Apparently there are many denominations that believe that the Church has become Israel and there is no longer any place for Israel in future events.  I have been in a very long dialogue with such a person and I'm not believing people are actually this arrogant!

Does anyone know which denominations teach this?  I can tell you Seventh day Adventists are one since that is the denomination of the man I have been discussing this with.

This replacement theology you are speaking of is called "Covenant Theology". Many denominations of the reformed stripe teach this. Some denominations have a looser hold on their individual churches, so they may not as a denomination teach this, but many members of that denomination actually believe it. This covenant theology also comes with it a a-mil or post-mil perspective. In other words they believe that we are already living in the millenium. To believe this you have to alegorize many, many scirptures.

I've never heard of "replacement theology" and I'm not a "pentacostal" but I believe that GOD's people now follow Christ. According to Jesus Christ He is the way of life and there is no other way to be saved. Anyone, including Jews, that denies that Jesus Christ is the Son of GOD cannot be GOD's people. The Bible makes this perfectly clear.

I am Pentecostal and proud of it!  I think what people mean by "replacement theology" is that all the scriptures in the New Testament that speak to the Jewish people and the nation of Isreal are really for Christians.  THIS IS FALSE DOCTRINE!!!  God is still dealing with the Jewish people-and in the end times-it will all come down to them!  Most of the "replacement theology" teachers are liberal in their interpretation of scripture, such as United Methodist, Presbyterian ect...

Well, to clarify a little, the churches that believe this, whatever they call it, believe that the Israel is just a spot on the map in Palestine and that God is finished with the Jewish people and has no further plans for them.  That they must come to Jesus to be saved and be the Church.  There are too many prophecies that haven't been fulfilled until now for this to be so.  Romans tells us that God purposely blinded them so that the Gentiles could be saved and He will lift the veil from their eyes when the fullness of the Gentiles has come.

I did some research and it appears that Presbyterians and Catholics teach this along with the SDA's.

Well, I have a dear friend who is SDA and she has no idea what you are talking about. So not all SDA's believe this I guess.

This replacement theology you are speaking of is called "Covenant Theology". Many denominations of the reformed stripe teach this.

I am a believer in Covenant Theology (as opposed to dispensationalism) and most definately am of the reformed faith. And I certainly don't believe this and did not hear it preached in the reformed church I attended for several years. Just wanted to let you know that.

HOWEVER.....no man comes unto the Father except through the Son....jew or gentile...all are bound under sin and need His atonement. The absolute worst anti-semetic thing one could do is withhold the gospel from jewish people out of some belief that they have a different covenant of salvation.

Amen. ITA.

WIP,

If your friends church doesn't teach that they are "Spiritual Israel" and the "Remnant"  I would be very surprised.  That is one of the fundamental beliefs of the SDA church and they have to accept it to be a member.  Seems like a lot of the SDA's who have grown up in the church don't know what they really believe.

I just came out of a denomination that ignores ALL prophecy relating to the endtimes, and not acknowledging God's current dealings with Israel is just the tip of the iceberg for that group.

I won't name the denomination on the boards (email me and I will tell you privately), but I will warn anyone who is experiencing the same thing to "BEWARE", because you probably aren't getting the nourishment you'll need when "all these things come to pass".

The church did not and will not take the place of the chosen people of God. Anyone who doubts this needs to figure out why their Bible doesn't have Romans 10-11 included!

Amen Fishman!

I spelled out Romans 9, 10 and 11 in great detail to this person and still couldn't get through.  It was like talking to the wall.   Lord, bless them!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
