  1. Yes! Yes! Suzanne all believers in Christ should know these are truths, if not in your own heart, at least in the Books of the Bible Amen!
  2. So true Patricia! You know, years ago I remember having a tough time through the Holidays when one of my older cousins who was working a a local "grain elevator" site was killed just outside of New Orleans, La. They spent weeks digging the bodies out. It was the worse Christmas in my life. Going to a funeral when we should be celebrating God's gifts. I remember Dad taking a group of my Scouting Friends to a local convelesence home to sing and entertain the elderly during that time. Somehow, that made the meaning of Christmas much more rewarding and barable to me.
  3. Sweetie, I'm so old we barely had "Sunday School" let alone songs during it? lolol
  4. I'm with you Light on this one. Also, I'm sure I recently read scripture (I believe it to be in Matthew) where God said, "And every man will know me." And I have to admit that there was nothing very direct,as many thoughts we find are not as clear as they could be, but I too was told by my spriit at a very young age that I would be instructed to follow Jesus and learn a great deal through people like you all and in the Bible. Well, 6 Bibles later, I'm beginning to trust those instincts within me when it comes to statements like this. Fact is, "God knows everyman's heart and soul. And HE certainly knows the goodnes in every man. I believe that when we follow Jesus and God's commands what we are strictly doing is NOT going against HIS commands and learning to love our fellow man, be he good or bad. Many Blessings Cajunboy
  5. Vickilynn, First off what are people's definitions of what good "works" are? I have read different ideas here, but I think that it needs to be defined as to what "works" are before we can determine if they are required. Hi Cardcaptor, I think God knows what "works" HE has in store for each of us. I know by now that because of my good Public Relations skills in and around my job and friends, and the patience God has blessed me with that I can work with young and old to carry God's message through even the world. God said in Matthew, "If a man believes in ME and accepts my commands, HE will automatically want to do my works." You know CC, I don't even think I have it in me NOT to want to do God's works or tasks. And I believe that everyone who is devoted to God and reveres HIM DOES automatically want to do HIS works. These "works" can be anything from reading to the elderly/ill, to visiting those in prison or hospitals, to merely witnessing to those who may want to know more about God. I don't know any Christian who would object to that. I don't think that being a Prophet is a task anyone or everyone can accept. But if you just listen for a while and meditate on HIS word and NAME, eventually you will begin to find you task/works from HIM. But never give up just because you haven't heard HIS voice within you yet. For some , it may take nearly all your life . For me, Iknew by the time I was 16 years old, WHOM I wanted to guide me in my life and what "works" I was asked to do. Blessings Cajunboy
  6. Ditto Light! But those type of abusive board really make you appreciate what the mods and brothers and sisters are trying to accomplish here, don't you think? And I would like to take a moment to thank you all for helping me grow even more and learn about the goodness and greatness of God and encouraging me to search for answers for myself. Things like beliefs I had about "The eternal fires of Hell." One Godly soul recently pointed out to us that "You actually cannot find the term "Eternal Flames in Hell" anywhere in the Bible. And so far to this day, I've not seen it. Many scripts come close to it but does not quite fit the imposed beliefs we acquired in our earlier days. And I have many other stories like the one above that have shocked my world into wanting to grow even closer to God, as if I thought then that it were possible. Thanks One Light, my brother in Christ Cajunboy
  7. Sorry brother? It does get over heated sometimes. I just resign to the fact that we are all at different stages and levels in Christ and hopefully and prayerfully we will all get to that great level where God wants us to be. Blessings Cajunboy
  8. Yes, my friend in Christ...He drank wine. We can find it in Matthew as I just ran across it when Jesus was being compared and confused with John the Baptist and God was saying that even John the Baptist did NOT drink wine , while Jesus DID partake of wine. But I'm also sure that as you might see in Europe, wine is the drink of choice there. You will find wine on many restaurante tables where you will have to ask for water if you desire it. And water is more expensive in countries like Italy than water itself as with water they hate to serve ice unless again, you request it. And you will pay! Blessings cajunboy
