Gun-rights advocates say they're exercising their constitutional right to bear arms and protest, while those who argue for more gun control say it could be a disaster waiting to happen. Phoenix police said the gun-toters at Monday's event, including the man carrying an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle slung over his shoulder, didn't need permits. No crimes were committed, and no one was arrested. The man with the rifle declined to be identified but told The Arizona Republic that he was carrying the assault weapon because he could. ``In Arizona, I still have some freedoms,'' he said. Just curious, are children fearful of rifles on public display like that, or is it so normal that they don't blink?

These Orwellian "free speech zones" are typically far away from the venue where the visiting President is appearing, so that he can enjoy a Potemkin village experience in which he sees only an adoring populace through his limousine windows. Protesters can peaceably assemble, just out of the President's sight and earshot." LOL...Obama has "Free Speech Zones." They are just called "viewing areas" instead. They are usually right outside the locked doors of his town hall meetings which are enforced with SEIU security. But seriously...these safety zones have been used since Reagan was shot. I'm leaning toward foolish. Just because you have the right to carry doesn't mean you always should. In a setting like that anything could happen. Why try to make a political statement when it's not necessary?

But to carry one near the nation's leader, and in a crowd of innocent people is just plain provocative and crazy! There are more mature ways to prove a point! If he had been walking around outside a school what would have happened to him? Whats the difference? Crazy I say, crazy!

It is crazy to walk in a crowd of people with an assult rifle! Needs his head examined! Again, is outside a school, your childrens schools, OK? Or in a shopping mall, or in a childrens playground.
