  1. It's not even been 4 whole months since the man took over. lol People and their right here right now we want immediate change Took Bush 8 yr. to screw us up to the point we are in today I don't think it's to much to ask more than 4 months to turn it around. And Obama even stated before he was elected that it wasn't something that was going to be accomplished within just 1 term in office.

    Heaven?

When Christ comes back he will set up his kingdom on the Physical earth and it will be transformed back to the way it was before evil destroyed it.
  3. The bible doesn't state that we have to tithe on a weekly basis for some it's easier to do it on a monthly or one big contribution at the end of the year. So perhaps you can do something along those lines where you keep track of what you usually tithe when you have a regular job with money coming in and when you get another job just make up the difference at that time. As for the freelance job not paying minimum wage money is money my friend. I'd rather make $4 or $5 an hour than $0 an hour ya know? And like others have said who knows what doors it might open for you down the road. Maybe it's a test from God to see just how serious you are about wanting work.
  4. $819 billion is not almost $900 billion that's a huge amount of money difference.
  5. ..."fire and brimstone coming down from the sky, rivers and seas boiling, forty years of darkness, earthquakes, volcanoes, the dead rising from the grave, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together...mass hysteria!" 25."Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26.Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27.And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? 28.And why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, 29.yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. 30.But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you?you of little faith? 31.Therefore do not worry, saying, "What will we eat?' or "What will we drink?' or "What will we wear?' 32.For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33.But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34."So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today's trouble is enough for today." AMEN !!!! :emot-hug: :emot-hug:
  6. He did say that. Matthew 24 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Aahhh....But, those who were caught unaware were those who were not chosen by GOD to be saved and were not the ones given the warning and the signs. We have warning signs. HUMMMM??? That is a good point though. Matthew 24: 36-44 " No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. " The signs are for us to recognize that the time is growing near no where in the bible does it state that one of these signs will mark the exact day or hour of his return.
  7. My bet is it turns out to be just another ordinary day like with Y2K and all the other thousands of days that the end was supposed to come. I'm almost willing to bet that on Dec. 12, 1912 ( 12-12-12 )some fruitcake declared the world would end. The bible clearly states that the day and hour is known to nobody but God himself not even Jesus his own son will know until God tells him go get your children and bring them home. So it's futile to try and guess when it will happen. Instead the bible tells us this... " Be joyful always;pray continually;give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not put out the Spirit's fire;do not treat prophecies with contempt. Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil. May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. " In other words don't concern yourselves with trying to be the one to figure out the day and hour but concern yourselves with living your lives for god in the best way possible and when that day and hour does come there will be nothing worry about because you won't be here to see it. There have been natural events like eclipses, aligning of planets, ect... since the creation of the universe so there is no reason to think that the next time it happens or any specific time that it happens will be the time when it all goes down.
  8. Interesting My crazy christian self in some way wants to believe that it's the opening of Heaven's Gates in preparation of the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. lol
  9. Just curious For a little background info " The Ramp " is kinda like a retreat type deal for teenagers and young adults based out of Hamilton, Alabama. God TV airs it every now and then and this weekend happens to be one of those times. The show airs for 3 hr. Usually from what I can tell 1 hr. of worship followed by 1 hr. of actual teaching followed by another 1 hr. of Worship to close out the event. I have a pretty good idea what the response will be but I just wanted to ask and see.
  10. "they" say the last time this blew was about 700,000 years ago. Can you find anyone who lived to tell what happened? No but scientists have put together models of what the continents used to look like that far back and as far as I know they never reported huge chunks suddenly dissapearing.
  11. I believe they've determined that this particular Volcanoe has gone off at least twice before so why wouldn't it have left the whole western U.S. as one big hole the past 2 times ?? I think people tend to over dramatize events like these to be honest. Will it be bad?? Yeah most earthquake and natural disasters are Will the whole western half of the U.S. fall in the ocean and cease to exist?? Probably Not
  12. * Note To Any Potential Evacuees Thinking Of Heading To Georgia* Please be advised we are still over booked from Katrina there is no room at the inn please proceed to SC or NC. Thanks you this has been a public service announcement...... Beep !!!