  9. Honestly Suzanne, I don't see it here in my environment and work place. I surround myself with other Christians or at least those with kind giving hearts (those who enjoy doing for others and put other before themselves) and avoid those who only think of themselves. Just yesterday, I confronted a friend at work who seems to get depressed at times; (he's gay) and aging. And I don't think he's altogether happy and satisfied with his life lately. So I began talking with him about another lifestyle. He already professes to be a Christian so I began from that point. After a while , I asked him if he'd ever considered being and living without a male partner. He noted that he'd thought about it especially now that he's getting along in life and is very comfortable by himself. I dare say that I wanted to remind him that if he decides to tackle this style that he might grow old alone, but I thought I'd wait for another opportunity to talk with him at a later time. For now, I gave him much material to hash over in his mind and he claims to have never really liked what he's done and he knows full well that it offends Our Lord God. Well ! That blew me away. I began to think , "If I dared to try to bring another soul to God , especially one with this past. It would definately be a challange for me and that made me all the more determined. All this to say, that I know I take many risks in a workplace that caters to Government employees, but hey! Wouldn't Jesus have done the same thing if HE were still roaming the earth, especially in a Sinful town like New Orleans? People were shocked by the ravishing Hurricane a few years ago, but I wouldn't even be surprised it God swept a Fire that would consume the entire city of sin, in particular the infamous Burbon Street. Sad I know, but I've seen my share of degradation and rot. And I would be for whatever God plans to get these mindless and sinful people's attention here. Sorry I rambled a bit but all that to say that we can always find something interesting and deep to talk about here if our hearts in it. But I do know what you're referring to when you speak of the U.S. as a nation and its communities. Blessings Cajunboy
  10. I have to agree with "Trusting Jesus" here and say that I personally believe that God is not "smiting" or purposely taking anyone away from this earth, and hasn't since the coming of the Christ Jesus Death for us. I don't doubt for a nano-second that God has the power to do just that, but I think whatever we're doing to lesson our lives here is strictly on us and because of our abuse and bad habits that may be directly affecting our lives. I believe that in that era of man's history, God chose to do it in hopes that man would come to his senses and learn to revere God. And when man only progressed in sin, God determined to use "God on earth" which was the only method man could comprehend and relate to in order to gains man's trust and faith in HIM! I also believe that God knew that if HE would have created "Perfect Man" that all too soon man would have placed himself above God, knowing that he (man) was perfect . God could not allow that because someone has to oversee HIS people and one way to do that is to have us all with some kind of infallibility or imperfection or flaw; hence SIN! This way God could give man "choice" and the ability to learn right from wrong and make his own decisions about where he wants to be and whom he wants to be with for his eternity. Just a thought! Blessings Cajun
  11. Blessings Wayne, 3rd person ? That would be kind of difficult to arrange since everyone, Theo inclusive is able to read all threads just as yourself. If I wanted to address Theo in person, I simply would have PM'd him and we could have discussed my view personally. That was not what I was trying to accomplish. My post was in support of another poster and reinforcing what she was trying to convey to "Theo." Also, Theo is quite capable of speaking for himself as well and I wish him all the best. I was merely conveying that he seems a bit stern and hard in some of his approaches. Of course we all have days like this at one time or another and I'm no different, but I do believe in coming together as a community when it's time to deliver a message that's may not be well received as it always shows evidence in numbers and may get someone's attention faster. As for the "Drummer Boy" song, that's exactly what we're all trying to convey here. It's just a precious thought from some young child of God who probably meant well and it troubles me when another child of God has trouble seeing that. Along with some of the other topics this young man has endeavored into. Thank you for your opinion, but I'm well aware of what I am doing here. In God Cajun
  12. Shalom Blien, No, I cannot agree that Jesus was speaking to Believers. I believe the verses plainly state that He was addressing those who DID NOT KNOW HIM (as in not born-again) and were using His name. No place does it say these people were born-again Believers. In fact, they cannot be, since Jesus said He NEVER knew them. If they had been His, He would know them. The point is, we cannot lose our salvation and we cannot have it taken from us as long as we abide in Him. That is a heart action, not a works action. From the heart that is abiding in Jesus, comes the desire to walk in His ways. Our actions come from our submitted hearts. True Vickilynn , your salvation is only gained by your belief, But God also tells us that, "When a man follows HIS command, he will be made to automatically want to do HIS will/works! I understand that one cannot "buy" or "work" his way into heaven or even God's good Graces. But God tells us that if we are living in HIS word, the works will automatically come...We can do nothing else but want to care for HIS Sheep, or clothe HIS poor, or feed HIS flock! All that takes WORK. Blessings Cajun
