  1. Thanks Cerebrus, You know, there are many of us as believers who still have issues. Believe me, I still get angry at times and I can have a fit of carnality at times as well. I am not pefect, just saved by His grace. There are many secular resources that help people. Take for example AA, yes they do have a 12 step program and they even give credit to God but this is still considered a secular help program. Each one of us has to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling as the scripture states. I would caution you however on the zen-buddisim stuff as it is considered a religon and has its roots in paganism. But I suspect you know this from reading your post that you are bothered by the fact that it was this secular resource that helped you. You know that sanctification is a process. And you also know that the flesh and the spirit are emnity to one another and we will always war in some area of our lives until we recieve our glorified bodies. Try and apply the scripture to your life. Its not enough just to meditate on the word but put action behind it. You might see a difference there. This scripture has helped me in the past and i would lke to share it with you. Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brethren (Cerebrus), whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things. Shalom to you!

  3. Welcome to Worthy! May I ask who is Jesus/Yeshua to you? Im a bit confused about your post. As a believer in the Messiah Yeshua, it is not I that lives, but He that lives in and thru me. I have been crucified with Him, so my self-esteem means nothing. I am glad that you have been able to overcome your anger issues and negative attitudes. If I may ask, for what would you rely on Yeshuas power for in your life? Are you born-again?
  4. There will always be division in doctrine as long as we have different denominations. Where does it say in scripture Yeshua never drank? Luke 7:33-34- "For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking Wine, and you say he has a demon.' "The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, 'Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' "But wisdom is justified by all her children." Notice also in Matt. 9:10- Now it happened, as Jesus sat at the table in the house, that behold, many tax collectors and sinners CAME AND SAT DOWN with Him and His disciples. (Jesus did not go to where they were, they came to where He was) But also notice Jesus did not get up from the table and excuse Himself, Rather He turns No one away. Most people say that Jesus went to them to eat and drink with them. But the scripture says they came and sat down with Him. There is the difference.
  5. Thats not a "suicide bombing". Thats plain murder! Murder of those 2 mentally challanged women and those that died along with them. Its barbaric and it makes me sick to my stomach.
  6. My dear Biblicist, heavens No. Faith has nothing to do with it. God made us as emotional beings, some more than others, its very theraputic to cry. I find those that dont are actually hurting more down deep than others. My daughter recently started to work at the hospital I work at. Im a nurse, she is a cna. I have had so many patients to die on my shift in the last several years. When she saw that I was not crying over the death of one of our patients she said that I was "cold-hearted" and could not understand my reaction. Of course this was her first experience with a dying person and understandablly she cried. I explained to her later that I have protocols to go by, calling the doctor, calling the family, cleaning up the deceased person, notifying the funeral home and the mass paper work also involved. For me. its usually after all of that, that I go off by myself for reflection and weeping. Now when it comes to my family members who have passed away, I cry sometimes so much to the point I cannot stop. But its funny, when my grandmother passed away, I rejoiced. She loved the Lord sooo very much. I know that I know she is with Him! This is how I tend to look at it anymore. There is a time for everything under the heavens. A time to weep and a time to rejoice. Everyone is different in their reactions to a loved one dying. Faith has nothing to do with our reactions to a dying loved one, at least it doesnt mean anything abut us crying or not. If i had been there with your mom, i would probably have been crying along with her.
  7. Lets see what Paul said about it. 1 Corinth. 11:18, 19 For first of all, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are Divisions among you, and in part I believe it. For there MUST also be Factions among you, that those who are approved may be Recognized among you. Notice here Paul says For there must also be factions among you. Paul finds it hard to believe that such grievous Divisions could exist, But he sees a Divine purpose at work in them, Revealing who is Schismatic and who is true in spirit. This will continue in the Church until the wheat and tares are seperated.
  8. Gal.2:20,21 "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by Faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. "I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes thru the law, then Christ died in vain."
  9. ALL of the 10 commands points us to our NEED of a Savior. Our school master as the scripture states. None of us have ever kept them all. For example, do not commit adultry, and yet Yeshua said if one even looks upon another with thoughts of lust they have committed adultry in their heart. He really brought that commandment to a higher standard. And Yeshua also said that who would not go and help their neighbor get their donkey out of the ditch on the Sabbath if they needed help or something like that. I am a nurse and i have to work every other Sat. Sabbath. I got sooo much ridicule from some believers I worship with on quitting my job so that I could Keep every Shabbat. They may have meant well, but their hearts did not consider those less fortunate who need care at the hospital. They were more concerned about me keeping the Sabbath than they were for those I take care of every other Saturday, and thats just wrong. But a very kind person here at worthy helped me to see that human needs trumps any Sabbath traditions. And I agree. Every man must be convinced in their own mind. Yeshua IS my Sabbath, I find my rest in Him. In Him I live, move, and have my being. I know that God created the Sabbath, that it is the 7th day of the week, that a lot of us worship on Sunday out of tradition. But I know that Yeshua said that many in that day would say to Him, Lord, look what we did in your name, and He tells them to depart I never knew you. He says in Matt 25:31- 35 For I was hungry and you gave Me food, thirsty and you gave Me water, naked and you clothed Me, a stranger and you took Me in, in prison and you visited Me, .... He does not say you kept ALL the 10 commands perfectly. I used to believe that one MUST worship on Saturday Sabbath, but i have since changed my mind.