  13. I'll be honest a few retail bankruptcies might not be such a bad thing I'd rather that happen and it make the ones left that much stronger than have them all going to congress for their share of the bailout money. But things won't turn around until retailers figure out that the way things have worked for the last 15-20 yr. just isn't going to cut it anymore and they are going to need to reinvent themselves if you will. I'm sorry but people just aren't willing to pay $50-$60 for one shirt or one pair of pants anymore regardless what name is sown on the label . The retailers reaped the benefits all those years and the consumers were stupid enough to let them but now the consumer is becoming savvy again looking for the best deal and not necessarily at name brands. This year I spent $100 on clothes and all I ended up with was 2 pr. jeans, 1 pr. of cheap Walmart work boots, and some undershirts and underwear and that was at these so called bargin prices. Maybe I'm just a penny pincher but In my mind that shouldn't have cost me but about half of that maybe just a little more than half.
  14. Everything had been ironed out ready to be voted on but the UAWU flat out refused to agree to any kind of concessions whatsoever so the Auto Bailout bill died and is said to stay dead. Senior members of congress were quoted as saying they did everything they could do and it didn't work so it was time to move on. So in the end it wasn't the Govt. that killed the big 3 it was their own employees greediness. Why should the Govt. and the Tax Payers help people that aren't willing to do their part to fix the problem??
  15. You can't really blame the banks for not making loans right now I mean that's how we got in the mess we are in and if folks couldn't pay off the loans they defaulted on before what's to lead us to believe they will be able to pay them off now?? I know someone who has the squeakiest clean credit report you could ever find and they were turned down this past week by Bank Of America for a loan of just $10,000 which is really absolutely nothing in terms of money these days. He's gotten much larger loans in the past and his credit history is the same now as it was then if not better. The fact is the banks are scared to death right now and rightfully so and in the process the folks with great credit and being punished because of the ones with the bad credit who burned the banks in the past.
  16. Folks fasten the seat belts cause this could be one very very ugly day on Wall Street both the S&P 500 and the Dow have hit Limit Downs at like 5 am this morning meaning there is virtually a freeze on selling once they get to a certain point which they both are at the lowest possible points allowed right now then when the markets open at 9:30 they can go as far as they go but these breakers as they call them are in place to try and stop panic selling and allow folks to stop and think. The over seas markets once again absolutely had a melt down overnight and as it stands now the Dow is down 548 pts. and the S&P is down 60 pts. and we still have another 1 1/2 hrs. before the markets open. Markets Hit Limt Downs
  17. There is going to be no huge price spike this time around matter of fact in over seas trading the price of oil fell and I'm sure it will keep that trend after the U.S. markets reopen tomorrow. Of course there was a panic move late in the week due to uncertainty of what would happen but now that Gustav was an absolute joke common sense is taking over. I'd expect gas at the pump to stay where it's been or even drop in the coming weeks.
  18. Like most of us she has bills that pile up, she recently lost her job due to cutbacks (this was after her new relationship started though), but I think the biggest thing with her and it's one I have also is loneliness. Our relationship didn't really come to an end until recently and by that I mean with the last year or so and I think she's at a point in life where she's asking the question "Where Is God At When I Need Him?". I think she's determined that all these years of following him and praying and being the so called good christian were for nothing and that she's going to start living life while she can whether it's against what she believes or not. I'm not sure what the road holds as far as mending things because I opened some deep wounds with my decisions in matters and I partly blame myself for her being where she is at this point at the very least I know I didn't help but we will always be friends we've been through way to much together to not be.
  19. Thank you for your kind words of advice. I talk to her via the internet almost on a daily basis sometimes like today it's not until the wee hours of the morning but she knows that I won't ever call it a night unless I know ahead of time she won't be home. She lives in Canada and I'm stuck here in the States so seeing each other face to face is very far and in between but I am looking to go there sometime around the first of the year. As far as conviction from the Lord I pray each and every night that it happens soon. It used to take nothing for her to be convicted of something but these days it's like she doesn't care. I try to bring up her past walk with the Lord but she quickly tunes me out like tonight and either changes the subject or all of a sudden decides she's tired and has to go to bed. But you better believe that I'm not about to give up on her because I know from being where she is right now myself exactly what she's thinking and going through and when I needed someone there she never left me and I'm not about to abandon her either.