  13. Do you know what pagan worship REALLY is? it's not humanitarianism, it's really WORSHIPING false gods. The term pagan is not as narrow as you think. It's synonymous with "heathen," which is used of any non-Christian. I don't think the song reflects Christianity, and it leads one to think that the works of our own hands are acceptable to God. The acceptable sacrifice is described in Psalm 51:17, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. And I'm guessing that you also believe that you don't have to do any "works" to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. While I know it does state that exact phrase in God's Word, HE also says that when you are living In HIS grace you will automatically have the want to do HIS works. So , while to say you don't need to do works to enter the Kingdom of Heaven is true, It is also truth to know that you will want to do HIS works when you are truly saved. Both thoughts work well together. And how are we to know it the song that "The Little Drummer Boy" may not have had a "broken spirt" that brought him to the point of song to begin with? Is is at least possible? Theo hello brother.. Why don't you check your posts and see how many have to do with wanting to correct what you think is wrong with the world, christians, other peopleand now songs. I would like to see a encouraging word from you, a edifying word, a uplifting word, a good word of testimony from you life that may help others. Opinions are good, not fact and perhaps when you give one you can start by saying " it is my opinion". (I like a good argument but this is vain). It will perhaps sound better that angry or bullyish.. By the way thats one of my favorite songs...all of us come to Jesus with nothing and he readily accepts us... patricia1 Tell it like it is Sister in Christ. I've been sensing something "salty" about Theo as well for quite some time now even though I do find him interesting in a sense that he seems to try to find "another" or "a different take" on most matters. I only hope when he sees that most have a different opinion but resound to the Laws of the Word of God with their results and analysis, that Theo will come to terms with what he's dealing with in his life. I'm sure he's a man of God, like we can only hope that we are as well. And he's certainly entitled to his own approach to life as we all are. I just don't get a good sense of "Peace" and "Love" of fellowman when I hear the tones from his flexion as you would expect to hear from a "God Fearing/loving man. Blessings Patricia and good to hear from ya' Cajunboy
  14. Well Vicki, If you trust and know God's Word He says, "Anyone who believes in HIM will automatically want to do HIS will/works " when they become achieved believers. So YES! We know we are all saved for believing in God and HIS Word. But I would have to believe that according to HIS Word if I don't see "fruit" or "works" coming from a known believer, I would have to pull him/her over on the side and advise them that they are not showing the true Spirit of God. Wouldn't you think? Blessings Cajun
  15. Hi Christian, I now understand what you're trying to accomplish. To make us aware of how important it is to use scripture based versus to encourage non-believers. Problem is , many non-believers will turn away a the blink of an eye if they think you are trying to quote scripture/verse to them. I believe and use the theory to gain their respect/friendship in hopes that they will view how I live and walk in God's grace as an example of Christ, rather than throwing scripture at them, which usually turns them off. Then much later in our lives I will use scripture when they feel more comfortable with me and my intentions. This is what works in my life. Blessings Cajunboy
  16. Thanks Eric, I'll look out for it. I like most of the movies I've seen on Hallmark anyway!

  18. I believe that our Lord will make it very evident when HE puts us to and through a test! I know there have been a few tests in my life that I didn't get the first time, like my patience with a non-believer or hanging with a vulgar group just to be with the "In-crowd." But eventually God gets your attention and HE is persistant. HE will make it known whatever it is GOD is trying to show you or me. Do I worry about if I missed HIS message; NO! Because I know HE loves me and HE will persist until I hear HIM and realize that HE calling on me. For instance, every now and then I know God wills me to do for another person. Many times I will wait for a door to open or "fall on my head." But eventually I hear HIS voice distinctly and clearly. Just as God would be sitting next to me talking in my ear. Anyway, recently my daughter came to me and noted that when she went to visit her cousin, my neice, and noted that there house and property was in bad need of fixing-up and cleaning. I thought , I might be a good gesture to offer to go help pressure wash her and her daughter's house and cut down some bushes and do a few fix-it jobs around since her husband walked out on them for another lady. My neice has medical problems and can't do much for her self. She was elated and thrilled and I began this past weekend. It actually makes me feel good to do this type of work for others in need as in the elderly or situations as this. Thank you Lord God ! Praise your Holy Name! in God's Love Cajunboy

  22. Yes! And many times I feel it is the "secular" desire of the person's flesh that doesn't want to give up a particular "sin" they are presently involved in or being tempted by.
