What makes it boring for me is when the speaker is doing the speaking himself without the lead of the Holy Spirit. Only He knows what He wants to say!!!

Sounds like rituals to me. I believe that we as His church and as His personal child can sit and have a moment to remember Him all by ourselves. I have done this and I always sense His presence each time. Does not say in His Word anywhere we must do this corperately or any certain way but in rememberance of Him. That I do, I do it in rememberance of Him and at times I even use just plain water and a sodium cracker, oh my! We can get so religious on stuff and tooooo ritualistic. We must be careful and just follow the lead of the Holy Spirit.

For nine years before my husband passed I stood on and prayed Acts 17:31 And they said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house . My husband did accept Jesus a week before he died and I am assured to see him when I go home!!!! This is a promise and I believe in the promises written in the Word!!

Not necessary, but can show the enemy how serious you are to die to self and be reborn to the Lord. I call it burying the old man!! I did it when I felt that the enemy was getting too strong in my life and I showed him that God is in control. But it is not critical to your salvation!

This vision took place on 1/19 which is 9/11 backwards. Hmmmm. Hey Sue, boy the Lord sure shows you some goodies. I sence though in my spirit that we are definetly close to some major shaking in our midst. I'm not sure though if it is in the physical realm or in the spiritual realm? I do know that scripture must be fulfilled and there is going to be a shaking. For one thing they were not married, and obviously this is a very big crime which went against their law. They were not to cross ethnics. Plus the biggest thing to lay with each other not married, unheard of to do such a thing, in those days this meant the woman is no longer desireable for marriage.

I can't believe sometimes the lengths the devil goes. But tonight on the discovery channel they are going to present their new findings of documents that say Jesus was a angry adolescent and had an affair and also, hold on to your chair, WAS NEVER CRUCIFIED. Now I do not know about you but even a non-believer may have a hard time with this one. Take notice that that other movie about the code died!! The devil is really trying hard to cause doubt, but we need to pray that this program falls on deaf ears!! Amen?

I have to say that I am offended at the first moment I see a person who is dressed as a goth or are all tattooed up and peirced, but then in my heart these people need to be reached in whatever the Lord leads a person to do it, I am obviously not the one chosen for the job. I do though need to stop and realize that God loves all of us regardless of how we dress or peirce ourselves. It is the heart He wants to reach and if it need to be with someone who is among their own God seems to know the heart that is involved!! I read the above post where one of you were wanting to enter a different lifstyle and was drawn to a christian, well that is wonderful God used this person for you, God is using Baker for His purposes for others that live that lifstyle. We are not to jugde God are we? I think God knows what He is doing!!!

Here is my take on all that is being said here. When we come to the Lord the Lord changes us and the convictions of our lives begin!! To start throwing stones before they even get a step out the door or to start telling ANYONE how they need to change anything is absolutely GOD"S business not ours. If God wants them out of whatever they are in the desire to leave whatever they are in will come. Yes Hollywood is a dark place but the light of Jesus needs to shine there too. Please remember brothers and sisters we are to be light EVERYWHERE we go. Jesus sat and ate with sinners and was persecuted for it. We are also to sit with sinners and sup with them. Amen?

The other day I was being introduced to someone who apparently is interested in get to know me and I asked how much was told to them and he said "very little". Well I told him I was a devout christian. He asked me what was the difference in a devout christian and a christian. I said a devout christian is one who walks the walk and a christian is one who talks the talk! Needless to say if he is questioning what a christian is I know he is not the one for me!! We should just be an example of Christ Himself!!! People should know who we are and want what we have, Amen?

