Pretty, is in the eye of the beholder - God looks at you as gorgeous. You just need to see your self like God sees you!

For the most part, yes, (and I believe our new bodies will look like us) Over time, our personalities, likes, dislikes, cause us to look a specific way - but the frame is designed by God - shape of nose, eyes, eye color, hair color, body build, and so on. Some we can change, hair style, and so on, others we can not change without surgery.

Don't bother Gary Lee! He is very closed minded on the subject.

Meanwhile back to the subject of "the armour of God".... I did a small study on that some time ago, God told me to concentrate my study on the helmet; I guess I was lacking in that area. This is what I came up with... Eph 6:11-18 – The Armor of God Put on the full armor of God that you will be able to stand towards the trickery of the devil. For we wrestle not toward flesh and blood, but toward principalities, towards Powers, towards the ruler (that is the devil himself) of the darkness or obscurity of this age, towards religious and supernatural wickedness in the Heavens. Wherefore take up the full armor of God in order that you'll be able to stand against in the evil day, and accomplishing all, to stand. Stand therefore, your loin {procreative part of the body} girded all around you with truth, having on {like clothing} the chest-plate {protects your heart, and other vital organs}of righteousness [conformity with Gods rules and standers], (justification), and bind under your foot {carries the weight of your whole body, also gives the body motion} with preparation [this is not the act, but rather just preparing for it] of the good message of peace (prosperity, be at one, quietness rest) Above all, take up the large shield of faith (persuasion), which you'll be able to extinguish all the inflamed arrows of the evil. Also, receive the helmet (encirclement of the head) {Protection of the brain, all thoughts, and the control center for the body} of the defender, {defend your thoughts; don't let the wrong thoughts in, and control you... according to Isa 59:17 the thoughts you should have as a helmet (these thoughts will protect your mind) is victory, prosperity, deliverance, health, save, help, welfare. Mixed with the thoughts that help protect you mind as a helmet from 1th 5:8; hope of deliverance.} also the war dagger of the Spirit, which is the spoken word of God. {the word of God may NOT be a sword as we think of a sword, but rather a dagger used in war. Unlike a sword, a dagger is hidden until it is needed (thy word have I hid in my heart...psa 119:11) Also a dagger is used in closer combat than a sword. Interesting, the sword that comes from the Lords mouth in Revelations, IS a sword...} Praying through every occasion, with all worship and reverent requests in the Spirit, keeping awake, and watching throughout with all persistence, and reverent requests for all saints; (physically pure, morally blameless)

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." You have probably heard that little chant, I've said it when I was a child. However, that is a lie, the Bible says that the power of life and death is in the tongue. Watch what you say today. Tearing The Walls Down One day in a land far away, People were marching around a city that day, Seven days without a sound, God’s word had the people bound, Then the seventh day in unity they did shout, Their faith was strong, they didn’t doubt, And the walls can down, Flattened by God, to the ground, They didn’t bicker, for they were in unity, Bickering wouldn’t have brought the walls down, only if they agree, Why do we fight, Why don’t we hold tight, The word of God is strong, It says right is right, and wrong is wrong, Unity is power, To fight the devil within this hour, The devil is winning when we can’t agree, So when will we open out blinded eyes so we can see, I remember when people joint together, Joining hands in love, one to another, Instead of ripping each other apart, Joining hands is the way we should start, The little girls dreams are dashed to the ground, Because of fighting in the home, throwing vain words around, Those vain words of strife, Are destroying her life, Why do we have to fight? Why do we always have to be right? When the Christians can’t agree, What in the church is the world supposed to see? By His Spirit God can’t move, When there’s strife, Gods power He can’t prove, Why do we our brothers and sisters attack? Why do we talk behind there back? In the church we murder one another, Killing our own sisters and brothers, Are you ready to wash one another’s feet? Be careful of what you say, so your words you won’t have to eat, My friend, give each other a loving hug has I close this poem, And you will be blessed by Jesus, when He takes you home.

How well have you learned to hear your Father’s voice?
Faithbuilders replied to Living Stone's topic in General Discussion
He is my Father, my Brother, my King, my best Friend, my Lord.... I talk with Him as such; that means both talk, and listen. He speaks to me, and I hear his voice; when I listen.- 9 replies

Ps 119:10 בְּ·כָל־ לִבִּ֥·י דְרַשְׁתִּ֑י·ךָ אַל־ תַּ֝שְׁגֵּ֗·נִי מִ·מִּצְוֹתֶֽי·ךָ׃ לִבִּ֥·י = heart in the Hebrew; thank you! I will believe what I like.
-
Yes, it is a textbook written by the Holy Spirit through the hands of men. We study to show thyself approved. It it don't change the fact that the word used in the scripture to represent the soul, is heart! The actual word in the Hebrew means "heart" is also is used figuratively for "the feelings, the will, and even the intellect" and also use figuratively for "the center of anything"
-
Well then you can see the heart is used. in the KJV and Strongs.
-
OK, I have one question; you have indicated in other forums that the KJV is not the true scripture, my question is, where do you get your stuff from... what is the "true" scripture to you? Where do you get stuff like the death angel being to son of Perdition?
-
That's what I am wondering also ??? I am using the KJV. Ps 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. H3820 לֵב leb (laɓe) n-m. 1. the heart. 2. (figuratively, very widely) the feelings, the will, and even the intellect. 3. (likewise) the center of anything. You really need to stop nitpicking!

