Well, fortunately there are alternatives to Lowe's: It's more than twice the distance from me, but at least they don't cave to pressure from the party of tolerance hate. Just imagine if conservatives stopped supporting all advertisers on CNN et al. How ridiculous.

Society is going downhill shockingly fast...
Qun Mang replied to KeilanS's topic in General Discussion
I remember reading a Star Trek book (go figure... ) once that had this very same idea- putting separation as the norm. Every couple of years both had to sign a marriage contract- if one didn't it was over. Of course, reality tops fiction. I'm sure many of you know that under Sharia law (I think?) all a husband has to do to divorce his wife is to say "I divorce you" three times. Well, as if this isn't bad enough, in an area with very strict following of the law, a husband said "I divorce you" three times in his sleep and was overheard. He was held to it even though he didn't want to divorce his wife. -
US woman seeks sex change tax write-off
Qun Mang replied to buckthesystem's topic in Weird and Wacky News
I just hope he (yes, he, not she- outward appearance doesn't change who he is) loses this one. Such mutilation of one's body should never be covered by government dollars, or even used as a tax break. He clearly never considered Jesus is the way. John 14:6. -
WN: Hindu Prayer to Be Offered in Senate - CBN News
Qun Mang replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
And all paths lead to the same place. Relativism... This quote is as damaging as anything the Hindu said in his prayer. Yes, it was a Mormon who said this, but too many people incorrectly equate Mormons with Christians. Hopefully the real Christians in the senate just patiently awaited the end of this prayer to nothing instead of joining in, or better yet, said their own prayers to the only true God in Heaven. -
WN: Lesbian Couple Wants Access to Religious Property for Civil Union
Qun Mang replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
They are just looking for media attention, money, or both. There is no other reason for them to seek out a place for their civil so-called union that they were reasonably certain would be denied. The article is also correct in that where state law violates the US constitution, the state law must be struck down, though this of course does not mean that the campground was in violation of this law. -
Who knows why they told this time- concern? honesty? It looks like they won't be telling any more though. It really is a tough call though. It's pretty much a guarantee the park owners (along with the family of course) would be sued for a hefty sum if they allowed the boy access knowing about his HIV, then against all odds someone was infected as a result. I do agree we must be compassionate, and indeed we are commanded to do so. I just wish I knew what choice I would have made in the owners' place. It seems they weren't denying access completely, but until the family provided a doctor's note, hence removing liability.

Live Earth is promoting green to save the planet

Give or take 1.9 billion or so? I certainly don't want them counting me in that "estimation"... -
I could have sworn at one time senior members could delete their own topics. In any event, you can close the topic if you wish. The option to do that is on the left side, toward the bottom underneath the "who is viewing this topic" area. It says "Moderation" (it's only there if you have moderation privileges, which all senior members and above have for topics they started). Click on it and you can choose to close the topic.

Most Canadians would fail citizenship test
Qun Mang replied to buckthesystem's topic in Weird and Wacky News
Well, yes. I was making a little light of it, but we really should retain more about our own citizenships. I say retain, because we do learn about in our schooling, and at least here in the US we take an exam on it to get into high school. The truth is, what we don't use we don't retain, which is part of the reason a game show like Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader can be a successful quiz show. Have immigrants take the tests 10-20 years after being granted citizenship and it is guaranteed their test grades will be lower than the first time they took it too, maybe even a fail. Incidentally, I came across this thread after reading another thread here on whether we could pass a citizenship test similar to those given to immigrants. (TOPIC) -
Drunk takes a free bike ride on car roof
Qun Mang replied to buckthesystem's topic in Weird and Wacky News
Carrying an ID is a de-facto standard. Though hardly required, there are things that can't be done without it, as mentioned above. However, it appears to be a legal requirement there, else the police couldn't have charged him with not carrying one. That would be the troublesome aspect. I read it as he gave them a false name, not handed them a false ID. -
Most Canadians would fail citizenship test
Qun Mang replied to buckthesystem's topic in Weird and Wacky News
Not surprising; most polls of Americans say the majority of us would fail a citizenship test also. I think I would fail Canada's citizen test also. -
I've been debating to myself whether or not to support this movie. On the one hand, I am intrigued by the subject matter, as I am not too happy with our medical care system myself. On the other hand, it's a Michael Moore movie...

Could You Pass the U.S. Citizenship Test?
Qun Mang replied to The Lorax's topic in General Discussion
90% here. I missed the one on amendments and voting, and the INS form. Of course, the average US citizen would never be expected to know the latter. If I was applying for citizenship I would though. -
In Sweden, not the U.S., but still, playing the system is playing the system...

Barker Says O'Donnell Could Replace Him
Qun Mang replied to Marnie's topic in Most Interesting News Developments
Unfortunately she does want to do it: Here's hoping Ted is right. Personally, I can't see the show continuing at all without Bob. As the only host for 35 years, he is the show. -

Hey, no fair! Your topic is getting more responses than mine! -
About time someone did something about this... As a sometimes middle school teacher I see a bit too much of them this.

Made into a poster and printed.

Is this true? I hope not. If so, then Paris is right- it is unfair. Her sentence should not be extended (or possibility of parole taken away if that's the case) for the mistake of the sheriff. my mistake... sorry.... it was originally 45 days, which she would have only served 23 days assuming she had good behaviour. Well, hopefully she still has the chance and her resistance in going back won't be counted against her. After all, she wouldn't have even been in the courtroom to have that outburst if it hadn't been for the sheriff releasing her to house arrest.

New requirement for signup: scan and upload your driver's license photo for all to see! Nah. As for me, I'll stick with the one I have now, though next time I'm in a show I will have to replace this one...

You may have corrupted the CMOS somehow. Is there a jumper to clear the settings? If not you may have to remove the battery (or battery contact) and replace it. The only other thing I can think of is you may have zapped something with static electricity when you inserted the cable. In that case, the only thing you may be able to do is replace the motherboard. As lpt suggested, you should try to contact the manufacturer if possible for further suggestions.

What does G-d have to do with it? Unless the Almighty is on the bench these days. AK is correct. I'm afraid I don't know what you are getting at. I know AK is right. What I am saying is just that eharmony suggested that they might add same sex matches in the future. Whether serious or just a deception to try to avoid being sued, it was not right for a Christian to say this. And our Father may punish him for it by letting these people drag his company through a long, expensive court battle. Or not, it is just a possibility. That is all I'm saying.