  10. Ex. 12:49 "One Law shall be for the native born and for the stranger who dwells among you."
  11. Acts 15:19-21 "Therefore I judge that we should not trouble those from among the Gentiles who are turning to God. But write to them that they should abstain from....... 21 For Moses has had thru out all generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath. In other words, 4 requirments were given to Gentiles to fellowship with the Jewish Believers and then these same Gentiles can learn all about God and Jesus from the reading of the Old Test in the synagogues (which there were some in every city) on the Sabbath.
  12. Who were the 10 commands given to? Ex. 12:10 Then the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about 600,000 men on foot besides children. And a MIXED multitude went up with them also........ The footnote in my NKJV says: These were probably Egyptian slaves who followed Israels example of offering the sacrifical lamb. They saw the God of Israel at work, and they believed and recieved Gods blessing for obedience.
  13. well said Yod! Very well said. Ya know, scripture says that out of one blood God mad every man/mankind.
  14. Exactly lovingHimforever! You know, i bet the devil knows the scripture. I find its more how we apply the scripture in our lives.
  15. Oh yea, I forgot to mention that I can quote some scripture and at times can tell you which book its it, but most of the time i cant tell you which chapter and verse.
  16. I agree with the other poster here that it is more important, well at least for me, to have the word written and hidden on and in my heart. For instance, my husband said one of the best sermons he ever heard was when I was asleep, sitting straight up in bed, and quoting scripture and he said it wasnt just one or two, he said i was in warfare in the spiritual realm and that our spirit man does not sleep and i was giving the devil the run for his money that night. Its funny, when i woke up, i didnt even remember it happening. I just woke up to see my husband and my kids sitting at the bottom of the bed crying and praising God.
  17. It is not a salvation issue, but the Sabbath still stands as the 7th day.
  18. Here is just a few excerpts from Protestants/Pastors about this subject. Isaac Williams, Anglican/Episcopal "And where we are told in the scriptures that we are to keep the 1st day at all? We are commanded to keep the 7th. but we are no where commanded to keep the 1st day,. The reason we keep the 1st day of the week holy instead of the 7th is for the same reason we observe many other things, not because the Bible, but the Church has enjoined it." Lutheran (the Sunday problem) a study book of the united Lutheran church. "We have seen how gradually the impression of the Jewish Sabbath faded from the mind of the Christian Church, and how completley the newer thought underlying the observance of the 1st day took possession of the church. We have seen that the christians of the first 3 centuries never confused one with the ohter, but for a time celebrated both." Martin Luther "They (Roman Catholics) refer to the Sabbath day, as having been changed into the Lords Day, contrary to the Decalouge, as it seems. Neither is there any example whereof they make more than concerning the changing of the Sabbath Day. Great, say they, is the power of the Church, since it has dispensed with one of the 10 commandments!" John Wesley "But the moral Law contained in the 10 commandments, and enforced by the prophets, he (Christ) did not take away. It was not the design of His coming to revoke any part of this. This is a law which never can be broken. Every part of this law must remain in force upon all mankind, and in all ages; as not depending on either time or place , or any other circumstances liable to change, but on the nature of God and the nature of man, and their unchangeable relation to each other." D.L.Moody "The Sabbath was binding in Eden, and it has been in force ever since. This 4th commandment begins with the word 'remember', showing that the Sabbath day already existed when God wrote the law on the tables of stone at Sinai. How can men claim that this 1 commandment has been done away with when they will admit that the other 9 are still binding?" Presbyterian T.C.Blake "The Sabbath is a part of the Decalogue-the Ten commandments. This alone forever settles the question as to the perpetuity of the institution. Until, therefore, it can be shown that the Whole Moral Law has been repealed, the Sabbath will stand. The teaching of Christ confirms the perpetuity of the Sabbath." Bishop Seymour, Why we keep Sunday: "We have made the change from the 7th day to the 1st day, from Saturday to Sunday, on the Authority of the one holy Catholic church." There are many more, these are just a few.
  19. The High Holy Feast days did not always fall on Saturday. Shavout(Pentecost) was always 50 days after the Feast of Passover and always fell on Sunday(the first day of the week) And still does to this day. And Jews still celebrate this Feast day and it always falls on a Sunday as it has since the beginning God initiated that Feast. Shavout, (Pentecost) was when the Holy Spirit was given to the 120 in the upper Room. There were many Jews there for the celebration of the Feast of Shavout (Pentecost) and Peter preached to them and 3000 were ADDED to the Church that day. Go back to the OT and you will see that 3,000 were killed on that day when Moses recieved the 10 commandments. There were 2 Sabbaths the week Yeshua was crucified. Saturday (the 7th day) is the Sabbath Day according to God. That has never changed. It was not set aside as a day of worship. We can worship God every day. And prophecy states that when the New heavens and New Earth are established All flesh will come to worship God from one New Moon to the next and from One Sabbath to the next.
