  1. I didnt insult you, or anyone else-I said your statement was in error. If you took that as an insult, then Im sorry, but it wasn't it was a statement of fact. And we both can agree, that if all americans were christians and voted accordingly (or if even all christians were to vote accordingly) we wouldn't be in this mess at all, however, we don't live in a perfect world, that is life. The solution is not to limit who can and cannot vote-that is what the current administration wants, that is a step towards tyranny. So instead of calling people who vote a way you don't agree with unregenerate, maybe you should speak the truth to them in love.
  2. If God cannot hear All our prayers all the time, without them being "congested" then He is not allpowerful. If He is not allpowerful, then He is not God. Since that is not an option, and God is not only God but allpowerful, then there is no such thing as prayer congestion. He has the fastest fiber connection of all time.
  3. as long as they don't dishonor God in any way (such as foul language) I see no harm in using them. Theyre just part of our language and culture. And
  4. KJV, NASB, and the ESV. Ill sometimes compare others, but those are the ones I study out of.
  5. I disagree. Why would it be the pastors fault that their were cliques in his church?Their are probably cliques in every church.Alot of people do not recognize them as that.I am wondering if they have to do with insecurity. the pastor might know of the existence and not try to change them, or he might be one of the driving forces behind them. He might-but its definetly not Christlike to assume these things. After all you wouldn't want people making assumptions about you. Always best to get the full story first before speculating wildly.
  6. You copied the direct link and not the share link
  7. the problem with that statement leonard, is that it is wrong in so many ways. Who decides who is a unregenerate person? The minute, you or anyone else, starts making that call, thats tyranny, and puts us in the same boat were in now. So maybe, instead of insulting people and pushing tyranny, you should educate them in how to vote.
  8. In all honesty, in todays economy I see this backfiring in their face. I mean, whats to stop these stores from saying ok, your on strike? fine heres your pink slip. Theres plenty of jobless people out there who are more then willing to work for 7.25 an hour, and if the store decides to make it 8.25 an hour for a new hires (still less then the strikees are wanting) it will make the job seem that much more inviting.
  9. Just a thought. If someone comes to you and says that theyve never lied, are you going to believe them? of course not. because weve all lied. (me included) and weve all sinned. and that includes on our computers and phones. perhaps, it was just looking a second to long at that raunchy add, or snapping at someone on a online forum. Fact is, weve all sinned using our computers and cell phones. (including me) so food for thought.
  10. Bo, that was exactly what I was saying in reply to comments made by others.
  11. Bopeep I was addressing the pastor bashing earlier in the thread-comments were made be several people that if there's a clique in the church the pastor must be doing a lousy job etc.
  12. I think we need more nativity scenes in public squares its time to put God back in america people.
  13. @ ABC if the culture/rules don't allow it I'm OK with that to. What I'm saying is I have no moral objection to it in any country-if your country doesn't allow it I'm OK with that to. I'm OK with anyone not flying it either, as long as the church is biblically grounded its not a deal breaker for me either way.
  14. well, the dog does redistribute his food all over the yard.
  15. Ive got nothing wrong with the american flag in (or national flag for the nation the church is in) inside a church. Its showing honor to our country, and those who died protecting it. With that being said, the focus shouldn't be on the nation, but on God, but as long as the focus is on honoring God, first and foremost, showing a little respect for our country-whether we like it or not, is a good thing, even Biblical. As a side note, I have nothing wrong with christmas trees either, again, as long as the focus is on Jesus, theres nothing saying a christmas tree can't be used to honor God. The secret here, is to keep God first and foremost.
  16. I agree davis, but that wasn't the point of my post, perhaps I didn't make myself clear. If your in a church, and there is a clique (and the pastor is NOT a part of it) Im saying dont speak bad about the pastor because he doesn't storm in there and condemn them all to hell. You don't break up cliques, by doing that-you create a war, which destroys churches. He maybe doing stuff behind the scenes to help break the clique up, that your not even aware of. My point is, even those in a clique, need to be ministered to, they need to be shown that what theyre doing is wrong-and often, it takes time love and patience, to do it. What Im saying is, get the whole story, before judging a pastor because hes not working on your time table.
  17. actually they can bo, sometimes when there are 2 or 3 people who are shy in a church, they, like most people will congregate naturally with the others that are shy. and while they dont exclude others, the fact that since they are shy and don't reach out, they may come off as a clique. food for thought.
  18. before we all go talking trash about pastors, and why they haven't gotten a clique taken care of, let me throw some things into perspective. First off, cliques are human nature. I got news for you, when you hang with a group of people long enough, sooner or later, you become cliquesh. Not all cliques are the type to intentionally torment others-some form, just from being together for so long, they forget theres others out there, and people in these cliques don't even realize that theyre excluding others, its not intentional, its just because theyve been around each other so long and they don't realize it, and I think weve all been guilty of this at some point. Also, keep in mind, cliques are in most churches, some worse then others, and what do you expect the pastor to do-especially if its a new pastor. Those people in the cliques, they need ministered to to, so you cant just go bulldozing in and tell them to get over themselves-all that will do is make matters worse, sometimes it takes time, love, and patience to break up a clique. Just because a pastor can't break up a clique the instant you ask him to, doesn't mean hes a bad pastor-you cant just go in, and expect a person to change instantly, and requiring a pastor to do so is unreasonable and unfair to him, especially since he may have been working on that clique for years before you showed up, and you have no idea how much good hes done. Instead of going up in arms, because the pastor is unable to instantly break up a clique, why don't you assist him in showing the members of the clique the error of their ways-after all, it could just be a group of ladies whove been quilting for 30 years and don't even realize theyre being exclusive.
  19. I would agree with Jade, the Bibles very clear, except in the case of infedility, there is no cause for divorce and it is a sin.
  20. I tend to avoid them but there's a couple exceptions-there is a christian author by the name of Frank Peretti out there, who writes about demonic warfare from a christian perspective and they've made a couple movies from his books, my favorite is the visitation with Randy Travis. Another good one is house (which ted Dekker co wrote) and I wish they would make a movie from monster and the oath but I doubt they will.
  21. Im sure I have no idea what your talking about.
  22. right now, it has nothing to do with protecting christians, or whos right and wrong in syria. Its all political posturing, the US is doing something russia is against, so hes doing anything he can to make the US look bad.
  23. I will admit, I have an issue with nudity and sex scenes on movies. I absolutly refuse to watch a movie with an R rating for nudity or sexuality in theatres, depending on the movie I will at home but only because I have a fast forward button.