  20. Ok this could get rather long so make sure you have a drink and some type of snack I have a very special and great friend in my life that I am really worried about right now. I guess before I go on I should give some background info. I met her through a christian chat site about 8 yr. ago and when we first met I was starting my walk with the Lord and was still the rebellious creature that I was and to say we didn't get along is an understatment I flipped her the finger once or twice in our discussions and one day the Lord put it on my heart that I should apologize to her. So long story short I did so and she was very skeptical as to my purpose for doing so but as time went on we become good friends and eventually that friendship turned into a relationship and at one point in time we were even engaged to be married. Due to some stupid things on my part the relationship fell apart but we remained very good friends. When I first met this woman she was so on fire for the lord you could see her coming a mile down the road that's how strong her presence was. I truly believe the Lord put her in my life for the sole purpose of saving me because at the time we met I was in a very dark place in my life and she helped me through that time and to grow as a person and christian. But now she is where I was and I am where she was although I still struggle from time to time. She recently re-connected with an old friend from high school and they have started dating and she has recently told me that they are sexually active also which threw me for a loop because when we were together while we struggled with that issue we always asked for strength and guidance but now she doesn't care anymore. For her it's now about having fun and doing whatever feels good. I noticed the other night that she doesn't end our conversations with God Bless anymore and she told me she didn't know why she just doesn't. The difference in like night and day and I am really concerned for her because she has totally gone from being a warrior of God to a person who now loves the earthly things the very things that she once put aside for the Lord but now it seems she's put the Lord aside for those desires. She has become very combative when it comes to talking about about religious topics. For instance when I asked her why she doesn't say god bless anymore the next thing out of her mouth after "I don't know" is "Why? Do you think I've totally lost track of my walk with the Lord now?". You try to talk to her about being wrong for having sex outside of marriage and it just turns into a huge fight and she usually ends up running away in a fuss. I am so worried for her right now and I just don't know how to reach her without coming across as a bible thumping , fun spoiling, Jealous ex-boyfriend (her words not mine). Nothing I say seems to be able to get through to her and I'm pretty sure any kind of religious text or music I try to send her at this point she'll just discard. Any ideas on how to approach her without it turning into a huge gigantic fight??
  21. "Precious Father creator of all things and master of all that was, is, and ever will be we humble ourselves before you and seek your shelter in the coming storm. Father we all remember the horrible images from Katrina 3 yr. ago today and as we speak another horrible and tragic situation faces us once again that has the potential to be even worse. Father God we know that despite all the efforts of the govt. and military who are doing everything they can to prepare this time around that the only true Savior the only person that has the ability to reach out and utter the words "Peace Be Still" is you Lord. Your children cry out for your protection from the storm Father and I pray that if it is your will that you show mercy that we as sinners truly don't deserve and that through this many will turn their lives over to you. We love you and praise you always and always.... In your Holy name we pray Father God....AMEN ! "
  22. I've always wondered about the passage from 1 Corinthians 7:8-9 that says " Now to the unmarried and the widow I say : It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am, But If they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion". How does one know they cannot control themselves if they haven't given in at one point or another in this case had sexual relations outside of marriage?? It doesn't condemn the fact that they weren't able to control themselves only that if they find they can't then they should be married.
  23. I agree that money is not a necessity for most but a want or a luxury that many of us have become to accustomed to. For instance I myself don't really need the newest, fanciest, most expensive things but my brother is the exact opposite and I find that he is always stressing out to find more and more money where I'm just happy with what I have. It's nice to have but it's not something I absolutely need or should be living for because as it is said about King Solomon the richest man in the Old Testament "The Rich mans Gold did him no good the night of his death".
