I moved in with my business partner/boss/now father of two small kids. Since then, I left weekends to get some personal space by going to my family's place, sometimes going to church there. Last year, I went to church maybe a few times, and for Easter & Christmas. Really hope to go more often again. Will attend on Sun. & work from there. Prayers to those who hope to go more often too.
  16. Haven't been to church since Easter, but I've wanted to go more often. Usually attend more often, but the living situation has me leaving town every weekend, except this one. Almost went, but I was too sick today (awful timing). Really want to go to a Christmas eve service & attend more next year.
  17. Pray as often as the Spirit compels you to. Fasting depends on the individual. My low body weight makes fasting dangerous. Tried it once & it ended in disaster.
  18. I guess it will vary according to the individual. I'm in an unusual work/live situation where I nanny, do dishwashing, and work on indie video games. I can't check in with my boss/housemate as much as I used to because him being busy with the kids & business calls. So while I'm in my room I tend to read up on fighting game message boards. GameFAQs, Skullheart & Dustloop. Wish I had more to say here. Seems like everyone else has said it. Guess I can read stuff here more often, though. My faith is more important than video game discussion. Guess I'm so used to routine through repetition. Sometimes I do fanart to post on game forums. I do try to be a rare Christian at these online niches, though. Maybe company changes are on the way.
  19. Thanks, yeah the tooth is fine. It's nerve pain in the roof of the mouth, so it might be something that's untreatable. Hopefully the company gets funding one of these years so I can get a panaromic X-Ray or something. Been researching for years, but am avoiding going into debt. Prayers are so far not resulting in change, so God's plan may involve timing I don't understand yet.
  20. How do I react when any woman flirts with me? Pinch myself and wake up. It was a dream. Last date was over seven years ago(?) Maybe... Seriously, if a married woman flirted, I'd have to treat her like a kid & explain that doing that is a no-no.
  21. OK, except for chronic pain & finances. Thanks for asking. Hope you're doing well. If I did have the finances, I guess I'd try acupuncture first (almost did it).
  22. My daughter broke her wisdom tooth - badly. She has to see an oral surgeon to have it removed. She was in a lot of pain. She has no money for an oral surgeon. We don't have the funds to pay for one right now either and she has no dental insurance. So she puts tea tree oil all around the tooth and the gums, all the way down on all sides a couple times a day to help guard against infection and deal with the pain. She takes colloidal silver a couple times a day to help guard against infection. She now has no pain, no signs of infection. She is trying to put off the surgery until we have the funds to pay at least the down payment. My mother used tea tree oil the same way to avoid another root canal on a tooth that was obviously infected after a previous root canal - the pain was very bad. 3 days later she no longer needed one. Tea tree oil penetrates deep into the tissues to fight infection. But it tastes awful. If you try this don't swallow it. Study up on Tea Tree oil and Colloidal Silver, and also how to heal your teeth naturally. You will be amazed at what you find. Glad you found pain relief. Prayers sent for surgery situation.
  23. Hey, thanks for the replies. 2011, wow. I haven't had a dentist or insurance in years. The pain moved from the tooth to the palette, and has been chronic, but not intense, ever since. If I ever get money from work I'd try acupuncture to try to deal with the nerve. Or surgery to kill the nerve that's sending pain for years for no reason. Affects sleep a bit, but I've adapted best I can. Main thing is being thankful to God for His blessings and praying for others. And player for an end to the pain one of these days or years.
