  1. What a great idea! Got a couple of people to go with you? That would make it even better.
  2. Item "d" is definitely a battlefield.
  3. Yes, the enemy always wants to pervert the things of God. Act 2:17 "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:" Everything the Lord does has a purpose. Hopefully, those who give dream interpretations will be lead by the Holy Spirit - as in all things we do - so the dreamer will have the dream's revelation confirmed.
  4. He's attracted to you - not girlfriend/boyfriend type. He sees the light in you.
  5. Dearjudy, this must be very upsetting to you. Because of the internet, I think people are just beginning to see the problem of this type of sin in the church. It lets us know once again that whereever there is a weak place in our lives, that's primarily where the enemy will try to work his way in.
  6. haven't read any of the other posts - OP - no anointing that goes for everything we do
  7. TV program that showed a church that takes up a "special" offering to pay off a family's debts. Everyone that wants to be considered puts their name "in the hat." The pastor believes that the church should "owe no man." He doesn't put his name in the hat though. The money is paid to the creditors by the church so the money isn't given to the family. The families agree to financial counseling and submit credit reports every few months to assure that they are not going back into debt. The congregational members stay about the same. Your thoughts?
  8. Here are a couple of verses and there are a lot more - 1Jo 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. 1Jo 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Being sinless - Should be the aim of Christians knowing that we won't attain it but not using it as an excuse to sin.
  9. This is a question I've been asking myself for a while - I would like to think I would do anything BUT I know of a few cases where the rubber hits the road - 1. Older couple believed the Lord told them to sell their home, told them who to give most of the money to, brought a small place, studied, prayed, and for years waited for their next step. 2. During a church service, before the minister started to speak, the Lord told him to sing a particular love song in a guy's ear. He did not want to. #1 - Years later, though there were periods of time when they wondered if they had heard wrong, the Lord released them into their ministries. They both look back and say that this period of time was necessary and that they did what they heard the Lord tell them. #2 - The unsaved husband had teased his wife before church and told her that he would get saved if the visiting minister would sing their favorite love song in his ear. He did. Daily when the promptings come, do I pay attention to the small, quiet voice; the pauses? Sometimes it's just to do a small thing. If I can't be faithful in the small things, there won't be the next step.
  10. Have you had a dream that you thought might be from the Lord? Pray and ask the Lord for the interpretation. Also, there are other Christian forums that have a section for you to post a dream. God still speaks today. Plus He still uses dreams just like this scripture says Joe 2:28 "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:"
  11. Yes, we support Israel. I believe we can watch Israel and know what the "signs of the times" are, also. Whatever the US does politically we need to support Israel.
  12. Was the Tabernacle of Moses utilized when the Tabernacle of David was established? Thanks.
  13. A word of knowledge is given about a past or present situation (the person who is being spoken to will recognize it as truth). It is not learned previously by the person speaking. A word of wisdom is about the future and often accompanies a word of knowledge. When this occurs, it doesn't come from the speaker as something they've learned, etc. It is how God sees this person in the future and the person can accept it or not. ALSO, it will be CONFIRMED by 2-3 other sources. When someone gives a word of knowledge and a word of wisdom, it does not mean they hold the office of prophet but they are speaking prophetically. It is information that the God has given them about someone to help them. Often problems come when the person speaking tries to interpret what the Lord has given them. Therefore, a very important question when a word of knowledge or a word of wisdom is received: Lord, what does this mean? If that information isn't provided, then it would be great if the person speaking would say to the person hearing - I don't know what the interpretation is but I'm seeing xyz or the Lord is saying xyz. Pray about it and see what revelation the Lord gives. Word of Knowledge such as II Kings 6:17. Word of Wisdom such as Matt 24 word of Knowledge and wisdom Luke 1:30-31
  14. Good for you! Also, thanks for the website.
  15. One statement that applies is that we have to have clean hands and a pure heart before going into the Holy of Holies. "Psa 24:3-5) "Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation."
  16. Sometimes people who are in abusive relationships don't realize that they are in a cycle of abuse. #1- abuse occurs (usually it gets worse as time passes). #2- the abuser is very sorry, promises to never ever do again. There is hope. #3 - egg shell stage - the person being abused knows that it is going to happen again - it's pending - looming - just don't know when or why. Repeats 1-3, 1-3,
  17. Found this today -
  18. Do either one of you like to do Bible studies? One always leads to another.
  19. At the Master's feet, we ?
  20. To me praise seems to be more centered on ourselves while worship is a lot more focused on the Lord. I do think about how the tabernacle corresponds with the Lord's Prayer - first, entering the outer court with praise = Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name
  21. We say praise and worship the Lord. What's the difference?
  22. What an awesome experience you've had! That's great! Which way? The Lord gives us our interests, skills, talents, etc. so it will definitely be in those areas. As the other posters have said just keep growing in relationship with Him and the direction will become clearer and confirmed.
  23. Your question: leave family and go? Something I've thought about too. G_d wants us to be willing to do whatever He asks us to do even if we have to leave our extended family members. The Lord doesn't call a husband without calling the wife or vice versa. Calls on our lives will be confirmed by 2-3 witnesses also. If it's His plan, there will be provisions. But it sounds like you are referring more about the willingness to go more than implying you have a call on your life. Example: our church supports a ministry in Haiti and occasionally some congregational members go for a few days. I don't ever pray about going because I don't want to go there. But if God tells me to go then He'll give me the strength, desire, etc. to do it - not that it would be easy but I would have to do it. Your question: taking up the cross daily and denying self means... Read where a mother had committed suicide because her daughter was murdered. Though both deaths are certainly tragic, her mom had made her an idol. As you know, an idol can be anything that we hold more precious than the Lord. It can be as temporal as watching a tv program or being on a Christian forum or more permanent such as moving to another area of the country or world, if we're doing the opposite of what the Lord wants. Ex. I've watched tv for several hours to unwind when I could have spent some of that time reading the scriptures, praying, or meditating on the Lord to definitely be refreshed by Him. When we apply the scriptures such as "pray without ceasing," "take every thought captive," and praise Him no matter what else is going on, it really starts taking the focus off ourselves - taking up the cross daily and denying ourselves - putting aside our agendas, thoughts, etc. and submitting to what the Lord wants according to God's Word that corresponds with the leading of the Holy Spirit.