  20. 1 Corinth. 14 Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may PROPHESY. verse 3 But he who Prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. verse 5 I wished you all spoke with tongues, BUT even more that you prophesied; Chapter 11 verse 5 But every womanwho prays or PROPHESIES..... Acts 2:18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and THEY shall Prophesy. Acts 21:9 Now this man (Philip the evangelist) had 4 virgin daughters who PHROPHESIED. Numbers 11:29 "Oh, that ALL the Lords People were prophets and that the Lord would put His Spirit upon them!" Exodus 15:20 Then Miriam the Pophetess..........
  21. Gen 1:26 Then God said "Let Us make man in Our own image, according to Our likeness....... verse 27 So God created man in His own image..... Gen ch. 3:22 Then the Lord God said, "Behold, the man has become like ONE of Us (Notice the verse does not say Behold the man has become LIKE US , but rather like One of Us) 1 Corith.15:47-49 The 1st man was of the earth, made of dust; the 2nd Man is the Lord from heaven. As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. And as we have borne the IMAGE of the man of dust, we shall ALSO bear the IMAGE of the heavenly Man. Gen 5:1,3 This is the book of the Genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. (In the day that God created Adam, God made Adam in His likeness) verse 3 And Adam lived 130 years, and begot a son In his OWN LIKENESS, after his OWN IMAGE, and named him Seth. If you are born-again, then you bear the image of the of the man of dust and also the image of the heavenly Man. If you are not born-again, you only bear the image of the man of dust. Gen 3:19 For dust you ARE, and to dust you shall return.
  22. Hey Vickilynn, Love you sister and just for the record I am your Sister! LOL okay so ya probably didnt know that! Shalom
  23. Well, we walk by faith, not by sight or feelings. I too have been where you are at right now. I guess for me, it was kinda of a testing period. Sometimes the Father calls His children to the wilderness and thats not all together a bad thing. Its where we depend on Him for food and water. You said that" the only way I hang on still is by "Knowing" in my mind that God is there" Thats called Faith! Here is a footnote from my bible about faith from Hebrews 11 verses 35-38 "The fact that others were tortured and suffered in various other ways indicates that faith does not provide an automatic exemption from hardships, trials, or tragedy. Furthermore, the experience of such difficulties does not mean that the people undergoing them possess less faith than those who are not afflicted. The same faith that enables some to escape trouble enables others to endure it. The same faith that delivers some from death enables others to die victoriously. Faith is not a bridge over troubled waters, but is a pathway thru them." "Discerning the pathway and the source of any hardships encountered requires aggressive prayer and worship. Thru these means, Gods perspective becomes focused." So dont worry that you do not "feel" His closeness, for He is ever present. As you stated, you hang on because you KNOW that He is there! That is called Faith my friend.
  24. Okay, the wicked could not possibly be the only ones on the earth during the Great Tribulation for John saw a number that no man could number coming out of the GT having their robes made white with the blood of the lamb and their testimony. We keep talking about the GT being the Wrath of God, so where does the tribulation of the saints, the anti-christ and those who follow him fall into all this? Is he (anti-christ) persecuting those on the earth who do not take his mark? Is this not the tribulation? Does Gods wrath on the wicked last 7years? 3and one half years? or is it the Day of the Lord which is like no other? Rev 1:9 "I, John, both your brother and companion IN the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, .... John experiences WITH his readers The Tribulation, or persecution on account of their faith, with patient endurance, which is steadfast courage under unjust suffering. I have a personal belief about the 144,000 "redeemed" from the earth. These being the firstfruits of God and the Lamb, those from the 12 tribes of Israel. I believe these are those who came up out of their graves after Jesus's resurrection. Here is why I believe this. Is. 26:19 " Your dead shall live; Together with my dead body they shall arise, Awake and sing, you who dwell in dust; For your dew is like the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead." Rev. 14 3- They sang as it were a new song BEFORE the throne, before the 4 living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the 144,000 who WERE REDEEMED FROM THE EARTH. 4-....These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were REDEEMED from among men, being FIRSTFRUITS to God and to the Lamb. 5....they are without fault BEFORE the Throne of God. Matt 27:52 and the graves were opened; and MANY bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were Raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many. I believe these are the 144,000, they sing a new song, the song of reedemption, these were the fist to be raised from the dead AFTER Jesus's resurrection, These were the 1st to be redeemed from the dust of the earth after Jesus's resurrection. There are no scriptures that say they will preach the gospel during the tribulation period, but these are those that Follow the Lamb wherever He goes. They are with Him now. They are before the throne NOW, I believe they went on to heaven after their witness here on earth after Jesus resurrection. Of course this is only my pesonal belief.
