In the beginning the Word already existed.

The Word was with God,

and the Word was God.

He existed in the beginning with God.

God created everything through him,

and nothing was created except through him.

The Word gave life to everything that was created,[a]

and his life brought light to everyone.

The light shines in the darkness,

and the darkness can never extinguish it.

[a] Or and nothing that was created was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything.

Or, poetically: without him not anything was made that was made

Now we see things imperfectly as in a cloudy mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity.[c] All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.

I take it "The Word" is Jesus?

Yes!

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

Can You See?

As All Can See When Looking At The Testimony Written Into All Creation, There Is Some ONE Up There Much Greater That The Vanity Of Men.

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:"

"Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened."

"Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,"

Romans 1:20-22

And Although A Man May Juke Here Or Jive There While Living Out His Short Life, There Is A Day Coming When God's Books Will Balance.

"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."

"For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

Life

"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:"

John 11:25

Or Not

"The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand."

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."

John 3:35-36

Now

"Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?"

"Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof."

"And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder."

Matthew 21:42-44

Or Later

"For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God."

"So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God."

So even though Jesus had a role in creation and witnessed creation, He forgot some of it when He came to earth? Or did He just not witness it all? If He didn't have the full knowledge of God while He was here on earth, how do you know which things He said were from the knowledge of God and which were just guesses?

Does the left hand know what the right hand is doing?

:noidea:

John 8 v 26- "I have many things to say and to judge concerning you, but He who sent Me is true, and I speak to the world those things which I heard from Him." - Jesus of Nazareth.

John 8 v 28 - Then Jesus said to them, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself, but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things." - Jesus of Nazareth.

John 12 v 49- "For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak." - Jesus of Nazareth.

John 6 v 63- " It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life." - Jesus of Nazareth.

John 6 v 38- "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me." - Jesus of Nazareth.

verses from NKJ Study Bible.

NC ~ Going by these verses - Jesus was not guessing at anything.

He was obedient to God and did/said what God needed Him to say.

How does Eternity step into time?

In becoming man, He had to live within our confines. Knowledge being one of them.

As for "the knowledge of God," the Holy Spirit communicated with Him the things He needed to know. Since His coming to Earth as a man had nothing to do with "science," I highly doubt such specifics on the process of Creation would have been necessary.

Far from guesswork NC...

Luke 2 v 47- "And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers." - NKJ

Jesus was a boy of 12 - He was not "parroting" - He had a grasp on Spiritual matters.

Luke 2 v 49- And He said to them, 'Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father's business?" - NKJ

Jesus was 12 when He uttered these words.

I just have a hard time reconciling the fact that a being present at creation and with supernatural insight into the world didn't know what season figs grew on trees.

Have you ever been that hungry, where you have gone to the cupboard looking for food (knowing the cupboard is bare) but hoping to find something anyway?

I have.

Same thing with the fig tree... :emot-questioned: Jesus was hungry.

He knew.

As a teacher/mentor He was giving His disciples an object lesson in faith. If you read the entire passage, you will see that this is what He was doing.

Neb is right - Jesus used that situation to teach them about faith.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