ethical atheist, Noone can tell you about the Holy Spirit because it is not something the unbeliever is able to grasp. Im not insulting your ability to comprehend. Im simply informing you that the Holy Spirit is only something that comes through revelation...The Holy Spirit is the very essence of who God is...You cant know God unless he reveals himself to you...He does this through his Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is promised to those who repent of their sins and are baptised in the name of Jesus. (Acts 2:38) The only way God can impart himself into all believers is by his Spirit, otherwise he would be in one person only.... Listen to what the scriptures say.... The spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the mans spirit within him...? In the same way, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world, but the spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom, but in words taught by the spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. (Now listen to this bit) The man without the spirit does not accept the things that come from the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him and he cannot understand them because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Corinthians 2:10-15) You as a man are trying to understand the things of the spirit of God even though you do not have the spirit of God. Because God has not imparted the very essence of who he is into "you" you cannot know him. Though you may try, you cannot know him unless he imparts himself into you....That is why it is written... "Repent and be baptized for the remission of your sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38) God cannot dwell in a place that is filled with sin. That is why a man must repent and acknowledge the cleansing power of what Jesus did on the cross. God is Holy...and it is written that the kingdom of God is "righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." (Romans 14:17) You see, you as a man have thoughts ea. And no one except you knows those thoughts....Therefore if you do not share those thoughts with anyone, then no one can truly know you..Sure people can think they know you, but how well do they really know you...They do not have your thoughts and they are not you...Just as you do not know their thoughts and you are not them. When God imparts his very spirit into the life of the Believer, the believer is able to know God. In that sense ea, you are capable of having a closer relationship with God than you are with your own mother and father. You dont even know your own mother or fathers thoughts...But God through his spirit witnesses to your spirit the truth of who he is. You can know Gods thoughts. This is not simply a hearing of Gods voice so to speak as it is a prompting or an inner voice or impression upon your spirt. The prompting or inner voice never says anything contrary to the word of God..This is how you discern between truth and lie. That is also why you hear so many people speaking of hearing voices in their heads....Jesus said, "my sheep will know my voice, and the voice of a stranger he will not follow." You cannot follow Jesus as the good shepherd if you dont know his voice.....If you dont have the Holy Spirit, you cannot know the voice of Jesus. It is the Holy Spirit who reminds us of everything Jesus said. Read the gospels...Jesus said, "I must go so the comforter can come..He the spirit will remind you of all I have told you." Jesus was one man who walked the earth, who could only be in one place at the one time...God indwells believers by his spirit. That way the body is the temple of God..He dwells "in" his people now and not in temples made by human hands. Though there are many believers, there is one spirit. The spirit of God. The same spirit is alive in all true believers.....Listen.. However it is written, "no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him", but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The spirit of God never witnesses anything to a mans spirit that is contrary to Gods Word..That is why Gods Word is the doctrine the believer lives by so as not to deviate from that truth. I began this post by saying that you cannot understand ea even if you wanted to....Yet I still tried in some way to explain it to you a little...I dont expect you to grasp what any of it means, but I thought Id post it anyhow...You may say that you can grasp the gist of it....But without the spirit of God you can only only comprehend according to your own mind which is without the spirit of God. The Spirit of God is heart revelation, not head revelation. It is because you cannot comprehend these things that you fail to understand how God can be the father the son and the holy spirit all in one. If you know one, you know all...Because they all witness the very same spiritual truth. You can have communion right at home in the presence of your Father and with Jesus Himself. No where in the bible says you have to have communion with anybody or just corporately.

LoJ, In the KJV the entire phrase Are you unmarried do not seek for a wife is left out. Or put in, depending on your view point. So the REAL question is, which translation is closest to the original? Maybe in another thread, we could explore these verses with the proper Hermeneutics, using Strong's Concordance or some such Bible help. In His Grip, Strong's Loosed 3089 luo- loo-o; to "loosen" break(up) destroy, dissolve (un-) loose, melt, put off. verse 27 in the King James says; Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife. In verse 25 Paul is not making a commandment, he is simply trying to help prevent trouble which he states in verse 28. All he is saying in all these scriptures is to stay as you are for the time of the Lord draws near. He did not want any to miss the coming of the Lord due to needless burden in their lives.

They felt that it was so close for the second coming Paul was trying to get them to not make a lot of changes in their lives for the world was not going to be as it was much longer, we now are living in the end times as they were. We have been since Jesus went to the cross. Jesus wants us to honor marriage as sacred not just go out and get a divorce whenever we want to. I do believe that there are times it is needed as in hostile marriages and ones where there is infidelity. But there is a limit on divorcing.

FA You just hit it for me. Amazing how God will answer through someone elses question!! Jacqueline, I too seem to be very tired all the time and of course the enemy has been trying to tell me that something serious is wrong with me physically. I have been totally against this due to the fact I know where all my sicknesses and diseases are, ON THE CROSS!! Amen? I continually talk with God and have been also trying to make sense of it all. Sometimes we want to know too much or what we do not need to know just keep pressing forward and know we are in His hands.
