    Grace

In a nutshell, it is God's favor. His grace is available to all who will accept it. His grace in us will be appreciated, thus we will live our lives for Him in gratitude.
  2. Great post Wisdom. You should post that in the rooms that are talking about submissive women just to keep us guys in check. In my daily studies, I have been in 1 John. Your post was a great supplement to those studies on Christian love.
  3. Just a bit I guess, One Accord. My intent was to encourage thought on a subject that the liberal media dare not expose as fact. It sure hasn't been exposed up here. One conscientious Canadian actually did print the truth in a letter to the editor in today's local paper. At least when I lived in the United States, I gratefully voted for a man that doesn't cave in to warped polls. Of the people, by the people, and for the people. As George Bush said on Monday night, "May God continue to bless America."
  4. George Bush is more a man than I am because through all this opposition by France against humanity, I would have questioned their dealings with Saddam. Yes, France has a substantial oil deal with Saddam Hussein. That deal is null and void once Saddam is ousted. It makes you wonder if France has been supporting Iraq in other ways. I guess we may find out pretty soon. It won't be a good thing for Prime Minister Chirac when that truth is exposed. I guess that's why today they are saying there's a possibility of helping the United States in the war if chemical weapons are used. He must want to make sure his guys find his illegal trades before England or the U.S.
  5. As beautiful as the setting will be, it will be more beautiful to spend eternity worshipping my Creator. That sweetness will taste even better since sin won't even have the opportunity to abide there.
  6. Here in New Brunswick, Canada, there is a threat against the Gospel being spread to a larger audience. Please check out the site www.radiochristian.com and click on the issue of discussion about the CRTC(I believe). After reading the related material, I urge you to send them an email in support of the application. Whether you agree with Christian contemporary music or not is not the issue here as you'll see upon reading the information. Thank you for taking the time to read this and, hopefully, sharing it with your friends.
  7. Isn't it amazing that when you speak the truth, then people label you as homophobic, narrow minded, bigoted, etc.... yet it's perfectly alright for these same people to belittle Christianity. Keep on spreading the truth in love, brother.
  8. There once was a girl at Columbine high school that had to face that very reality.
  9. Well, your official title may not be pastor, but it is evident that your sensitivity to God's leading is very visible on these boards. Amen to the lesson, brother.
  10. I just don't want to get up there and have to say well Jesus, I was scared to witness to my friends because I thought they might -gasp- laugh at me.
  11. I see how it's creeping in rapidly. Until last fall, I lived in North Carolina. I went to hockey, football, baseball, and basketball games and even at the pro ones there was a prayer said before the game. I move up to Canada, and they don't pray unless it's before a church league game. Also, I remember going to hockey games in Charlotte where they played both the U.S. national anthem and the Canadian anthem. Up here, they only play the Canadian one, and half of that is in French. We better enjoy our freedom while we have it, because the persecution we are guaranteed in the Bible is moving to the west.

    Rapture

Well, I have done some studying of the end times. Granted, not 24/7, but I find more Scriptural evidence pointing towards a pre trib rapture than any other. If you take the endtimes prophecy in context, then I don't see any way that pre trib belief is blown out of the water.
  13. I guess the problem lay in the fact that a lot of churches in their desires to be seeker friendly forgot their mission of being soul seekers. I like what is taught in the Contagious Christian. They said it is important to let people know about hell. I also heard a preacher say once that if he thought he could scare somebody into Heaven, he would do it nonstop. Anything to get them there. Sadly, a lot of pastors tend to neglect the "scary" subjects.
  14. In those days, men will call evil good and good evil. Let's keep our focus on God, brothers and sisters. Of course the idea of burning a protestor's poster is mighty tempting.
  15. BHG, I was referring to spiritual gifts. Talents are something that anybody can have. Only Christians can have spiritual gifts. Every Christian has at least one spiritual gift. There are more than 9 spiritual gifts. This thread isn't a discussion of beliefs on spiritual gifts. This thread was started with the full intention of building up the body of believers and spreading the hope of Christ. Quite frankly, it takes less than three lines to say one of my gifts is x, and I have used it in such and such a way for the glory of God.
  16. I am curious to know if you've discovered your spiritual gifts, and if so, how are you using them to glorify God. This thread is not open to bashing someone's belief or promoting your own. Please respect this. I just would like to see how us Christians in here are functioning as the body of Christ. One of my gifts is probably helping. I usually use this gift in behind the scenes ways and also in volunteering with youth.
  17. I remember when the Left Behind movie first came out on video. There were churches planning on showing that movie to their congregations, and the makers of the movie said that it was illegal because they didn't have the permit to show the movie to a large audience. Not that there was any Gospel message exactly spelled out in that movie, but I don't think Jenkins and LaHaye would have minded one bit if the whole world watched it for free.
  18. Again, thanks for the thought provoking wisdom, brother. Are you a pastor, or just a well learned layman?
  19. On the one hand, you're stealing, on the other, the Gospel is being spread. Personally, I see nothing wrong with taping a cd for personal use. I am against breaking copyright laws however. Usually Christian magazines, music, etc.. will allow you to make x number of copies per original. We must be careful how we live, but as you say, don't get caught up in legalism. I could be wrong in my beliefs, and I pray that if so, I will be shown so I can change.
  20. Hopefully, the goal is the same---to glorify God. We still need to keep our swords(Bibles) close at hand though. Even Hitler was sincere in his beliefs concerning deity. May we all seek God's guiding hand in our lives, so we won't get in the wrong line.

    Rapture

    HMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Wisdom, thanks again for another wonderful post. In regards to false teaching, I have a question that I think I have found a Biblical answer to in one respect, but I would appreciate other points of view. Is it possible to be a Christian and, for whatever reason, still be a false teacher? I believe it is possible, but I would appreciate any input.
  23. I would have to disagree that the Bible is ineffective in proving or disproving a mystery. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 doesn't allow for if there is a difference of opinion. True, there are some things you have to accept in faith, but there is much more in the Word that can be proven or disproven. There cannot be the Trinity and not the Trinity, and the Word of God would not lead to confusion. There may be hard parts to understand of the Scripture, but there is a way to understand exactly what God intended to say in every verse.