The sword, we swing it with our mouth --- the sword is actually a dagger, it is used for close combat, (the enemy whispering in your ear) and is hidden until needed, (thy Word have I hid in my heart). The word that is that dagger is the spoken word. So we hide the word in our heart like a hidden war-dagger; than when the devil comes to whisper those lies in our ears, we speak the word of God to him, and it is a stab and sends him fleeing!
-
You could be right, all I am saying is there is no bible scripture to back it up. And I believe if he can put thoughts into our minds, whats to stop him from reading our mind, except the Word of God.
-
Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the {spoken] word of God: The helmet protects the brain, and spiritually thoughts; It protects us from the enemy placing thoughts in, it stands to reason that it also protects us from the enemy taking thoughts out. Again; I can not find in the scripture arguments for one way or the other - so until I do, I will protects my thoughts with the Word of God and faith as if he can read them... then all he will get is the Word.
-
I was always taught that the devil could not read your mind; but I have never found any scripture to back that idea up, (perhaps I am missing something) I look at it this way; if the devil can put thoughts into our mind, why would he not be able to read them!

Fav Quotes (non-bible scriptures)
Faithbuilders replied to Faithbuilders's topic in General Discussion
I am assuming you get that from the top commandments "love God, and love others" and that ALL other commandments hang on those two. Because if you love God, doing what you please WILL be doing what pleases God. -
What are some of your favorite quotes, they don't need to be spiritual, and not bible scriptures? I have two first one I came up with.... "Dream big, start small" And one from my favorite fictional character... see if you can guess who this is from..... "When you eliminate all the possibilities, what ever is left, however improbable must be the truth." Of course the top quote does not include the kingdom of God, for God can create possibilities out of nothing.
-
It starts at the top! This that are in leadership MUST follow God first - it will then filter down to the rest.

Being upset about my appearence - Is that a sin?

People have different likes, there is nothing wrong with changing your appearance... but, you need to do it for the right reason, not so that guys will look at you; (most of those guys have lust in there heart, and you don't want those type of guys looking at you) If you change your look, you need to do it for yourself, what you like. But first you need to understand, that as a Christian, you are beautiful, and unless you get a hold of that, you will never be happy with how you look on the outside. -
Ride on, Daddy Daddy has to move the cattle up west looking for water, and what spot is the best. Momma said, daddy will be home soon With our love, and prayers, how can he loose All at once the thunder crashed, and there was banging on the door outside stood the Sharif, as the rain did pour. We've Got serious trouble up on the range There's something that's ever so strange There are 5 riders with the devil in there eyes every man who meets them, quickly dies That night felt forever before the break of day Momma and the children fell to there knees and prayed God keep daddy safe as on the range he rides Send down your protection, down from the skies, If he'd have to ride a black tornado Or the ground opened up from Canada to Mexico God we know You will bring daddy back soon And we will wait, underneath the Friday moon The sky in the horizon turned green Death was in the air, it would seem Momma rubbed her hands, as fear crept in A little voice behind her said, daddy will be home, when? Momma turned around, and burst into tears We need to pray away all our fears God keep daddy safe as on the range he rides Send down your protection, down from the skies For nothing could restrain Not even a hurricane God we know You'll bring daddy back soon And we'll wait for him underneath the Saturday moon The sun is setting, the horizon is red Supper is done, the children are in bed Momma's trusting God, to faith she would heed Nothing could stop him, not even a wild stampede God kept daddy safe as on the range he rides thank you for Your protection sent down from the sky's Daddy followed our love home, with God on his side through all the dangers he rode, with God on his mind Thank You Lord, for bringing daddy home soon and we will praise You underneath the Sunday moon

I was always taught, "you can't stop a bird from flying overhead, but you can stop it from building a nest in your hair." That being said, continually fill up your mind with the word of God, and soon there will not be room for the bad thoughts. It does take time, but keep at it, and you will succeed. Also remember that the Bible says, to cast down the wrong thoughts, that is an action statement. Not just action but violent action.

Just look at history; how well did it go over when the government tried to abolish alcohol?
-
Not sure what you are trying to say here, but you are right, repeating something does not make it true, the Word of God makes it true. And the scriptures is clear; those that have had the Holy Spirit, and tasted of His power through them; to then turn on the Holy Spirit, in essence grieving Him... it is truly impossible for those to repent. Put that together with the scripture that says "if you confess your sins to God...He will forgive you..." That tells me the truth clear, Once they have grieved the Holy Spirit to that point, one would have no desire to repent, therefor there would be no forgiveness! I have no issues reconsidering what I believe, (I've done it before) when its proven scripturally. That I don't see in whatever it is you are trying to say.

When I thought I heard it all.....
Faithbuilders replied to Faithbuilders's topic in General Discussion
Thank you! That's perfect, I'll, (Lord willing) use that the next time I see him. -
Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. Here it is talking about a persons will; Once they have moved in the power of the Holy Spirit then to turn away (not just sin, but an act of the will, to purposefully turn away from the Holy Spirit) They can not be brought to repentance because the Holy Spirit has been grieved to the point that He left. You NEED the Holy Spirit in order to even have the desire to repent. It falls under the same category as when Jesus said, "if you speak againsed the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven, in this life...or the life to come"
