My own opinion....

SDA churches are widely different. As a generalized statement, the SDA churches on the west coast of the U.S. tend to be more solidly biblical. They teach the gospel of salvation and support evangelical missions groups which are not affiliated with SDA.

Those SDA churches on the east coast of the U.S. tend to be far less likely to believe the only way to God and salvation is by faith in Jesus alone. There is more emphasis on certain SDA distinctive like refraining from eating meat.

All I am trying to say is SDA is not cookie cutter, and there are SDA churches which are solid on the gospel of salvation.

How can you judge a whole denomination based on your contact with a couple of people? Are you saying that all the people that have accepted the truth and been baptized through the SDA church are false? Are you saying that all the testimonies and miracles are false? Are you God now, that knows the thoughts and intents of the heart? Are you the Spirit of Truth that searches the deep things of God? Don't let your anger and personal opinions direct your response.

Matthew 7: 1Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Jesus said don't blaspheme the Holy Spirit. That doesn't only include rejecting him, but claiming that Christ spirit is from the devil. Be careful how you pronounce God's judgment on ANYBODY.

Don't forget, read your bible. All through the Bible and through history, the people who have always stood up for God's truth were the minority, not the majority. That's test of faith. Can you stand for the truth even when you're being called a devil? This will be a never ending battle that I refuse to entertain. Christians shouldn't be condemning and "arguing" about God's word, but that doesn't stop God's word from acomplishing it's purpose.

Fikayo are you part of the 7th Day Adventists? Curious.

Here's what I found on this topic:

1843 – Cult: Adventists. A minister by the name of William Miller believed that he had discerned the actual date of the return of Christ - 1844. It didn’t happen on the date predicted. It also didn’t happen the following year when he predicted Christ’s return. This became known as the “Great Disappointment.” Miller was understood to be a false prophet.

1863Cult: Seventh Day Adventists. Spinoff of Adventist movement lead by William Miller. Ellen Harmon, later to become Ellen G. White, claimed that she had a revelation from God that Miller’s date was correct after all. 1844 was a spiritual date that Christ came and cleaned the sanctuary. She offered no proof of her assertion Biblical or otherwise. White received a revelation that true Christians must keep the Sabbath and worship on Saturday. This of course is a false claim by a false prophet.

This is also a good resource coutresy of bopeep1909

Question: "What is Seventh-day Adventism (SDA), and what do Seventh-day Adventists believe?"

Answer: There seem to be different "degrees" of Seventh-day Adventism. Some Seventh-day Adventists believe identically to orthodox Christians, other than believing that worship should be held on Saturday and that the Saturday Sabbath should still be observed. If these are the only differences, then, yes, a person could be a Seventh-day Adventist and still be a true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.

However, some Seventh-day Adventists believe in much more than a Saturday Sabbath / worship day. Seventh-day Adventists have been known to believe in the annihilation of the wicked instead of an eternal hell, and believe that believers who die enter a state of soul sleep and that a person must observe the Saturday Sabbath in order to be saved. Other problems with some Seventh-day Adventists are belief in Ellen G. White, the founder of Seventh-day Adventism, as a true prophet of God, even though many of her "prophecies" failed to come true, and that Jesus entered a second phase of His redemptive work on October 22, 1844, as "prophesied" by Hiram Edson.

So, what is Seventh-day Adventism, and what do Seventh-day Adventists believe? Should a Christian attend a Seventh-day Adventist church? Due to the potential doctrinal issues mentioned above, we would strongly encourage believers to not get involved in Seventh-day Adventism. Yes, a person can be an advocate of Seventh-day Adventism and still be a believer. At the same time, there are enough potential issues to make attending a Seventh-day Adventist church questionable at best.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
