The answer comes a few scriptures down from Matthew 3:16

This is the verdict, Light(Jesus Christ) came into the world but man loved darkness.

Many churches have welcomed darkness and sin with open arms. Nothing is evil or wicked in many churches. They have changed the grace of Jesus Christ into a license of immorality. The falling away occurs because man in church and out of church love darkness.

Your either a Child of Light or Child of darkness...Child of Jesus or a Child of satan....and the only way to tell the difference is by what they glorify.

What do you say to a person who rejects the truth? Even after the truth is pointed out from the Word itself, what do you say, and how are we to act toward that individual?

Dusts off your feet and turn them over to Jesus. Most people I meet reject the truth online or offline. You still treat them with love, patience, kindness, slow to anger.........and let it go.....like the disciples told the Jews in Acts...some people don't consider themselves worthy of eternal life...let it be....hopefuly if it is Jesus's will and for the soul's sake...he will choose them and they will see the error of their ways....And repent get reborn and live a life pleasing and glorifying to him.

We should not forget that when the antichrist comes he will do wonders just like Jesus did. He will do things that will seem like he is fulfilling prophetic scripture that Jesus has already fulfilled like dieing and coming back to life. Can you imagine how many Christains who will look at that and say "Oop's maybe we were wrong. Maybe this is the real Jesus. Look at what he is doing." Not only will the antichrist do wonders but I believe that he will claim to be Christ the son of God.

I agree. This is why all these new kinds of wonders, like gold teeth, gold dust, new manna, gems of unknown material, and the like, raises such a red flag in me.

2 Thessalonians 2

3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,

4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

I think the falling away has more to do with the media then the churches. Yes I think we should get back to more traditional beliefs, but traditional beliefs were that God really doesn't care for us, that he "holds us over the fires of hell like a woman holds a spider in her home over the fires" to quote my 9-greats-uncle-in-law Jonathan Edwards (his daughter married my 8-greats-uncle on my mom's mom's side of the family). Of course we know better now, we know that while being a just God, our God is one of love, not contempt. At the same time I recognize that if we don't change just a bit we will be lost with the times, but only one thing really truly must change, and that's our music, for even in the past that's the only factor besides the preacher's homily that has changed the most.

The reason I suspect the media has more to do with this problem is because of a preconception that has been shoved down my throat about people of other denominations, one that was never denied my my father's side of the family. See, I'm Catholic, and the way I always perceived people of other denominations are that they go around trying to "save your soul" door to door by getting you to join their faith and then go to some secret meeting where they share how many souls they saved and pick out prizes like girls selling girl scout cookies. The only denominations I actually felt comfortable around were my best friend's and my aunt on my mom's side's, and that was only because I would say something like "My church does (insert something my church would do)" and my best friend would go "Oh, my church does that to" and then we'd start comparing similarities. The reason for my fear of the others is because my aunt out right told my dad he was going to hell because he was Catholic when he was younger (after my great-grandfather's death my dad became the only Catholic until I was born) and whenever my uncle visits from New Hampshire it's always a religious debate between him and my dad, and of course I always have to jump in because I know more about Catholicism then my dad.

The other thing the media says is that you'd have to be a freak to be religious, that being athletic and religious don't mix or that being normal and religious don't mix. The media says that by being religious you are automatically a freak and people don't want to be labeled as freaks so they shove off religion as something that's there when they need a rant. That's really all they use it for, as an outlet to scream at God when things aren't going their way.

Peace out

:th_praying: ... Oh My! You really believed this about other churches?

Tthe media has nothing to do with the falling away, Christians do. Just because they may say something, doesn't mean you have to believe it.

Me too. God does not do parlor tricks. When He moves supernaturally in order to meet a need and to demonstrate His character and operations.

Those who study God's Word and know Christ will not be fooled by the Antichrist. Those who do not will be the ones who are fooled. That is why God says to know His word.

I worry a bit less about the prosperity teaching - wrong as it is - because it's basically immaturity that can and will be corrected with a personal rude awakening or two. And yes, the bumps will cause some to turn away.

More troublesome I believe is the creeping liberal humanism that progressively infects us, because there isn't much natural restraint against it once institutional barriers have been breached (indeed, law is actually being used as it vanguard). Many of the destructive effects are generational, and by the time the data is in a lot of damage will have been done.

And Charitow - your comment was "babbling" only in the sense of clear, cool mountain brook! <smile>

I am mainly concerned about simple basic core doctrines, things which I thought were not even open to debate for a Christian.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
